I remember playing one minigolf hole where the ball so regularly got stuck in the little windmill, the attendant came over and stayed until a group had played through.
Yes it was very popular and it introduced Judi Dench to a wider audience. Both were respected RSC actors and it was considered very daring for two straight-theatre actors to do a sitcom.
It's supposed to be a sitcom er funny.Actually I find him more annoying than funny. He is not as fine a comedian is she is an actress that's all.His whole existence was his admiration of her talent and his dedication to encourage and support her.
Mike is so weird how he always thinks everybody's thinking about him all the time 18:34. He's not interesting, he's dull. Not the sort of person people would wonder about.
you have to remember when this was made.... "living with someone" was not done/spoken about. and it's not like they're 20 years old who ran off together - Mike is 42. (personally, I think it's funny that they were Judi and Mike were actually married when they made this show.)
@z The exception?Trust me it was still considered then a poor substitute by the majority.Gossiped about actually.Like "They couldn't find the real thing so they settled".Much the same today.*smile*.
Thank you 😊
Crazy Golf is called Putt Putt Golf where I come from. Thanks for the upload :D
We say Miniature Golf, here (West Coast - Vancouver).
@@wandamundy1759 Here in Ohio it is called miniature golf as well. Do you say soda or pop? I always heard cola called pop when I was a kid.
@@crystalheart9 we only ever called it fizzy drink or soft drink here in NZ, probably different now but I don't drink it.
Great to see the Crazy Golf scene (12m 40s in). A fine summing up of the sport's frustrations!

I like Mike but I think his continual incompetence and inability to make a direct decision would soon prove wearing.
Was only 3 yrs old in 1981 when this came out
thanks for the upload.☺
Shit how times have changed
I just realized "Ben" the actor is also the room service guy lol
I think they were husband and wife in real life to
Mike always seems to have that serious look on his face.saying that he is very clumsy 😂😂
Cute 😊
Was this a very popular show in the 80s? I'm a fan of Dame Dench, but as an American haven't heard of this.

Oh shut up!
Anyone know if Michael Williams was related to Robin Williams?
So he's over 45 yet doesn't marry her. I would have left a Loooooong time ago. So disrespectful.

These two have a comical lack of passion in their relationship - that's the whole point! It's why they are perfect for each other.

Mike I will be a bit of fun lol
20:00 ....I'm married all right. Not to the girl I'm here with though!! LOL
I'm a bit puzzled at the show's obsession with their marital status?!
