This movie is so under rated it's almost criminal. The way it's shot, the story, how original everything is. The way they blur what year it's set in with mixes of both old, new and missing technology and designs and styles from different decades all mixed together, the acting is fantastic, it's funny as hell. Legit one of the best films from all of last year, I wish more people saw it.
Saddest of all to me was the realization that Fontaine had been cloned for so long and so often he had no memory of his mother's death. It had been wiped during his reprogramming to maintain the illusion.
His mum had been dead for a long time before Fontaine prob existed in Glen since old original fountaine was an old man, mum would have died a while ago
@@IndomitableAde original Fontaine allowed him to have that memory, only without him seeing his bloodied corpse. That's one thing that he wanted all of them to have.
@@overdrive7349 yes, and I was speaking on his mother's death, not his brother's. He obviously had no memory of it or he wouldn't have been interacting with a speaker behind a door that stayed closed.
I also think this movie reminds me of Undercover Brother. It's like a grittier version, especially with the chicken. This was so trippy and funny but also piques all the conspiracy theories. Glad I went in blind when it came out. I know others have said it, but I would love to see this group watch The Blackening!
imagine this being your directorial debut. incredible. the more i watch it and think about it, it creeps up into my all-time favorites. so good on every level.
Saw this comment elsewhere. Describes it perfectly. "You are Tyrone. I don't think it's an accident that the entire movie the viewer is left asking themselves, Who TF is Tyrone? Tyrone is someone in the "real world" watching this story from home, when he suddenly realizes.... He's been cloned. The entire movie draws parallels to our society today. The majority of us are subconsciously yet significantly influenced by external factors (cultural expectations/ trends/marketing/ etc.) and "act" accordingly. How would we behave if we suddenly woke up and realized, WE are the clones. That random dude in the real world watching this from his living room, realizing that he's not that unique and doesn't have as much control over his own life as he thought. Realizing there's bigger forces at play here. I think Jules Taylor is trying to "wake up" the viewer with "Who Cloned Tyrone" especially African-American men. That makes more sense to me than the idea that he titled the entire movie after a small Easter egg hinting at a sequel at the very end of the movie."

