*Apologies, but those are not ceramic rotors in this video. Americans get the Ceramics standard, they are optional in Canada and elsewhere and this particular RS5 did not have them* What other Audi models do you want to see on this channel?
As a former owner of an Audi S5, having driven the new Audi RS5 Sportback for a few days, here are my takes. As far as the positives - it's pretty fast, has secure handling, and an attractive style. As far as the negatives - an absolutely back breaking ride. It was so stiff, I couldn't drive in it for past 2 hours. You can feel every single bump in your back. My friend noticed it too! The seats are super tight and cramped, and exhausts you quickly on extended drives. The pedals are straight out of VW. If you aren't using launch control, add about a second to that 0-60 acceleration time. The exhaust is noticeable, but doesn't have any interesting sounds, just some pops and crackles in a muted fashion. The infotainment lacks physical dials, and you can't connect two different phones simultaneously, like an Android and iPhone at the same time like in BMW - and use one for CarPlay and the other for Bluetooth music. The 360 camera quality is not the best, and the angles look awkward on the sides. There is no 3D view like in the S6. The self parking is also far less advanced than BMW as well. The Harman Kardon audio system sounds OK at best, and doesn't feel any different from the audio in a base Q5. At higher triple speeds on curvy highways, you will feel some understeer. The steering wheel could be more thick and sporty, and doesn't differ at all from an A5. P.S - My RS5 review is on my channel, if anyone is interested, along with 0-60 dragy tests.
Drive a competition… I had a 2021 RS5 and it rode very rough but the ‘23 competition is a completely different suspension and actually rides and drives way different and fyi the competition doesn’t have self parking only regular RS5’s
Nice review man. I wonder how your impressions would differ when compared to the competition model. The suspension can be tweaked to your liking, but you have to set it manually with the provided tool.
Waiting for my Ascari Blue RS5 Comp! Build out in Nov this year. The reason I went for it - it does not have the M3 face and that its not a 4-cylinder AMG. :) Also - the Competition option is 10k USD now. So doesn’t start at 78k (78k + 10k + other options) Competition option used to be 16k but this year Audi was not able to gather the materials needed for the ceramic brakes for any of their RS models. Other things not covered in the video for Competition option - Reduction of 35 pounds of sound deadening material between the engine and the cabin, which means its louder - Those gorgeous competition wheels reduce 4 pounds on each corner - Competition comes with Matte carbon fiber inside and outside whereas standard comes with gloss just inside - Competition comes with sport direct steering - Different shift tuning also - Standard ride height is 10 mm lower and can be lowered to a 20 mm total with the adjustable coil-over Imo a whole diff car than the standard RS5 Gotta cover more stuff man! But great editing/transitions in the video
Too bad you don't have more subscribers, I love the style of these videos and think more people would love to seem them too. Keep it up, you'll get there I imagine!
I recently picked up the 2024 RS5 sportback competition. Not a fan of the Alcantara steering wheel because you have to maintain it more frequently than leather. Also mines come with rear heated seats.
Love this channel and the filming is fantastic your reviews are informative, I appreciate that you spend a lot of time driving the cars instead of just talking about it like most car reviewers. I have 2 requests that I’d love to see. Would love to know your top 5 favorite cars for speed and luxury that will hold its value. Also would love to see you review the Audi rs6 avant 2024
I just purchased a 2023 RS5 Competiton plus. Want to double check something. Does yours have a line across the hood? And all the way down to the wheels? Its hard to see in a picture due to reflection
2024 RS6 performance plz! I have an allocation. The car will arrive in Dec but in Vancouver though. Ascari blue with blue stitching and gold BBS lightweight wheels. I don’t mind of lending you to do a review.
I have always wanted an Audi and I remember when the s4 first came out and I was in love. Todays Audis design is starting to show age . they used to look allot more aggressive. I finally can afford one I ended up buying a BMW m3 COMP Xdrive instead.
It's a beauty but the rims are pure cheese. Holy cow an actual full spare! If you think it's not a big deal think again. My previous M3 and current M4, no spare and it's unsettling on long trips.
have to disagree. run a 2023 rs5 comp, and driven the c43. The c43 way more crashy . Most comp owners will tell you the coilover suspension is more comfortable than the air suspension on the standard.(a well known failing of that model)@@DMCarReviews
@@stuartlloyd-jones9583 Just drove another RS5 Coupe with the owner, and we both came to agree about the super harsh ride. Video is on my channel. The C43 rides much nicer
You should mention the options that you can get with it. For example you can option heated seats for rear passengers..just a thought would be nice to know these things as consumers. Other than that nice job 👍.
Great video! Some feedback: As an Australian, we measure engine power in kilowatts and torque in Newton-meters (nm). I would love it if you included the kilowatts and nm measurements under your horsepower and torque text overlays!

As a rs, i prefer a coupé, for the family we have the S5 sport back with all the sports options. We are in the process to get a RS5 but in coupé, shorter weel base and just WOW design coupé look. For a one car, i understand the RS5 sport back .... WAY BETTER than any "sport suv" the andling is just at an other level
Body style and interior is getting real late in the model cycle (like old) but still looks great. WARNING: Brake job for the steel rotors is $8,000 CDN!!! Super expensive brakes. Be warned.
@@letsplaylplp that makes sense. Only leather round steering wheel option for North America. I have a 2022 RS5 but I installed the alcantara flat bottom steering wheel from the RS6...so much better.
I understand they are not the only manufacturer who does this, but Audi because of the price point, needs to kill the Tablet glued to the dashboard styling. There’s other ways.

You're scratching it just by looking at it. All that piano black everywhere will take extreme upkeep. I swore I was going to stop buying black cars about 7 black cars ago lol
I had the a 2022 RS5 Sportsback, beautiful car but lacking in handling and acceleration even with a 034 stage 2 tune, lowered springs, sway bar and intake. Drove the RS5 Competition and it was much better with improved steering and handling but not any faster. Test drove a BMW M3 Competition RWD and bought it immediately. The M3 Competition is superior to the RS5 including the RS5 Competition.
Why is all of your 0-60 time tests about 0.2 sec slower than other reviews? Are you mistaking 0-100kmh which is 0-62mph with 0-60? I hope not because that would be a hilarious mistake from a car reviewer
I agree, it is nuts. I love my modified 2019 RS5 but it is fully optioned with the carbon fiber kit and only paid 70k back in 2020 when small business owners were selling their expensive new toys. The sticker price breakdown had it for 120k and I was able to snag it when it only had 1800 miles on odo
Audi at least needs a black rim option for the RS 5, and also for the S3, and S5 and half their cars. the rim options for the non competition RSs are not good, that 80s wanna be rim is really bad just don't fit the car. They also need that Kialami green color as an option for the RS 5. that color is amazing. or what happened to that real nice green that was in 2022 on the RS 5? it was deeper with a gold flake.. that was a nice color. anyway, black rims for the cars...all black.
