15:45 slight correction - the standard RS5 does not auto upshift in manual mode. It bounces off the limiter.
Also, at 17:06, the awd is a Torsen based system that is 40:60 front to rear split by default and can send as much as 85% to the rear.

Just signed for a 2018 S5 Sportback, I also love the steering wheel, and I definitely prefer the noticeable lack of piano black trim. The newer infotainment is set up better but the MMI control wheel is better just for the fact that you don’t have to use a touchscreen. The newer model’s matte carbon trim is maybe a little nicer than the gloss carbon though 🤷🏻‍♂️

@Milesperhr. Great review of the RS5, thanks for saying that this has a power sunroof. Lots of YT Reviewers don't mention whether it has a fixed or power sunroof. I was wondering what your opinion would be on this. If you had to chose between this RS5 Comp or a Cadilac CT4v Blackwing with 10speed auto which would you choose and why. Your opinion would be just from the Driving experiences and not about practicality of a Sedan. Just purely from the prospective of pure overall experience.. Thanks.

    • @MilesPerHr

I loved the CT4 Blackwing, but not the 10-speed auto. The CT4 BW with the Manual is a phenomenal car - better to drive than the RS5 Comp with better steering feel a more responsive chassis. That said, the RS5 Comp is much better looking with a vastly nicer interior. The CT4 BW is tens of thousands less, but the interior reflects that price.

There are a few inaccurate information in this video. The RS4/RS5 does NOT have a front biased AWD system. It's actually rear biased. What you referenced in the video is the RS3, which is front wheel biased and only sends 50% of the power to the rear and is capable of sending 100% of that 50% to one wheel.
For an ease of remembering. All S and RS models abover the RS3/RSQ3 are rear wheel biased.

Too much gloss, piano black interior pieces in the majority of the Audi model lineup.
These _never_ age well and in the great state of Arizona, they tend to be a safety hazard due to the reflection of the sunlight. Although, this Competition package does omit a large portion of that gloss black in favor of carbon fiber which I applaud.
Furthermore, I am personally not a fan of these new Audi gauge clusters. The current Audi and BMW model line have the ugliest gauge cluster in my humble opinion. Especially the RS mode with that odd looking dual staging tree design which animates in the opposite direction. It's awkward to say the least.
Not to mention, Audi's tend to feel more and more disconnected* the further they slip down the electronic rabbit hole. I miss the days of the B5 Bi-Turbo Audi's. They were the last of the truly mechanical Audi's before everything went full digital wizardry.
My vote still goes to the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. Great review nonetheless Miles.
