Just wanna say thanks for all of the great content and games man. As a lifelong Giants fan it doesn’t get any better and I appreciate you posting these!
Summerall: "They sort of smother you. Don't they?" Madden: "Well, they do. They're like surgeons and they do it from every angle. It's not just the offense or the running. It's the defense. It's the special teams. It's the kicking. They get you from every angle."
@@kevinburke6055 I'm still going for the 1986 team. And I could take Mark Bavaro any day. No, I don't think I could! Mark#89 is one of my top five all-time favourite Giants players.
How come this team doesn't ever get mentioned with the goat teams. All three teams they lost to they also beat! And two of they're loses they avenged in the championship game and superbowl! All while ending the 49ers 80s dynasty and denying them a 3peat and derailing the bills 90s dynasty before it could start. Because if the bills win that game they don't go 0-4 and definitely win multiple superbowls in the 90s IMO.
If Jumbo was healthy the entire year, they go at least 14-2 and have HF advantage. They won this game without Jumbo and Banks, too! Even the guys on the '90 team forget how good they were.
I always say if the Buffalo bills do beat the Giants that year we might have saw the greatest team in NFL history roll through the '90s they just lost their confidence in those super bowls after that game but not during the regular season they used to beat the hell out of those NFC teams during the regular season the next 4 years but during the super bowl they would just struggle against them but if they win that Giants game and I'm a cowboys fan saying this I don't know what we see the bills might have rolled off three or four super bowls in a row winning them they were that good
@@richiebee1984apologies for the delayed response, meaning you probably have the answer already, but it was the Phillips. Beat them at home 27-20 on opening night and lost to them on the road in Week 12 I believe, 31-13.
@@tonymyers1756 Aside from 2 playoff games in the 2020-21 season, the playoff games (save for ESPN's game) are part of the Sunday packages that NBC, FOX and CBS have and that includes the conference championship games. Therefore, FOX is keeping the NFCCG for years to come. Ditto for CBS and the AFCCG. CBS and NBC bid for the 2 extra playoff games that took place in Jan. '21 and the deals for those 2 particular games had no conference affiliation attached to them, which is why CBS got the Bears/Saints 1st-round game.
Lol..steve deossie..a leader and great backer on any other team..he doesn't even fit in..that's how great these linebackers were..banks carsons reasons and Taylor..his son zak was a great snapper for many more years..a true giant
It's amazing how the Rams just fell off the face of the planet the next season. This was the same team that had beaten the Giants in the playoffs a year earlier that season. The Giants coming in at 8-0 and the Rams 3-5. The Rams wouldn't get back to the playoffs for another 9 years and it wasn't in LA but in St. Louis. The amazing thing is that the Rams of the 1970's and 80's were a consistent playoff team especially in the mid 70's and early 80's. They just couldn't get past the VIkings and the Cowboys except in 1979.
This dsnt make sense to me, how could nyg@ram go on at same time as gb@rai (17:50) which is also a cbs game? Someone has to explain to me, maybe an la native, one guess I have is league could count on rai not selling out thus the ability for the local cbs to show just this game here
There is footage in the beginning showing him on sideline carrying clipboard and cast on wrist. He missed several regular season games but was back for the playoffs. This was the year Pepper Johnson flourished.
I don't no about that. Like some giant's fans say Simms should be in HOF, Simms was little above average at best, 80's giants defense carried Simms, there was a lot of games Simms was really bad. Just saying. I never considered Collins a shutdown corner. not saying he wasn't good
Anderson dropped a few big ones put right on him and away from defenders, including a sure fire home run td. Ellard had alligator arms in a few tight windows, and they weren’t hospital passes. 89 let the Hail Mary ball bounce off his helmet before halftime. Some potential big runs for Gary were there, and he tripped over his own teammates
YOU ARE THE MAN!!! LOVE The 1990 Giants!
My favorite Giants team of all time
Love that 90 Nyg squad
Mine too, not only my favorite but the greatest Giants team in the Super Bowl era, IMO.
LT...we weren't the best team but we played best as a team..great days
You won't see that anymore..nfl is different now
@@michaeldec698 Actually, they were the best team. That's why they won the championship.
One of the sweetest wins of that season after having our hearts broken by them the year before.
Pat and John did a lot of the Giants games. Nothing better.
Loved watching OJ in the open, squaring up and plowing through people.

Football poetry!
That year anyway
They were great synchrony together. Summerall and Madden forever. Rest in peace to both.
Thank you! I had not seen this one. I'm always on the hunt for Giants games from the 1990 season.
AWESOME! The revenge game on the SB25 domination tour!
1986 Giants were better - just! Thanks Ken for all these great games!
That’s precisely why I love this team more. We all figure the 86ers would take it, but this team just refused to die the death most of us expected
Mark Bavaro said the 90 team would beat the 86 team. Interesting comment by him

Thx for the upload been waiting 30 years to see this game
Revenge for 1988 and 1989
Huge Giants fan here. Love the content! The Rams need to go back to those fantastic uni's and helmets. The ones they have now are terrible!
nice! thanks for posting

The REAL NFL on CBS, the NFC version. I wish CBS could get back the NFC package ASAP.
It'll continue getting all-NFC matchups in its next NFL TV deal. It won't be all AFC stuff.
@marcus813 thank goodness CBS will be televising some NFC games. That would be awesome if CBS can televise the NFC championship game.

Last year they show the 49ers vs Cowboys playoff game and last month Rams vs Buccaneers
Thank you
Marcus DuPree NFL debut. ESPN 30 for 30 brought me here.
Merry Xmas to everyone watching.
Physically dominant!!!
very very nice bud
keep uploading games
Everett’s receivers really let him down this game.
Even the Hail Mary before halftime had a very good chance yet bounced off the guy’s helmet
This game, along with the LA Raiders/Packers game (also played in LA) both aired on CBS on this day. Wonder which game CBS LA showed.
I what to see Giants vs 49ers 1991 week 1
Watching this to avoid watching the embarrassment the Giants will put out there vs. the Rams tomorrow.
Where was Tillman, I've never seen him touch the ball.

At 38:40 the bottom screen said Chicago 8-1 start was they're best star since 1984. When they started 12-0 in 1985?
Good catch. It had to have been a typo. They were 6-3 through 9 games in 1984, which is worse than 1985, 1986, 1987, or 1988.
what about Marino vs LT ....who would u take ..? from NY perspective they have those two rings but u never know with someone like marino !

This Rams team of 1990 at the beginning of the year was picked to win the super bowl by several magazines

Back then they threw less flags
Marcus DuPree is in this game for the Rams?
I was at this game.
I'm going to ask two potentially stupid questions, where is Carl banks in this game? Was he injured in a previous game?
Banks had a wrist injury in 90
There is footage in the beginning showing him on sideline carrying clipboard and cast on wrist. He missed several regular season games but was back for the playoffs. This was the year Pepper Johnson flourished.
nice!
Pat mistakenly referred to San Diego Chargers' running back Marion Butts as "Marion Barber".
Payback for the divisional playoff loss in 1989.
Mark Collins should be a HOF er

Mike Lansford last of the barefoot kickers
It was !00 degrees, why did the Rams wear their blue uniforms.
😊
Marcus Dupree- the best that never was. 30/30 episode.
Marcus Dupree!!!
The play at 1:52:10 would be called today for hitting a defenseless receiver
Probably.
