Thank God Judi sorted her hair out after series 3- I know the pudding bowl Purdy cut was very fashionable back then, but unless you actually were Joanna Lumley, it was hard to look good in it.
"Dame" is a horrible insult. It is derived from daemon , which is demon in Greek. You're calling her "Demon Judi", is it any wonder things aren't going well for her? Do your research !!!
It's television. Not real... They aren't eating a meal. They are ACTING. There is a studio audience, there are cameras, And there is fake food. It's not beef . On TV, the food is usually applesauce, or oatmeal/ water, with food coloring added, to look like whatever. Applesauce "keeps" longer under hot studio lights . ...This is pretend, surely you know that? It's not like Susan just cooked actual beef in her real kitchen.
the show was great for two seasons. then they completely changed both characters in season three. wanting babies, running off to belgium etc ruined the show
What a silly comment - of COURSE the characters changed! They moved in together in a serious relationship; apparently the first in a long time for each character. They started dealing with adult issues (meeting the "in-laws", procreating, etc.) which for the most part they would not have dealt with as singles. IMHO, it was totally fitting their characters to evolve as they got into a relationship - as we all should.
She 'FANTASTIC!'
If I was to be asked Who would you most like to meet! I would say none other than Dame Judy!
There is no way “Georg” is only 50 years old…he’s definitely older!
I love the sound of Helen's laugh in this episode, it's like a giggly young girl. Very charming.
Creepy comment.
This the first britcom I saw Dame Judi Dench in..some time later found out that she was married to Michael Williams.

LOL
I don't think the bowl cut flatters anybody. :/
I think Dame Judi Is so good Best of UK Talent. Do I care about her hair? No Why should I when I enjoy her talent?

No noodles with the Beef Stroganoff ?? It looked kind of lonely on the plate. No wonder everyone is so thin. LOL!
"Scoffed the whole lot". Did you see the size of that portion? No wonder they're so slim 😂
That did not look like strogganof, and what's with the tiny servings? Weird thing to notice but I did.
I thought the same thing! I think Helen and Phil ate small portions to stay slim…possibly…
@@monac1504Nope. They'd all eaten the whole meal. These little plates must be afters (dessert).

No way that man is only 50.
+CalLadyQED Huh? What in the world do you mean?
And no way is the 50yo Judi Dench of child-bearing age.
I just looked him up on IMDb. James Grout. He was 53-54 in 1981.
@@dorothywillis1, I meant that he obviously looked older than 50. And apparently I was right that he was older at that time
@@CalLadyQED I should have made myself clear. I meant, "Which man?"
Phil looked better without the mustache.
George (or in this case Jorge) to Laura: Laura, you're a very beautiful woman.
Laura: I'm not beautiful.
Jorge: I mean spiritually!!
Georges* You want the French spelling, not the Spanish.
No toilet downstairs?
Not in the days when 'cloakroom' actually meant somewhere to hang your coats..
Don't like the 'tash.

Some women really are this screwy. It’s like rational thought gets thrown into a blender with something indefinable and screwiness is the result.