Wow! One of the best comments I’ve seen for this movie.
Once you guys got that Frog was the blind seer. It reminded me I think that blind wave mentioned that it's basically "Hood D&D" and everybody fills their role
This movie caught me off guard. It is great, well-written, and directed. Jamie Foxx was great. Another great movie to watch is The Harder They Fall. It's great.
Fun Fact: The guy at yhe end of the movie that said "Aint that you tyrone?" Is the director of the movie. Also listen to the song at the end with erica badu its different lyrics tailored about the movie
You have to also listen to the end song. It's not the original live version of "Call Tyrone," it's the original audience audio but Erykah changed the lyrics to reflect the movie.
Yeah, as a 6'6" black guy, I have to be very mindful of how I interact in public. The amount of times people thought I was "scary" until they talked to me is a lot. I really enjoyed this movie when I saw it. There's a lot of inside baseball jokes I had to explain to my white friends. 😆
Spidey and Chris, I hope y’all eventually realised it’s different version of the song at the end where Erykah actually sings “They cloned Tyrone” instead. Very cool!
I remember when this movie came out on Netflix, no one was talking about it! I loved it so much and wish more people see it. I honestly hope we see a sequel to it but I know that won't happen =(
YESSSSS I SUGGESTED THIS MONTHS AGO!!!! This movie was sooo damn good!! Good to see enough people mentioned it to them or they felt they need to react themselves. Too good not to.
I think that’s part of the theme. They seem stuck in place as their community is influence to crabs in a bucket mixed with people outside keeping them in.
@@nichescenesright. meaning it’s by design. I think crabs in a barrel is birthed out of that design. I’m also saying you see how outside forces keeps certain places behind. you see schools now with 10 computers with 1,000 kids. other schools assign tablets/laptops for every student
Consider this: there is a clone of you wandering about committing all kinds of crimes. "The powers that be" kill the clone, and you (the genuine person) are now wanted for arrest. It makes you think about persons who have been arrested for a crime yet claim to be innocent.
I'm telling you this movie made me so mad. They put everything in perspective. Especially the instructional music. There's a lot of songs that have instructions in them. And that's besides all the dance songs that tell you to do them. Then you have the chicken crazes like Popeye's. There was also Church's Chicken that had larger than normal chicken. And our churches that mostly try to tell you that your life is a part of a plan and will be okay so be docile. I'm really surprised they didn't try to stop this movie from being made (maybe why only on Netflix).
If you guys haven't reacted to "Sorry to Bother You" with LaKeith Stanfield, I highly recommend it. It's another black surrealism movie that really tripped me up.
Two of the most educational (but difficult to watch) movies I've seen are "The Hollywood Shuffle" and "Bamboozled" the latter is a Spike Lee Joint. Incredibly difficult to watch, but something everyone should see at least once. They would be wild to see y'all react to.
I would love to see them react to Hollywood Shuffle. CLASSIC. Just the other day, I watched Robert Townsend on Quest Love's podcast and it was 🤯. The things he & Keenan did to make that movie 🤯
Showed this to people no trailer. They thought the jamifox stuff was funny but got mad when the rest of the story happened lol. It’s a smart movie sold as silly while being satire and sci-fi etc hitting demos that are less normie more into large demographics of film and who like high concept stuff.
PLEASE this group needs to react to P-Valley! Navi and Rana can watch the first two seasons and catch up for whenever season 3 comes out and the 3 that have already seen it can join for the new season or rewatch with them!
In terms of the laughing chicken experiment. Imo the thinking behind it is if a population is too busy laughing and having a good time they are less likely to question the injustice happening around them. Edit: Nvm they explained it lol.
Chester?! 😂 29:56 The way she it was so funny! That man does not look like a, “Chester.” lol Like, it reminds me of Hoodwinked when the bunny told Keith to change his name! lol Like, it’s not scary! lol
The movie supposed to happen in something between 90-00's, but since we see the world in Fontaine eyes, and his memories were upload from his old self (wich is now old) it will explain the amount of old things like the computer, because reality and uploaded memories are all mixed up. Thats why Yo-Yo was talking about the blockchain and bitcoin, since she was not a clon she was living on the "real world".
This movie was great, pretty scary to think about. It reminded me of Cabin In the Woods and Us, bc of the underground and the gov’t controlling things. And I swear that chicken place with drugs in the chicken, that’s Chick-fil-a! People love Chick-fil-a and there are always long lines at every one of them, just waiting for sub par chicken. I’m telling ya

Lmaoo this was perfect. Need this crew to do the Blackening 😂
Yes! xD
YESSSS!!!
Yesssssssss please do the Blackening 😂
I agree as well
YESSSSSS !!!! Can someone tell them lol
I love that Spidey and Marketa knew that was Lil Murda from P-Valley. Shout out to y'all for watching P-Valley!
I like this group, it's more chill than the usual. Wouldn't mind this squad for more comedies!
yup suraj and pat interrupt obnoxiously loud and go on random tangents!
This movie has soooo much rewatch value, yall didn’t pick up on all the foreshadowing but it’s a fun rewatch to see what u missed
This movie deserved far more respect. this movie was so damn amazign
The crazy thing about the mom situation was that it's very clear they never expected him to live long considering the limited amount of responses
This movie was such a treat. The main trio have great chemistry!
One of the greats of 2023 no doubt. Had me looking at life differently.

I was so sad they didn’t listen to it 😭
Ain’t no way y’all watched P-Valley and didn’t give us at least a Patreon exclusive reaction
omg so i'm not the only one that is practically begging people to react to P-Valley 😭
The blackening is a hilarious movie yall gotta see it, it was actually great

Such an unexpectedly great movie. I did the same as you all and just watched it per fried recommendation with no background.

it’s hard to tell what year it is because they have the power to keep certain parts of the country from advancing.
I think that’s part of the theme. They seem stuck in place as their community is influence to crabs in a bucket mixed with people outside keeping them in.

