  • The NiNE is FAR103 compliant and details are further down in the description.
    This was a special flight for me, as I wanted to share my flight on the very first production Flylight NiNE aircraft. This wasn't its first flight as I had 2 shore engine break in flights before this one.
    Every time I fly the NiNE I am just surprised how much this aircraft has to give, it is like a fighter jet, it goes where you point it, it has speed, climb rate, smoothness in the controls and really puts a different grin on your face that the ADAM doesn't.
    For the United states Market and FAR 103 enquiries.

    Radiator cover for winter flying? Interested to hear more about the wing vent system.
    The HG gang use vents for better performance at higher speeds. Apparently keeps the tips from inflating at high speed. All new to me. Looking forward to learning more.

    • @GolfFoxtrot22
      @GolfFoxtrot22  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Doug, yo are right on the cover, but its also to keep it warm as it cools the engine too well. The vents on this wing actually takes a few mph off the top speed, but it does make the roll control really light when it goes fast, rather than heavy, it was like Cadillac power steering. Thanks, nearly at 7k so share away and help me get there ;)

    Giles, So you like this machine as the engine stays exactly where you have it on the throttle, as such I assume this has not been the case on your previous sub70! On my Fly Sub70, I have a very nice Viterrosi 185 Mostar and it is absolutely solid at what ever revs I have it on and the foot and hand throttle are in perfect synchronisation with the engine. The reason being that I set the carb up as advised by our East European friends on a video ensuring it has been perfect ever since. What ever you are flying this should be the case and if not, then sort the carburettor out and align with the throttles, easy really and it cuts out the forced landings 😬 Also, what is the right hand instrument that you work with the stylus as it saves taking off the glove, thanks.

    • @GolfFoxtrot22
      @GolfFoxtrot22  5 месяцев назад

      Hi Chris, thank you for your comment. I have a Peabee as well as this new NiNE which also has my Moster on it. I like both for different reasons. I'm guessing you are new to my channel, so welcome. I've covered my Sub70 as well as NPPL journey over the past 4 years so those might be of interest if you like tuning, modifying and adventures. I've made a video on how I modified my carb to achieve some mid range tuning but the issue is slightly bigger than just tuning. The Walbro carb and Moster are renowned for this jumping issue. I've a lot of experience with mosters, it's not so much the carb settings but the switch over between jets and the pipe coming in. The Peabee at hand off trim sits just below the upper jet and the pipe at 58/5900. My modification works to about 6100 then just jumps as the pipe takes over, never say never, but my Moster is running well. The Oudie5Pro is the instrument to the right and I have a little stylus on a bungee to save taking my gloves off but sometimes I just do it anyway. Thank you for your support and hope to see you in the comments section in other video.

    Great video Giles! I really want to get a look at one of these up close at Sun n Fun 2024! I think the Nine trike with a Fox 13TL would be the ticket for me at the altitudes and weight I have to contend with.
    You may have already done this, but another good video idea would be flying with a reserve vs without on flexwing aircraft. I know with PPG I never fly with one because 99% of the time I am flying too low for it to be effective anyway.
    Thanks again! Great content!!

    • @GolfFoxtrot22
      @GolfFoxtrot22  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Jean-Paul, I like the funny use of "flying around". I did have an incident last year after a few hours on my wing. My wing did collapse after I had landed due to a nyloc nut coming loose holding my rear flying wires to the keel. As a result of this incident the UK Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) couldn't conclusively determine what had happened but have strongly considered vibration. AEROS have now put a belt and braces solution in place which is now fitted to all of the NiNE wings. I have taken away how much we rely on Nyloc Nuts on all the wings we fly. I hope that as a result of my incident, that we can fly much safer wings. I can't wait to get my NiNE back in the air, I have a lot of flying to catch up on. Thanks for your comment and enquiry.

    Great video Giles. What’s the storage capacity like on the 9 Trike? Just wondered if you’d be able to stow some basic lightweight camping stuff for a little camping tour for a few days away. Also, I’d be interested to know what the real world fuel burn is like on the Polini 303 at typical cruising RPM and how many hours you’d get from your 23 litre tank.

    • @GolfFoxtrot22
      @GolfFoxtrot22  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Ian, have you seen my camping video, which should give a good indication of how much you can fit in, ruclips.net/video/UzEErPqZHoI/видео.htmlsi=mjYLPmECQmqkt0RC, I had loads of space spare. The real world fuel burn is just about 6 litres per hour over an hour flight cycle, so 3.5 hours would be optimistic on a tank duration. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to drop a comment here.

      Many thanks Giles. That’s really helpful especially the fuel burn. Thanks for the link. Have you got a different trike for the Nine or have you mounted your new Nine wing to a Bivvy Bee trike? Is there much difference in terms of storage space on the Flylight different trikes (i.e. the fixed gear ones)? Is it possible to store any lightweight stuff like a sleeping bag in the wing like you can do on a Quik and other flexwings? Sorry for all the questions. Here’s a video I did a few years ago one my Magic Cyclone “The SSDR with Deep Pockets” ruclips.net/video/LEXaPgMATSQ/видео.htmlsi=eNtDf6SliCYMFd4L@@GolfFoxtrot22

    • @GolfFoxtrot22

      Hi Ian, the trikes are pretty much the same sub chassis, the NiNE has a different fairing, ie sightly bigger. You could put the sleeping bag in the wing on the ADAM or NiNE as they are dual skin, the FOX doesn't have access as it is only 33% dual skin. The Bivvi Bag and headbox, combined with the main fairing have loads of space. The ADAM trike doesn't the same storage space as the wheels retract into the body. I hope that helps further.

    • @GolfFoxtrot22
      @GolfFoxtrot22  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Gunnar and good spot. Both really, it is designed for slower airspeeds of the paratrikes and paramotors which don't have good cooling flows. Ben has blanked half of it off and it still cools quickly during flight when the engine goes to idle. Where do you fly, I couldn't quite work it out from your channel?
