Thanks glad you enjoyed it. It definitely seems to be a great camera from my experience so far. I will try out some different glass on it at some point and see how it goes.
Good to hear your review. What a nice find!! The FE and the FE2 are the best of the Nikon F series. I've been shooting these cameras since 1988 and still love it.
Thank you you answered my question. It's got apature preview, like my Nikon F80, I was wondering because I am waiting on my FE coming from ebay, I hope it all works. I love the look always have so I bought a Nikon Zfc so now I have to have one. By the way practice using the apature preview, you will know exactly what's in focus and what is not, trust me your photography will be even better
I haven't tried out many other 35mm film cameras yet but from my experience I would have to say you are probably right. It's a great camera to use and looks so good too 👌
@@MacnTeensVisualsgot Olympus om10 and Nikon fe for cheap on eBay. Some light refurbishment and both great. I want to like the Nikon more but it’s heavy. The om10 is less featured slightly but lens system is just more fun.
My bad, I forgot one added feature. EXPOSURE LOCK - You can use exposure lock in certain scenarios if needed, so for example if you think a scene will be over exposed or under exposed by the camera you can point the camera at a certain area and then lock the exposure by pushing the timer lever in towards the camera lens. Keep holding that lever in and then recompose the scene and take your photo 👍
On a long exposure, use the self timer. It flips up the mirror before tripping the shutter which eliminates camera shake. Also, in auto, the shutter will stay open until the correct exposure is reached however long that is. Minutes rather than seconds if needed.
Hey! I have used the self timer a few times and it works perfectly. I am yet to try it for some night time longer exposures but I definitely will give it a go at some point 👍
Sometime around 2002, I bought a Nikon FE to replace my damaged Nikon FG. The difference in quality was remarkable. The plan was to eventually trade the FE for a real 'professional' Nikon F2 or 3. I still have and use the FE regularly, as it has proved totally reliable, sturdy and capable, and the need to upgrade has proved unnecessary. I'm sure that the more you use your Fe, the more you'll grow to love it and to respect it. The beautiful thing about owning a Nikon is using their lenses. Nearly all proper Nikkor glass is good, but they can be quite expensive, especially faster primes. There is however, a real unsung hero and consequently a real bargain with the Nikkor Ai-S 35mm - 105mm f3.5 -f4.5 zoom. This focal range, for me anyway, covers nearly all my requirements. £70 will buy you a decent copy. It's compact, easy to use, and it's only downside is that it's fairly slow and quite hefty. The images I get are simply wonderful though.
Love to hear that, I plan on keeping mine for a very long time so hopefully it continues too work perfectly like yours. Oh really that's great because I was actually thinking about trying a zoom lens at some point so cheers for that. Glad to hear you are enjoying the camera 👍
That's a great question, honestly I can't remember. As far as I know they are very very similar. I think the main reason if I remember was that the Nikon FM doesn't have an automatic mode and the FE does. I wanted a camera that would be a bit quicker to use along side my Yashica Mat.
@@MacnTeensVisuals ye fair enough, the aperture priority is pretty handy alright. Funny, I had zero interest in film photography until I saw your FE. Now I've got an FM2 on the way! Then I looked up how much film cost!!
Had one 40 years ago, now I want it again. Great video!

I love my FE. Based on some of your shots, that is just the motivation I need to just get out and shoot more with it.
Thanks very much & glad to hear it. It's just a really nice camera to use isn't it.

I truly believe FE is one of the most balanced cameras in terms of look, functionality and price

@@MacnTeensVisuals Ken Rockwell’s review of the FE is where I learned everything!
@@Spodsie I have read quite a few of his reviews, they are great.
I bought mine at a cut price 40 yrs ago because the FM2 had just been released 🤣📷👍
It's always nice to get a discount isn't it. Great choice, hope it is still working lol
"..have this good looking camera for 2 days, I should make a review!" *LOL*
I do miss the viewfinders of my Olympus OM SLRs, both the minimalist OM1N and the more detailed information of the OM4.
The viewfinder really is such a big part of the experience when using film cameras so it's definitely something you want to enjoy using you know.
oh u forgot about the exposure lock, it's really handy, i use it often
Well spotted I actually just realised that after the video was uploaded. I should probably leave a comment mentioning that lol
What 35mm camera do you shoot with?
I shoot my 35mm with my Yashica 635, but it’s my favorite duel format camera ever (,:
@@ericvonhough4317 I love how the negatives look when you shoot 35mm in a medium format camera 👌
Good video

FE is a very reliable camera and it's about half the price of the super hyped FM2...
