Me being a long term Honda/Acura guy having owned 2 Civics (2007-2012), 1 Accord (2015), 1 TLX A-Spec (2018) and now an RDX A-Spec (2021), i just find it impossible to accept that Acura has priced their entry level performance car anywhere near $60,000 (with delievery, admin fee's) and now see listing within Ontario for these Type S Integras's for near $70,000!!! I had initially put a deposit on a TLX Type S but after seeing the early performance numbers, decided to not get one and got my RDX instead. Now i'm looking for a 2nd car that is fun to drive. A low mileage 2022 BMW M240i or M340i which have XDrive and nearly 400hp can be had for between $60,000-$65,000 and even new ones start around $70,000. Acura and Honda have lost their minds with prices so the RDX will be my last Acura/Honda product. I'm not the only Honda/Acura customer that feels that way... i have numerous friends and co-workers who feel that Honda/Acura have lost their way and are not producing/pricing competitively against other manufacturers.
I’m with you. I purchased the ASPEC Integra manual last year (that was a relative cheap date). My dealer, who I have bought two other cars from, knows I’m interested in trading for one of these. However, as I said to him, at this price I might as well move up to an M2. I don’t see much value in it. I have issues transporting my family in it. The passenger seat lacks any height adjustment and my wife complains she is on the floor (It’s supposed to be an Acura - not a Civic DX). My older father almost fell into it and hurt himself and even for me, the car is too light / tinny to be so expensive (not a bad thing at a good price - but it’s not much different than my wife’s late 1997 Honda Civic from when I first met her back in the day). The ELS stereo is ELS light. It’s not nearly as good as their other products. The lack of onboard navigation, while not a big issue, presented a problem for me in Northern Vermont one day with poor cell phone coverage. I think they missed the mark on taking out things like memory seats (available on the cheaper non type s models) and the sunroof (I get it - weight but at the same time they tuned this version for better on road performance). It’s simply not a BMW. Remember, their target demographic is exactly as Mike said. Me. Middle aged, have some disposable money, looking to relive some of our youth, have other vehicles. However, I still buy based on some sort of value. It’s a really tough one now unfortunately. I may be too old for it. I see more value in the S3, and like I said M2 (I can order one at MSRP light on options for only a little over $10K US more). Even the Golf R. P.S. Forgot to mention that my mother in law wacked her head on the sloping rear roof getting into the back seat. The vehicle is actually not as functional as a Civic. 😉
The price is outrageous in a way. You can get into cars with a lot more power and more quality materials ( m4, rs3, not American cheap plastic) for the same money, slightly used. Tough decision to make.
I can respect that. It's always good to have options. I'm not sure why Acura couldn't have at least made it an option for those of us who cherish it. Think about it. It's being sold as completely loaded yet its less equipment. Make that make sense. If carmakers think they can get away with this you are going to end up paying more for less and less.@@quells2119

What I love the most is the type S exterior really builds off of the aggressive body style the '18-'23 Accord Sport/Civic Type R had. Which, unfortunately, the Accord/Civic just doesn't have that oomph any longer. Now if only it had the accord/civic tag lol.
How do you mean? There is a Civic Type-R. I would have bought one, but the the dealer wanted a $15,000 markup. The 2023 Type-R is what this car is based on.
They purposely dulled the Accord appearance to shift sales to Acura for those looking for a more sporty look. The Accord use to take sales away from Acura.

I'm a major car and Acura fan however if this thing is 76k, I would love to drive it and give it back soon after. 76k is to close to my electric Porsche that I'm way more interested in actually buying. I could have never ever imagined a day where an Integra would one day cost 76k.
The old integra freakin defined my life for such a memorable period.. thank you Acura for not fucking this up. You better not have or else your cult following would be heart broken.
3200 lbs is the weight of a full sized car in the 60s and 320 HP puts it in the same league as my old 64 GTO. Difference is you can drive this faster without white knuckles and this should be WAY more enjoyable and reliable. I'd buy one if I was willing to spend 50K for a car but I'm not.
