One of the pleasures of this series is the relationship between the married sister and her husband. They so convincingly seem to love and like each other.
@@rah62- Oh he was gay? I didn’t know that. I was 4 when this series came out but I was happy to stumble across it some years ago. It’s a lovely feel good programme.
i've watched this whole series a few times now, and i rather enjoy the evolution of the relationship between the two main characters. however, it makes me cringe a bit every time there is some statement about Laura that suggests she is somehow far inferior to her sister. yes, Laura is a bit of a lunatic at times (most of the time, actually), but... come on already! the sister is younger. so what??? they go on like Laura should be walking around with a paper bag over her head.
I know Mike's teasing Laura's preconceptions at the end but as well as that, is that an actual quote from him about "a lickie coat for my lickie bare back, and a pair of shoes for my lickie bare feet"?

Quite good acting, especially since the actor playing the husband was gay IRL.

A simpler time. How lovely!
@z Much simpler than coronavirus lockdown
5:14 Judy says: You know how time slips by... And she appeared in As Time Goes By also written by Bob Larbey.
Judi :) and I loved her in that as well
Loving this series!
Thanks) It was really beautiful and touching.
I wasn't left in a handbag at Victoria Station, from The Importance of Being Ernest.
Helen is such a lovely soul. Not a bad bone in her body.

10:10 Mum: Where's your friend?
Husband: He got left on the bus!
Mum: Did you have him wrapped in something? LOL

Truth! That’s the one part of the show that I don’t like. She may be younger, but Dame Judi is attractive inside and out.
Isn’t that the whole point?
Could you put subtitles cc on please. I am hard of hearing and I rely on subtitles. Kindest regards
that's not gonna happen Drew
Sorry double dots right hand corner
Funny show 😁

z oh, that’s sad. The actors being dead, I mean.
@@carolynworthington8996 Dame Judi is dead? When did she pass? I thought both she and hubby were still alive
@@CoExist64 Dame Judi is still alive but her husband died in 2001. She just turned 87 on Dec. 9th.
Reminds me of Mr Benn
How?
