  • Here is the final regular season game of the 1990 NFL season. The 12-3 New York Giants face the 1-14 New England Patriots in Foxboro before a crowd that had more Giant fans making the trek to Foxboro that weekend. This capped the worst season in New England franchise history while the Giants were at this point tuning up for their playoff run that culminated with their second Super Bowl in franchise history. James Brown and Randy Cross with the call.

    I remember the Giants team from ‘90 and how they played. They had a way of putting defenses to sleep by gaining yards little by little and then eventually spreading the field a little more by throwing intermediate passes

      I believe this seasons Super Bowl is just before the first Iraq War it's crazy how both teams that played were from New York, and both teams' colors were red, white, and blue. The big market team won out that day. I believe by one point I can imagine how much money was lost that day. Who would have thought the bills' offensive machine could be held under 21 points very unbelievable.

    Love JB, but you knew it wasn’t a great game when he was on the call. Great upload, sir. Everyone remembers the Norwood wide right kick about a month later, but as just a fat little kid watching in Chicago, I remember the NFC Championship game even more. Remember vividly Roger Craig’s fumble which led to Bahr’s winning kick. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Parcells run before like he did immediately after the ball went through the uprights. SF would’ve beat Buffalo and had a three peat. They were amazing, which made the Giants win even more incredible.

    • @ramram349
      @ramram349 Год назад +1

      San Fran didn’t have the running game they had the previous years. That would have been a BIG problem against the Bills.
      And the 90 Niners wouldn’t match the Bills score for score either.
      Your prognostication of a Niners three peat is foolhardy.

    It's amazing how the Giants offense would play like crap for two weeks against the lowly Cardinals and the worst team in the Patriots in this game. Then the offense turned it on 2 weeks later against the Bears and the defense holding the 49ers to 13 points. It doesn't matter because the Giants got it done and won the Super Bowl when it mattered.

    If memory serves, Giants eked out a win, Hampton broke a leg, and although one gave the giants a chance in the playoffs the rest as they say is history! This was also the last RS game as a Giants’ coach for Parcells, Belichick and Coughlin. Little did we know that come training camp our coach would be Ray Handley!

      @@gman5-035 I think they would. Hostetler is an unsung hero but Simms was the highest rated QB in the NFC until he got hurt. He knew how to run that offense. I think the 90 team was just that good but they didn't get much credit. Still my favorite Giants team of all time.

      Heck of a run of excellence. Eli’s SB teams weren’t great in the RS. His best RS team flamed out in the division round .
      ‘88 Giants were 0-4 versus NFC playoff teams & one Montana to Rice pass in Week Four from being Division winners
      Jets in week 16 that season hurt badly
      I was at the game versus the Falcons in October’88 here in ATL ( where I still am )having just moved down from NY.
      Carl Banks single handedly won that game for us

    So the Giants in two of their Super Bowl winning seasons ended the regular season playing the patriots. The other one was 2007 the very famous good loss vs undefeated Pats which helped propel the Giants to a Super Bowl run which of course ended vs the same Pats team in SB ending perfection
