FINALLY somebody on RUclips did a reaction to this movie. I think I watched this movie more than any other Netflix original movie besides 'Dolemite Is My Name'.
A few channels have reacted to it, but I think most white reactors worry they might laugh at the wrong thing or in the wrong way and come off as racist? Like... could it be read wrong for a bunch of white guys to be laughing at terrible stereotypes about fried chicken and pimps? Which is a shame because this movie is AMAZING. So unique, so amazingly shot, such a good story with brilliant acting.
Anyway if you want to branch out, Everyday Negroes, YaBoyRoshi, James vs Cinema, Syntell, and StruggleNation reacted to it, and I think The Normies did recently. All of the mentioned channels are worth a follow IMHO.

Teyonah Parris was so amazing in this movie! Seriously great cast all around but she really stood out. Amazing and hilarious performance!

10:47 Actually that was 'Undercover Brother' where the chicken messing with Black people's minds. 'Black Dynamite' was the Anaconda Malt Liquor...the same Malt Liquor Fontaine drinks in this movie. So these are technically in the same universe. 😂
UK/Brit. I don't know much about Jamie Foxx - enjoyed him in the Tarantino/plantation film, but kinda upset about Ed Sheeran (beige asf).
Boyega I hadnt seen in anything, maybe a very "hazy" viewing of Attack the Block.
Foxx, Parris and David Alan Grier (for me) knock it out the park. They're all natural with funny. Kiefer Sutherland's fun and pretty much nails the role. Joshua Mikel I think is an actor worth watching, certainly in future.
I now respect John Boyega as an actor + I think the film did well for casting him as the comic relief /"straight man". I will definitely take an interest in his future work.
*White/male/Brit/~liberal/old. I didn't feel clubbed round the head with the racial dialogue/subtext/focus of the film and I really enjoyed it.
When you guys say "the government/conspiracy" yeah, probably, but I think that was also an interesting - duality/tension of being a black man in a society that's really not designed for you and again "not clubbed" by it. I've read a reasonable amount of black authors that discuss "bleaching skin, hating their own skin". Been watching a fair few US >into Europe things and it kinda blows my mind the tension ALL US folk must live under each day with gun violence. That's not ANY judgement on anyone but killers. That psychological pressure must (maybe) equate to the tension non-white people must feel in a lot of the world - so this film did me good to see. I hope the Director does another film. 8/10.

John Boyega is really good, you should watch “Imperial Dreams”, he plays a young brother coming up in the Imperial Courts housing projects in Watts, California. He is so believable it is crazy. Why are British actors so good😭
