Fujifilm cameras are known for being very portable. Especially the Fuji X100V, X100F, X-E4, X-T30 are pretty small. Fujifilm's X-Pro 3, X-T5 and X-H2 aren't quite as small but can be made more portable. When I got my Fujifilm X-T30 I quickly started searching for the perfect fujifilm pancake lens. I really enjoy the Fuji XF 27mm F2.8 but there is one lens that is a lot more exciting, and is the smallest lens I have ever used: The Laowa 10mm F4 Cookie. This lens is not only a tiny pancake lens for fujifilm but also a great ultra wide angle lens for fujifilm cameras. In this video, I test and review the laowa cookie manual, ultra wide angle pancake lens. The lens is also available for cameras like the Sony a6700, Sony a6500, Canon R7, Nikon Z fc, Nikon Z50, Nikon Z30.

Great to see another Ruhrpott video. I've only scratched the surface of Landschaftpark Duisburg when I was there to see a concert. I definitely need to look around a little more. Great video! That xt30 is great. A really good value and a great viewfinder.

I own an XT-30 as well and also found the portability to be a huge benefit. It's just small enough to be carried on the hip with a belt loop case, which is great for hiking when you want your hands to be free and don't want something hanging from your neck. I had used Case Logic cases in the past and found them to be good value and durable. Eventually I settled on the DCB-304, which I have found to be a good match for the X-T30. Also just looked it up again and somehow it's going for $5 on Amazon right now, they are running a sale apparently. Highly recommended for anyone with an APS-C size camera looking for a case.

Thanks for the video. How does the Fuji XT30 compare to the Fuji X100T speedwise? I mean, the time since you turn it on and shoot is it about the same for both cameras, I just want to know if one of them is quicker than the other....DSLR compared ?

Yes, mine is the "charcoal silver" color, the other one is just called "silver"

There is Laowa 9mm f2.8 Zero-D which is a little wider (with no distortion) than 10mm

Yes it's the Landschaftspark Duisburg :)
1st it's 10mm (15mm in full frame) which is not easy to use and control. 2nd it's F4 which is slow lens. So why do you feel surprise it's unpopular?

You should get a jetech grip for the xt30, it completely changes the camera, it makes the 16-55 2.8 comfortable to use

I kinda see why no one talks about it. $300usd which isn't bad but the Fujifilm 10-24mm f4 MK I goes for $400usd used maybe less at times. Unless I just absolutely want to scream to the world I love pancakes it isn't the best value for money.
That's definitely a fair point. That lens is quite large so if you don't mind that it is probably the better buy, but if you want your camera to fit into a jacket pocket or small bag for every day carry, the Laowa allows you to do that.
Also, I think this lens is plain ugly. Doesn't fit the X-T30 at all.

I never used to give thought to ultra-wide lenses, until I bought one on a whim in Japan a decade ago. And now I can't imagine not having one. I am always finding new ways to compose with it. I've got a couple good ones now, but always looking for niche lenses, like something like this that is pocketable.

Have you seen Leica lenses? 😄 Those are $6000 and manual focus. But in all seriousness, at 10mm you really don't need autofocus as much as you would think.
Hi FUTC.. I am a real fan of your contents and humor. Happy to watch more of your vids whether they are gear-oriented or not. As a constructive comment, please please stick to the quirky and European editing/styling you used to have. The peter mckinnan music and americanise studio backdrop have made the whole production LESS special than your old videos used to. I think the community yearns to see more unique look like what you used to do.
I appreciate the input, It's interesting to hear because I've never felt like I had a fixed style. I've been bouncing around a lot between styles because I just do what feels right for each video. I spend a lot of time picking the right music for each project and I pick the music depending on the location and the footage. Of course this type of music wouldn't fit for footage at the beach or something like that, where I might use house music and edit completely differently. I used to just use Lofi music but that's probably the most generic thing you can do for a photography video so I moved away from that. But don't worry, it's just the time and the place and I'll always try to do something creative with every video, definitely not trying to be like peter mckinnon.

Indeed, I have never heard of this lens. That is OK as I would never want to use this lens. I don’t like using any lens wider than 28mm. I find 28mm too wide for my taste. A 28mm lens requires me to get too close to my subject to obtain an acceptable image. Plus I am forced to be more aware of what is at the edge of the frame. 15mm? No way!
Different strokes for different folks. This folk does not want this particular stroke. That is alright. I’m sure there are photographer that would enjoy using this lens. We have to use the right tool for the right job. You are about the price.

No one is talking about it because it JUST RELEASED and Laowa didnt send out much samples but there are a few people on RUclips talki g about it. Stop being so clickbait-y... not a good look
