Accusations about HYBE being linked to a cult are spreading like wildfire as of April 28, 2024. Korean netizens claim BTS fans have known about this for a while but kept it private for the sake of the boys. Now, with more groups involved, it's getting hard to ignore.
HYBE dropped a bombshell by announcing that RM from BTS would release his second solo album, “Right Place, Wrong Person,” on the same day as NewJeans' comeback.
In a post made by a netizen, they claimed to have seen Lisa and Frédéric at the Musée Rodin of Paris, an art museum dedicated primarily to the works of artist Auguste Rodin.

This music video OMG is told to be based on real life situation (told by the director since u seok). ADDITIONALLY, in the min hee jin conference video, bang si hyuk told min her jin through text message “you were blackmailing/threatening me with the OMG music vidro”. However, this part of the text message have been blurred off later.

hybe was threatening one of the ador employee to make Minheejin get fired(since she complained about ILLIT having similar concept to newjeans). and hybe also released all the fake news about minheejin too which actually made minheejin weird at the first. then minheejin thought it was really unfair so she had an interview. after the interview most of the people(koreans) got on minheejin's side. so hybe start using Bts as their weapon to get army(bts fans) on their side. army knew hybe was being dirty so got mad about it and demonstrated about this in front of hybe building today.

I see so much copying from all the groups. I just thought it was a "thing" since they have been copying for years.
There is a big difference in using something 30 or 40 years old as influence and copying your contemporary, especially one that is from the same record company. Likewise, it's very different to use a senior group that is a decade older and appeals to a different demographic than it is to tie a new group to one that is the exact same age on average and is barely out of the gates. That is compounded when almost every element of the concept for the new group is a carbon copy of the other group. It would be a completely different situation if NewJeans members were established and in their 30s when Illit came out. That would be like Babymonster and Blackpink. Likewise, it would have been different if a group appealing to a completely different demographic (a boy band) came out as a brother group or if the concepts were completely different, e.g., it was no big deal for Le Sserafim to promote NewJeans because they are very different groups by both age and concepts. I quite like Illit so far, and I love NewJeans, but there is no moral equivalency between having NewJeans ride the coattails of a boy band that had been around for a decade and having a group averaging 18 years of age replicate another group on the same label that also averaged 18 years of age. It hurts both young groups.
Especially the monetary differences.