Aint nothing beating the price for power infiniti q50 vr30. Can buy right now for 30k. Tune it with downpipes, exhaust to over 460hp. Front and rear sway bars, pilot sport tires and the car will gap anything out their for just under 40k.
I test drove it. Kind of heavy feeling..was powerful just not sure how it would be banging around corners at high speed. I just was not sold for the money it cost. Great looking car but in the end it just wasn’t for me. The interior with that read was alright looking but was not a super fan. This cars kicks ass off the line but for the price I went with BMW. I just trusted the steering a ton better. Felt safe around the corners and with the rear wheel drive was awesome. I signed quickly for it.
@@benderaviation I picked up a 2023 230i in pearl black. If you can grab your hands on one. They didn’t make a ton of them so my dealer told me. I luv the car…I test drive an M2 and it was nuts,,,this model is just as good. Got the 19 inch wheels in her and she looks great. The drive is amazing and control is as good if. It better than a Porsche. Only problem is I will be going thru tires slot. But hey that is the price you pay. Cheers
Great choice. I think the 230-M235i models are a compelling alternative at the price point. I just sat in both the type r and type s and it's hard to accept a nearly $60k OTD price. Especially with the interior. The S felt more luxurious but its civic roots shine through. My dealer had no markup on the S except for $2k in dealer install accessories, while the Type R had a "flexible" $20k markup. I think a 1 year old used Type S could be a great value. Time will tell.
That's the only problem that Honda doesn't give there cars enough performance (except NSX) weak specs , awesome looks, feel.I still want one but i think I'll get the TLX s type
I’m not sure if, for a long term goal, I want to save up for this, or go a bit cheaper and snag an Elantra N… The Integra looks better, the hatch is awesome, and I love me my Honda products, but it also doesn’t necessarily come with a heck of a lot of features for a car that’s so expensive… the N also comes with a DCT and while I’ve loved driving stick in my old Accord 6-6, in traffic (which is PLENTIFUL around here.) it REALLY gets old… and I honestly don’t mind the way the N looks, plus a better warranty… tough decision! This is my dream car, but maybe after the mid-cycle improvements or another generation it’ll be more appealing!
0:27-0:30 That sure is a lot of body lean from a simple low speed turn, on a $55k+ car that’s marketed as a phenomenal handling vehicle. Just saying 🤷♂️
2024 TLX Type S for me .....i say 24 because they fixed and added everything i hated yeah needs more power ill be selling my 2021 Camaro 2SS 1le to get it so i hope power difference dont bother me so much but i def need a change ...
This car looks good until you see it on their website.. the lines seem off. You have to see this car in person.. it looks better than you think. I did price the car for the fun of it, if I was to purchase it and it came to just over $60K
Elantra N 5.2 0-6 35k plus tax your talking 30k less than this acura and more at some dealers too!! They have ruined the excitement of this car the dealers and Acura this should have been 48,900 msrp to start tlx is 54,900 msrp I mean come on here

I'm a major car and Acura fan however if this thing is 76k, I would love to drive it and give it back soon after. 76k is to close to my electric Porsche that I'm way more interested in actually buying. I could have never ever imagined a day where an Integra would one day cost 76k.
Nice Ride
The old integra freakin defined my life for such a memorable period.. thank you Acura for not fucking this up. You better not have or else your cult following would be heart broken.
How are you expecting a spare when weight is key in this segment? Perhaps CAN is different than the states.
An Acura RDX Type S will be fun
I prefer the bigger rims on this one but still a sexy, slick chunk of metal
As much as i love manual, once you get used to super fast auto shift with paddles, it's hard to go back.
Which BMW did you end up with
@@benderaviation I picked up a 2023 230i in pearl black.
Which one is better between this and the TLX type S?
I'm older, and if I coukd getva nice performance car, I would get this in Apex Blue Pearl and the white/dark grey or black interior.