@@DJfromthenois yeah. It’s a very good symbolic satire and sci-fi movie. Sadly those who benefit from learning from the film will never watch it.
Facts
David Alan Grier was also Reverend Leon Lonnie Love on Martin
This movie gets better with each rewatch.
This movie is probably my favorite thing Netflix has ever put out.
Spidey and Chris are wild for that intro

*The Most Underrated film of 2023*
We're all the same, being manipulated by the system.
🤔🤔🤔
That's what i expect
The op would say,🤔
Maybe, you cloned
Tyrone 😮😰😰😰
NoooooooooOo!!!

Hope other channels like Reel Rejects watch this.
Such a slept on movie
For sadly obvious reasons
Being from Memphis made this movie even more enjoyable. There were so many references. Even one of the actors is a rapper from the city.
This movie was really balls to the wall!
At some point, you should react to Black Dynamite.
Agreed. Speaking of which, did you catch the Black Dynamite Easter egg in this movie?
It gives you "woooooooo!"
If you guys haven't reacted to "Sorry to Bother You" with LaKeith Stanfield, I highly recommend it. It's another black surrealism movie that really tripped me up.
At the end, they compare this movie to "Sorry to Bother You," so they are familiar

the chicken restaurant part also reminded me Undercover Brother.
Just came here to give props to the thumbnail editor you guys have on staff. They knocked this one out of the park.
This has that Sorry To Bother You energy that I need from the Normies. I miss that vid on YT
😂 church people dancing to juvenile was my favorite part

This was my favorite movie of 2023
"ANACONDA MALT LIQUOR GIVES YOU LITTLE RICHARD!"
It gives you WOOOO!
They missed the song... 😞 She changed the words to the song for the movie.
Came here to say this. “These mf’ers cloned Tyrooone”
In terms of the laughing chicken experiment. Imo the thinking behind it is if a population is too busy laughing and having a good time they are less likely to question the injustice happening around them.
Edit: Nvm they explained it lol.
We all don't need to be beige. That don't solve the problem. And I love being black
Yeah that was an odd thing to say though I'm sure the intentions weren't malicious
this movie is so underrated!! I had my family watch this and they were so shook they had my grandma watch it 🤣
Chester?! 😂 29:56

Love this movie especially the reveal at the end bro like that still blows my mind!
Guys are you ever going to react to Atlanta ?
Great movie deserved a full couch watch
Tyrone was the original from Cali
Was hoping y'all would do a reaction. Watched it a while back. Amazing movie.
Oooh can’t wait to see this reaction😂😂😂
Yall would’ve been in trouble at the end of the movie. Saying Black Olympia with the clone and it didn’t work 😂
Yeah, y'all missed the song; the lyrics were updated for the movie.
*One of my movies of the year.*
This joint nice. Very relevant to now...
Very much!
So dope great movie very chilling too also the mix of time periods was very trippy
Kristine Sutherland is not related to Donald and Keifer. Her birth name is Young, and she changed it for her acting career.
Yes, the original color purple first!
This has a nice social commentary.
Could Fontaine be the last name? So Its Tyrone Fontaine?
Oh you guys HAVE to watch Black Dynamite now.
This movie was great, pretty scary to think about. It reminded me of Cabin In the Woods and Us, bc of the underground and the gov’t controlling things. YALL HAVE TO CHECK OUT “The Blacking“ !!! It’s a must watch !
Awesome movie to react to. Insane.
Holy hell. I got so lost in this flick I did not recognize John Boyega.
"... I'm going down....'cus you ain't around..."
Shoutout to Marketa for recognizing Juvenile!!

P-Valley! hell yeah.
Navi looks so beautiful, respectfully
Love this movie! One of my favorites of last year! Y'all should watch Hazbin Hotel.
Naviii fine ahh 😍 and I’m hype to watch this reaction let’s get it! 🫡🔥

“Clone Him!”
Yall need to watch Black Dynamite the movie
Is it in the kook-Aid 👀😂
finally! 🫠🫠🫠🫠
They are really cloning people in real life
37:20 yes indeed.
“is that Lil Murda?” 😭😭😭
Shalamar is a music group
A movie I liked that went under the radar is “Da 5 bloods” spike Lee and nothing but black excellence… minus Johnathon majors
Awesome movie.
