The £50 Film Camera You Should BUY! - Kodak Ektar H35
The £50 Film Camera You Should BUY! - Kodak Ektar H35 - I'm finally getting around to sharing my thoughts on this quite new (Actually like a year or two old now) little half frame film camera from Kodak. Honestly I didn't think I would ever want a half frame film camera but after seeing some results my friend got with his and just how fun it was to carry around I decided to get one for myself. I have been using it for the past year and half or so and thought I'd share my thoughts on it and hopefully it will be interesting and helpful to some of you.

Nikon FE & Kodak Gold - This Is Why I Love Film Photography. Join me on a few days in the countryside with the Nikon FE and some 35mm Kodak Gold. Or even better give me some advice haha I must say...
Film Photography Printing - Follow These 5 Steps!

DO THIS Before Printing - Square Format Film Photography Print - In this video I wanted to find out how a 120 (Medium Format) film photo would turn out if I printed it on fine art paper. I wanted to know if there would much difference between it and the 35mm film photo I printed previously. How much more detail and sharpness would there be? How would the colours look? etc etc. I am sure many of...
The MISTAKES of Square Format Film Photography

I have been using my 6x6 Yashica Mat film camera for a few years now and I have made quite a few mistakes. I love square format but it is quite a bit different than other formats I think, certain things don't work as well and I don't think there is as much room for error. There are a few mistakes I have made over the past year that I wanted to chat about and hopefully help you avoid. I am still...

Prime Lenses - Watch This Before You Buy! I have tried out a few different prime lenses on my Fuji cameras over the past year and I wanted to share my thoughts about it and hopefully help some of you figure out which focal length might work best for you. I tried out a 23mm F1.4 a 35mm F2 and a 56mm F1.7, each has it's positives and it's negatives. Ultimately it comes down to your type of photog...

Viltrox 56mm f1.7 - The Budget Fujifilm Lens You NEED! This week we tried out the 56mm F1.7 lens from Viltrox. I have wanted to try out a 50mm prime lens for a while and this week I got the chance to. This was a little tricky but also a fun lens to try out for a few reasons and I thought I would share my thoughts on the focal length and this lens in particular which sells for £175 brand new. Ho...

Nikon FE - Best Budget 35mm SLR Film Camera?
I'm not a fan of the look these types of camera give. I'd sooner use the watch list feature on eBay and wait around for a cheap deal on something like the Canon Demi EE17, if I was into the idea of half frame. Alternatively just go around the charity shops and pick up something with a zoom from the big manufactures for under £25 and spend the other £25 on cheap film like 4 rolls of Kentmere 400.
I don't disagree with you at all and I considered doing the same thing. I would still like to go around charity shops and grab a few fun little cameras like this. The main reason I think this one is still a good idea is because it's a cheapish plastic camera that you don't care about really. It has no features to get in the way and if you lose it it's not the end of the world. Normally I would prefer a nice vintage camera with better quality but for nights out etc I think this little thing is perfect.
With film being so expensive, I would not want to waste a roll in this. However, interesting video nonetheless.
crappiest photos i've ever seen have come from this camera. I took my butt down to the camera store and bought a Olympus Pen S instead with full manual controls, zone focusing, and a nice sharp lens. Kodak should be prosecuted for selling this for $50.00.
Oh there is no doubt you can take some terrible photos and get some terrible results with this camera at times. I certainly wouldn't recommend it if you want the best final results. I like the look of those little Olympus Pen cameras but they aren't really just a point and shoot because of the features they have and that was kind of my point with this one. There are probably better options out there with sharper lenses etc but If I buy a nice vintage camera I don't want to lose it on a night out for example 😂
LOVE THIS VIDEO also in love with this Camera been using it for a couple of months
Hey there & thanks very much :) Glad to hear you're enjoying the camera, it's nice to just take photos and not worry about too much about things isn't it haha
Hello, can I use my custom recipes I use for photos on video on XT30ii? I cant seem to find the custom recipes when I toggle to video mode
That's a good question and honestly we haven't tried it. We use Astia soft for video and shoot RAW for photos 🤔
Would any of you guys buy this little camera?
@MacnTeensVisuals Jumping back into film this year I bought the H35(N) primarily so I wouldn't immediately go off the Pentax 17 deep end. Been a lot of fun and getting some occasional stunners esp with Ultramax 400.
@@borispresley Hey Boris, love to hear that. I do want to give Ultramax a try in this little camera just haven't got around to it yet. The Pentax 17 just seems way to expensive for what it is I think.
actually no. whoever is interested in half frame cheap camera should at least get the H34N
Well the H35n does have some extra features which some people might like but with a camera like this I think the less features the better. Nothing else to think about but point and snap 👍
Great work.
Cheers Tony appreciate man :)
Which lens you useing
This was all shot with the XF 18-55mm as far as I can remember lol

