Great video Miles! Do you think you could add a kickdown test to see how fast the gearbox responds to flooring it in comfort mode? I think that would be especially helpful to understand overtaking capapbilities. What a great car, love that V6.

However for day to day or long distance commutes, the RS5 strikes a very good compromise. I suspect most M3 owners don't push their vehicles to the point where the handling dynamics are that much better or more noticeable.
I love the styling of this car, I know the interior gets some negative reviews especially for the nav screen but it doesn’t bother me too much. It’ll be interesting to see how they update the interior for the next gen, I’m hoping that the exterior will look just as good as it does now. If I had the money for this or an S5 I’d probably stick with the S5, seems like it would be a bit more comfortable to live with and the 3L V6 honestly sounds better than this one.
I was about to buy a used 2021. But I had a pre purchase inspection done and they said it needed new brakes soon, it had 30k miles. When I called Audi and another mechanic they said it would be about $8500 to replace them. That freaked me out and I backed out of the deal. At least for now. Having a hard time deciding on getting a used RS5 or save about 10 grand and get a brand new m340i fully loaded exactly how I want it. I know the RS is a bit quicker but I’m not that hung up on straight line speed and I don’t plan to go to the track or do much twisty road driving. And that B58 can make a ton of power with minimal mods if I ever do want to go fast but the RS5 can dip into the 2’s 0-60 with just an E85 tune. I’m trying to suppress the “which one is faster” factor and focus on which one is a better place to be on Highway drives and traffic/city commutes which is where I do 98% of my driving.
Beautiful car. I was hoping to finally see you review the 2022 S5 Sportback, but in your experience, is there much of a difference ein the RS5 and the S5? In looking to buy an S5 soon but haven't been able to test drive it yet.
The power difference is significant, and the RS customization is pretty solid. Styling is pretty similar, so if that's more important, you can save the $ and get the S5
@MilesPerHr How is the power difference significant? Maybe on paper it is. I had an S5 Sportback, and they are much closer than you think, especially at higher speeds. My RS6 (2013 model which I had until 2022 having done 139,000 miles !!) was great and had this suspension set up. The V8 engine was still mint after all these miles, but the suspension failed big time. So going for something fixed was my choice.