You get a lot more for a lot less money with the Si, and Type R Honda over the Spec A, and Type S Integra. And an awesome raised racing spoiler.
Do you use a 1ft rollout for your 0-60 times?
No
That's the only problem that Honda doesn't give there cars enough performance (except NSX) weak specs , awesome looks, feel.I still want one but i think I'll get the TLX s type
This is 3rd video I’m watching you and you are the best
looks great
i was at the dealship the other day.. the shifter feels really good.. i might just buy a knob for my accord
Titanium feeling shiftknob? Does that feel different then any other metal shifters?
Yes. Aluminum and titanium I can differentiate from steel or tungsten😂
The best looking car Honda (Acura) made since the 1990's.
Would you say it outperforms the 2024 Mustang gt?
Hopefully they make the rear passenger area more comfortable.
Perfectish
The only thing missing is a sunroof!!!
Just from the intro I feel like must of us like the car I wanna test drive one but it seems like everybody agree that honda/acura nailed this one.
0:27-0:30
That sure is a lot of body lean from a simple low speed turn, on a $55k+ car that’s marketed as a phenomenal handling vehicle. Just saying 🤷♂️
Most definitely the car of the year
The hatch is amazing . I've put people in my hatch before🤪.
That it’s a nice xp
endive street car not a track car 320 horse s for a4 cilíndreme it’s good
The way you move seems like you are rapping to a very dope song
I have a acura type s 2007 and the 0-60 is 5.4 with full bolt on😮😮
Would you take this over the CT4 V BW? Both manual cars and similar prices considering the mark up on this
150 more HP and ventilated seats. Smaller backseat though. I’m eyeing the 4V BW.
CT4
Got myself a 2023 tlx type s about 4 months ago. Loving it so far, but a part of my brain wonders if I should have gone with the integra.
2024 TLX Type S for me .....i say 24 because they fixed and added everything i hated yeah needs more power ill be selling my 2021 Camaro 2SS 1le to get it so i hope power difference dont bother me so much but i def need a change ...
2023 where driving a stick is lowkey a flex 😂😂 i love the car, the only thing i don’t like are the rear lights, they look too much like an Infiniti 😪
Yup im Getting this .. 💪.. please be Gentle on the mark up😂😂😂
When you said 3mm wider for wide body, did you mean 30mm?
This car looks good until you see it on their website.. the lines seem off. You have to see this car in person.. it looks better than you think. I did price the car for the fun of it, if I was to purchase it and it came to just over $60K
Why the acura gonna be less costly insurance wise ?
CTR thanks
Welt , schaut auf dieses wunderbare Auto . . . . .
The reality is with dealer markups this car will be approximately $60K+, which I wouldn't pay for an integra.
Good review. You gotta change out your lights. Ruins all visual lines of the car
Feeling some kind of way about rev limiter in 1 st gear...sounds like too much tech control in a manual 🤔
Thanks for the review!! So glad I live where no front license plate is required 😂 Just ruins the whole look
Dope car, just wished it made a bit more power from the factory
Why it is not available in malaysia😢
Why is it so hard to get a Japanese 2-door hot car? Hatch would be best.
This or a used Rs3?
Start in second for best 0-60
In black is so beautiful
Can you link us to the music? so sick!
OUR WXRLD BY ROONIN
Elantra N 5.2 0-6 35k plus tax your talking 30k less than this acura and more at some dealers too!! They have ruined the excitement of this car the dealers and Acura this should have been 48,900 msrp to start tlx is 54,900 msrp I mean come on here
Please manual and automatic transmetion
Where is the 5 seat option?
Over by the corner of boring SUVs
@@gabrielflores1149 1 seat short of greatness and Uber!
You could buy it from Acura and make it a 5 seater. It’s been done already
@@trigganometry168 depends if you live in a jurisdiction with regulated insurance or not. In Canada you risk the insurance company declining the claim.
@@ismailkhan9698. Insurance company’s aren’t that smart. Especially since the conversion is OEM Acura parts.