Just got my Yashica-C a couple days ago. Sad that I can't find that much videos of the Yashica-C in youtube, unlike the other Yashica's
Nice one enjoy! Yeah some cameras just aren't as popular especially when there are quite a few variations of those Yashicas. They are all very similar though really aren't they?
I was thinking of upgrading my XT30 for video, now I know I don't need to
Glad to hear it. It's a great little camera especially for video ✌
Absolutely loved this! Thank you and keep that energy going. Can't remember when was the last time I found myself smiling watching some tips and tricks. You guys rock! Long live the Zeeeebras!
Hey & thanks very much we really appreciate that, glad you enjoyed it and hopefully there was some helpful stuff in there haha Got to love those Zeeeeebras 😂
Sorry if this is a silly question as I am only starting in my filmmaking journey. With this camera, it says it has a recording time set at 15 minutes in HD. Does that mean I can film multiple 15 minute videos in one outing with the camera or is it I can only film up to 15 minutes of video overall and I'll have to transfer the video/videos off the camera before I can film more? Any info would be appreciated. Thank you!
Hey there! Yes you can film for 15 minutes multiple times you just need to hit record again. The number of times obviously depends on how much memory your memory card has. Great camera choice by the way and enjoy 😀
Hi
Hey there ✌
Thanks for this video. Appreciate the tips on using f-log, and I really enjoy your more "photographic" style of videography.
Hey there & thanks very much appreciate that and glad you found it helpful. ✌
Really lovely shots! I even liked the under exsposed shot :)
Thanks very much Richard appreciate it haha
useful review thanks! I have a new second hand one incoming cheap as chips, fingers crossed :)
Yeah I mean for the price the video quality is actually pretty good. The stabilization is where you notice the difference compared to a GoPro for example.
@@MacnTeensVisuals quite impressed with it so far...still figuring out best setting for general use, presuming 4K with stb and distortion correction on
I have to take my own portraits tomorrow and I'm not in the mooooood, but this video definitely helped
Hey there! Glad it helped, it definitely takes a few shots to get into the groove but it is fun when you get going. Enjoy, hope you get some you like.
Great vid and super nice images! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks very much appreciate that & glad you like them!
I love manual focus, it’s faster than auto.
I actually like it on my film cameras but not so much on digital. I found it quite difficult if I was trying to focus on a subject rather than just zone focusing.
Hey man, beautiful video. I know you put the link to where you get the music from, but do you know the exact track you used?
Thanks very much appreciate that, honestly I am not sure what the exact song was. The project is on a hard drive somewhere but I am not sure which one 😂
@MacnTeensVisuals that's no worries. Luckily, I used Shazam and found it in 5 seconds (thank god). Once again, brilliant video, I'm looking forward to buying the camera myself 😁
I recently got back into film with the FM cameras and then tripped and fell and accidentally purchased two FM3As. It was crazy how that happened. I still need some good vintage lenses but usually use the Voightlander Ultron 40 f2 and it’s a great lens to pair with these bodies.
😂 Love it. It is kind of strange because how seems to happen to many people haha Yes I have heard great things about those Voightlander lenses and I actually would love to get a different lens for the FE to mix things up a little. Cheers for the recommendation 👍
My favorite was the spiderwebs, I tend to photograph small details myself and I'm drawn to naturally occurring shapes.
Thanks and yeah I do really like those shots too. It's nice to mix things up isnt it. Adds something a little different to a collection of photos I think.
I would say the photo you took a few moments later, where the light is a tad different. I get what you say, regarding the wind turbine, however, both images are great. My personal favourite from this video, is the Spider Webb's on the gate. Nice shots throughout.
Yeah I think if I had of waited a little longer and got that almost blue hour pinky gradient in the sky it would have been really nice actually. Thanks though appreciate it. I do love how those turned out too it was cool to photography a few more detailed shots. Cheers again!
Why exactly can’t I crop a square to 16:9?
Insipiring frames!! keep shooting film
Thanks very much appreciate that. ✌🏼
Are you a sunrise or sunset kind of photographer? 🌄

@@tonyhayes9827 Haha Fully committed I like it.
Love the FE but the viewfinder on the FE2 is brilliant!
I actually haven't tried the viewfinder on an FE2. Is it just brighter or does it have a different focusing glass?
@@MacnTeensVisuals bit of both!
I’ve just bought a yashicamat 124g, I’ve heard you can get the ground glass replaced with a split field prism to help with focusing.
Love to hear it Donna, hope you're enjoying it. Yes I have seen that and have been tempted to change mine actually but haven't bothered yet lol
So the X-T30 ii the same as X-T32 ?
Is there an X-T32? lol
Bạn quay bằng màu velvia phải không?

