I wrote to them both while they were doing this, and were in the Westend at the same time, I wrote to tell them how much I loved this, never expecting a reply, but got a beautiful letter from them both!! It was the one and only time I did anything like that! Sadly over the years with all the moves I’ve made I’ve lost that letter, and was sad when Michael passed away, but still have a very soft spot for Dame Jude! ❤😊
Stephanie murria I also discovered this series recently. It was a kick to find out that Judi Dench and Michael Williams were married in real life for nearly 30 years!
Ah, the good old days of liquid paper! It's sweet to see her introducing him to that little miracle. How many millions of high school and college students got more sleep and better grades because of that simple product? How many billions of hours (and dollars/pounds) of increased corporate productivity are due to it?
Stephamie Yes in the first episode everytime Mike picks up his drink the coaster kept sticking to his glass bottom And except for the first episode it always happens to him It's a running joke through the whole series Mike ( Michael Williams) and Laura (Judi Dench) were married to each other in real life From 1971 until 2001 when he passed away
Agree 100 . Bob Larbey destroyed it. Completely. The last one I watched was in S / 3, the woman pouring water on Mike's head. She became insufferable , and he had zero self esteem.
At 11:45 in this episode, Laura calls to get gardening work for MIke, clarifying she's not calling for translating work. Sounds like a Greek name, so presumably she would have translated that language for him.
Thanks so much for posting this series! Brilliant! 👏👏👏👏😊

Oh, you mean Tipp-Ex?
@@Ad-Infinitum Yes. The first correction fluid was invented by an American and called Liquid Paper.
@@LynxSouth
If anyone remembers Mike Nesmith from the band The Monkees it was his mother who invented it!! 😊😉
I hate to iron, but I love that yellow iron
I Love this show so much!. I'm wondering what is the deal is with the Coasters? is there a special meaning if they stick? lol
Stephamie Yes in the first episode everytime Mike picks up his drink the coaster kept sticking to his glass bottom

It's a running joke through the whole series
Mike ( Michael Williams) and Laura (Judi Dench) were married to each other in real life
From 1971 until 2001 when he passed away
Hi Stephanie. For me, it represented how things often didn't go right for Mike.
I'm not quitting U know....
I know you're not
...PRICELESS 2💕😉
It's amazing how they acted so awkward with each other, given they were married.
She criticizes him ,,,
Then
Criticizes hm for not accepting him
I love this lady she passed am I right .Boy she was funny and a great actress.
No, she’s still alive and doing very well! In fact, she’s still active on television if I’m not mistaken.🙂
No Judi is still with us, it’s Mike who passed away in the early 2000’s 😔
Cute show for first 2 seasons . Dreadful after that..turned into a soap opera.
Agree 100 . Bob Larbey destroyed it. Completely.
The last one I watched was in S / 3, the woman pouring water on Mike's head. She became insufferable , and he had zero self esteem.
20:23 His anger is way over the top, quite a disproportionate response. I'd be really concerned by that reaction...
Judi's character doesn't seem to have a career/job. From where does her money come?
Translating work.
She's a freelance translator and works at home.
See season 1 episode 1

Often described cc as "gentle comedy". By gentle comedy we really mean "not remotely funny." Couple of unconvincing ham actors.
