Thanks, it just came to me after the first shot. If you try it, try to get two trees which look similar in colour it makes it easier to edit and gives a smoother result.
Hey Katerina, you just simply use the little plate that comes with the gimbal. Because of the weight of the camera we did have to add a little weight to help balance it correctly. Hope that helps.
@@MacnTeensVisuals Unfortunately, no plate came in the package. Do you have any advice on where to get it separately, please? Btw, thank you so much for your reply!
I own a XT30 for about 3 years now. Absolutely love it, specially with the 35mm 1.4f lens, which is just magical. I started filming a few months ago with it. It is shaky, though, to film. And right now I'm looking into a gimbal. With post processing stabilization some shots look smooth, but some of them are hard to stabilize, specially if you walk during the filming. Which gimbal do you guys recommend?
Hey there! Absolutely love the 35mm too, I have the F2 version and it's probably what I use on the camera the most. When it comes to video, the footage can definitely be shaky, we really only use the 18-55mm for video which has stabilization and that helps a lot, but sometimes warp stabilizer doesn't quite work in post. Honestly we never really use a gimbal so I can't really give you a recommendation, I think a lot of them are over priced and you can probably get away with a cheaper option for most cases 👍
Compare between xt3 vs xt30, do you can see the clear difference in image quality? Im on the fence of choosing these models, whether I should increase budget to get xt3? And plus, do you face the overheating issues in a small camera like xt30, especially in recording video 4k And I wanna give a big thanks to both of you guys, love your channel a lot ❤
Hey there! There is no difference in imagae quality between the X-T3 and X-T30, the lens you choose is the only thing that will change image quality. We haven't really had any overheating issues with the X-T30 to be honest. Thanks very much we appreciate that, glad you enjoy the videos. Lots more to come ✌
Hey Matt, tbh we literally always shot any video in manual mode so we didn't know this was an issue. Just did a quite bit of researching and it seems other people have had the issue too and it seems to be down to the Auto ISO increasing or decreasing in increments rather than smoothly which causes the jumpy exposure changes. A few people said it seemed better after a firmware update so maybe you could try that if you haven't already. 👍
Great video again. If I'd only seen the Gimbal footage I would have thought I needed one for my XT30, but I thought the handheld footage was really just as good, more or less. The lens you used is stabilised of course, so maybe that's why the handheld is so good as well. What make was the gimbal, in case I weaken and buy one. Keep up the good work, always good to see your videos.
Cheers Ken! Gimbals are definitely useful at times but with some practice you can work around it just doing different types of shots handheld. Yeah the lens stabilisation certainly helps a bit and I also used warp stabiliser in post for a lot of the shots which helps even more. The one we used was the Feiyu-Tech G6 Plus honestly we haven't used it too much because we don't really need it for what we do but that may be different for you. Thanks again appreciate the support Ken😀✌
@@MacnTeensVisuals Thanks for the reply guys. I just had a go at hand held video while I walked with the camera and it was fairly rubbishy. I think all my camcorder footage of our kids growing up was done with me standing still, so that may be the answer for me as I won't do too much video now anyway. Just looked at yours again and it is smooth and impressive.
Hey Kate :) Thank you glad you liked them, we felt like the relaxed vibe was the one to go for this time. We have heard that Lightworks is a good free option & Filmora is good too but I think it may have a watermark that requires a license fee to remove.
If you have Mac, and you just want to quickly get to editing... I recommend iMovie. If you want top notch color grading, effects, pinpoint accuracy try the free version of Resolve. It's comparable to Premiere and Logic Pro (I think that's the name)
Great video guys! Keep it up! I use the Ulanzi camera bag mount too! :D Agreed as-well, the gimbal can be a pain sometime, with the setup time and other limitations. It definitely has its uses though! Both B-Roll sequences were great! Very Cinematic! Loved the handheld tree transition too!
Hey Daniel, thanks very much we appreciate that :) Oh cool, we actually have a few items from them, love the accessories they make. Yeah the setup with the XT30 was especially annoying because the mounting plate is so far to one side, need an adapter or something to sort that out. Totally agree some of the shots you can get with a gimbal are super nice. Cheers, glad you like them, the tree one was something I've done before so it just came back to me when I was shooting lol Have a good one ✌
The hand-held video was so terrific. And then you could stabilize post processing too right. You should do video on what gimbal can do and what not. Music was affecting. I just got X-E4. was going to get XT30 first and then covid came and so made a hold for 2 years to get first camera. Will first explore stills and then videos. What was the lens used here? 18-55? that has some stabilization right? I have got with 27mm and will have to see if video can be taken hand-held as finely as you did. Gimbal shots were also great at 5:08 mins. But how does one change focus points to achieve that creamy bokeh while also using gimbal?
You both did a great job! I don’t know if I should buy the x-s10 just for the ibis but the photography work i’ve seen with the xt30ii looks so muuuuch better! Do you think it really makes a big difference? I mean your handheld was actually pretty neat!
Hey there & thanks, apologies for the delayed reply. There will be no difference with photos from the X-S10 and XT30II so it would completely depend on whether or not you need IBIS for your video stuff. If you use Premiere Pro for editing then warp stabilizer really helps stabilize the clips when you don't have IBIS. It can't work miracles but it certainly helps a lot for most shots.

Thanks so much Peter glad you liked the sequences :) Yeah at the start it feels like a lot but just keep shooting and learning as you go. Loved that comparison because I am debating with myself right now if I want to go for a Fuji with IBIS or not. I think the handheld shots were really good and sufficient. Did you turn on the image stabilisation in the lens?
Yeah I totally understand that was the one thing we debated too. Yes the lens stabilisation was turned on and we also used warp stabiliser in premiere pro for a lot of the handheld footage. It works very well 90% of the time but Ibis would be nice at times lol
@@MacnTeensVisuals thanks for the reply. I use much larger XDCAM and A7's for work and your Fuji video is quite nice. Though I own an XPro3, I never use it for video. never thought the Fuji's were that capable. You have give me some ideas. Cheers.

Hey guys, thankyou so much for the video! I am planning to get the xt30 but I am a little indecise. I am planning to shoot handheld video around the city, but from all the comparison that I saw it looks very shaky using also a non stabilize lens Fuji 23 f2. Hey Luigi! Totally get it, we were the same when we were thinking about which camera to get. The A6400 does not have IBIS either though only the lenses. It is still possible to create nice videos but I would recommend the XF18-55mm lens for video + it has stabilisation. Using a setup with no stabilisation at all in camera or lens would be very difficult for video. We may be a little biased but I think we made the right choice going with our setup it works very well for video & the film simulations look amazing. Happy Holidays & New Year. @@MacnTeensVisuals Thankyou so much for the reply guys!