@@MacnTeensVisuals các bạn quay video rất chuyên nghiệp
@@kemvtv916 Thanks very much we appreciate it. Do you have an X-T30?
@@MacnTeensVisuals yes i watched your video i bought xt30
@@kemvtv916 Oh really that's cool. Well we hope you are enjoying it, great choice :)
Pushing it better or not?
Honestly I never tried it so I don't really know. A little bit more contrast would have been nice for some shots so maybe pushing would look nice but at the same time it is easy to add a little contrast in post.
Great tips. Prints are fab
Thanks very much, love how it turned out.
Great video. And I also have to say that your videoquality on this video is top notch!
Hey there & thanks appreciate that and glad you liked the video. Hope it was helpful in some way ✌
Is this mark 2?
No this is the original X-T30 but it's literally the same camera minus a few film simulations 👍
I got that lens last month. It's holding up pretty well for me. I've kept it on the camera a lot longer than I thought I would. Before that, I'd been using almost solely the 35mm f1.4, so this gave me a slightly different arrangement. It turned out well for me.
Nice one Chris. Yeah I am the same I love the 35mm but it is nice to change things up with a longer focal length from time to time and the images turned out pretty nice too.
My first day with mamiya c3 and this was definitely on my mind
Haha well hopefully this helps. Enjoy the new camera ✌
I really love the phone booth photo. May I ask what lens did you use on your Nikon FE
Thanks appreciate that, it's probably my favorite too. I used the 50mm F1.8 for these shots. 👍
@@MacnTeensVisuals Thank you, I just bought the FE with a 50mm 1.4 and really enjoying it.
@@phuocdoann Great choice and glad to hear you're enjoying it. I never really shoot anything under F5.6 with my lens I find it's the best for overall sharpness and getting enough in focus 👍
All came out great but the shaking head is was awesome
Thanks appreciate it. It was a fun one to shoot.
Can only agree; love that tree photo and the portrait of you looks just amazing imo! Just gonna test my first Kentmere 400 roll in a Bessa R. Love your style and videos. What ISO did you shoot this at? Box speed 400? Any tips for developing?
Hey there & thanks appreciate that, glad you like them. We just shot this at box speed 👍 When it comes to developing we sent it to a lab so can't help you much there lol Enjoy though ✌
Lovely
Thanks very much :)
Is there a difference in color rendering between xt3 and xt5?
Hey! Tbh I don't actually know. I would imagine things probably look pretty similar but it is a different sensor so not sure. The X-T3 is great and I imagine the X-T5 is too lol
nice ❤
Thanks very much :)
Hi, did you use tripod to stabilize the shots or did you stabilize it in post? Thank you ❤
Hey! Some of the shots were handheld and some using a tripod. For the handheld shots I used warp stabliser in post 👍
Some nice tips, thanks!
Thanks James appreciate it ✌
Hey what cable and mic should I get for audio for xt 30ii.And I heard that xt30ii doesn't support mic without battery,is it true.?
Hey! We have been using the Rode Video Micro since we got the camera and it's been great, doesn't have a power button so when it's plugged in its always on, so you never forget lol Not sure what you mean about the battery but the X-T30 does need a mix axulliary adapter because it has a 2.5mm aux slot instead of 3.5mm 👍 Here is the link (It's our Amazon affiliate link btw) - amzn.to/3khi9cB
can you share the setting of your camera? i also have xt30 but the footage not sharp and hard to color grading
Hey there, I actually made a video about the settings I use quite a while back but everything is pretty much still the same. Here is the video, hope it helps 👍 ruclips.net/video/m9FRfI5YpxI/видео.html
the actual video is breathtaking... almost more than the beautiful photos. The yellow green grass, red-white dress, yellow trees, clear sky. Looks almost fake it's so pretty.
Hey there & thanks very much we appreciate that, glad you like it :)
Where do you like to get your prints made?
I used The Print Space for the last few prints and they turned out great 👍
