Been using imovie for about 5 years but just started RUclips in June 2019 and started using it on a more consistent basis so about 10 months on a regular basis
I remember wanting to get a mac 10 years ago to have iMovie and edit videos for free and giving up because it didn't have everything I needed. You've just given me everything I needed to make semi-decent videos! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN THE LAST 10 YEARS?
Looks like imovie has improved quite a bit. For people who are doing basic edits with a bit of the functionality of final cut pro or a similar editing software, this looks like a good option!
Been using iMovie between the iPhone and MacBook for several years now, but I learned a few things in this video. I wasn't aware of the keyframes and didn't know that you could select a range to mute a small section without splitting the clip. Thanks. I'll definitely use those.
i've been using iMovie since 2002 ...then moved to Final Cut 12 years ago till now...sometimes i still use iMovie for simple n quick editing projects..only use FCP for detail projects...... n thanks for this video, now i could maximise the usage of iMovie without even going into FCP..
I've been using imovie for a few years now. You've just taught me a load of tips that i never new existed. Top class tutorial. Thank you. (from England UK)
All of this is GOLD! Man I've been editing on my phone with iMovie but have needed to update my skills and take my editing to the next level. Thank you!
I used iMovie for 3 years, upgraded to FCP because I had a 30 minute movie to work on. Been using FCP for past 3 years. I just came back and edited on the new version of iMovie and was very impressed. Your video is GREAT, learned a lot. Back in love with iMovie. Thanks.
After googling 80% of what you teach in this one very to no avail last night, I found this video at the top of my imovie tutorial searches. I've made 5 videos so far and I can't wait to utilize what you know into my future videos. Thank you. Liked and subscribed.
I've been using iMovie since 2013 when knew i wanted to start youtube, and I'm starting to use it again im not gonna pay 300 for final cut .I loveeee your tips thanks
This video is such a blessing! I have always been told/been under the impression that iMovie is super basic and doesn't work well if you want really good videos but you have changed my mind. This is an amazing video. Thank you!
Thank you for the clear and to-the-point video! I used waaaay old versions of imovie years ago but since starting to use the new version I had no idea it could do half this stuff.
You are an angel lol. I was editing on my phone because I refused to get a Mac, 😫but now that I have a Mac, I was struggling editing my first couple of videos. Thank you so much!
I have been editing with my iPhone for 9 months. It does not offer all of these options but I should receive my Ipad any day. Trying to learn a bunch of this stuff before it arrives. Great video, thank you for sharing!!
I learned After Effects 30 years ago in school and havent done any editing since. I really like iMovie. Thank you for reminding me of the L and J cuts, they are amazing tools

Just started using imovie. I was limited to fast forward an turning music up or down. Just trying to intake all the information and remember it is where I'm struggling. But thank you I will probably watch this a couple more times. I needed these tips.

I've been using iMovie for about a month and a half now and I am very happy that I stumbled across this video. I didn't know that I could do the majority of these things with iMovie! I'm ready to start applying these tips to my channel. Thank you for sharing!!

This series is so awesome. I am in the process of learning how to edit on iMovie and your tutorials are very timely and helpful. Many thanks Think Media :)
I wanted to edit some of my videos at a decent level for my Instagram and to be clear, I didn't know anything about video editing. and after watching this video, I'm pretty confident that I've invested my 30 minutes at the best video for this specific topic thanks man and keep up the good work.
WOW! Think Media..you guys are AMAZING! I've used iMovie for several years, but mores in the last several months. Several people have told me to switch to Premiere because iMovie is limited. I didn't know iMovie could do all this. I'm not going anywhere, and can't wait to apply them to my own channel videos.
I haven't started using iMovie yet. I've had it on my Macs for 16 years now and never attempted it. Now I need it, so thank you very much for your videos!
Outstanding, thank you! I've been using iMovie for only about 2 years, and never went the extra step to learn these pro tips and tricks. This video was clear and concise. I'm a subscriber now.
I feel so basic. I've been using iMovie since I was 5, and everyone else has switched to Video Star or AE. I've tried everything, but can't get used to anything else. 😂
Ive been using iMovie for quite sometime, I would say maybe 3 years. Didn't know some of this stuff. I actually just downloaded another editor on my laptop because i was getting bored of it. Thank you for reopening up my eyes to more possibilities! super cool!
Ok, so I watched until the end. I am so grateful for your easy-to-follow teaching style. I promise to let you know each and every time I implement your teachings. Stay tuned.
I'm a first time Apple user for all things apple and just got my Mac Mini and was trying to look for videos on how to use iMovie. Your video is very helpful. Thank you.
Just made my first RUclips video using iMovie last week. Now, after watching this video, I will certainly be using some of these tips and tricks for my future videos. Thank you ❤️
Oh mate!!! Your * Command-Option-V * shortcut to replicate setting is a winner!! I just colour graded the first scene, as my lighting and colours were off. Then I highlighted the next 20 scenes, hit those buttons to replicate the setting and BOOM!! Thanks so much!!
I am absolutely overjoyed to see that these are Tips and Tricks... not a single 'Hack' in sight! BRAVO, this is a great video. Best wishes from a recent Mac convert. 🏆🇬🇧
Inspiring...I’ve watched graham for years and now I follow you and it’s encouraging to see people adapting to the modern world and giving me inspiration to do it myself!
This was very helpful for me who's been stumbling through iMovie for just a couple of months. I especially liked the cloning (not that I want to see two of me or even one!) and also the export tips. I've been frustrated going from the iMac resolution to the RUclips resolution and the key will be to use the custom setting! Thank you!
I've been using iMovie since 2013 and I've never realized it has so much more to offer! Thanks a million! Now our family vacation videos would be more exciting to watch after applying what you showed me! Now I'm a follower! :)
Hi Sean thanks great video!!! I am brand new to iMovie I have always been a spaz whenever I tried to use it. One day while shopping I gave my 5 year old daughter my iPhone to keep her occupied. It blew me away when she gave it back and showed me the movie she made of me shopping. I think it's time for me to finally take all my videos and start to use iMovie to make them more enjoyable. Thanks for giving me the inspiration to try again. Hitting the Like and Subscribe now!
This is day one of starting to post on youtube. I want to be a consistent poster, so I genuinely appreciate learning all of these tricks and hacks as I start to edit my vlog. Thank you for taking the time to share with us what helps make your videos smooth and successful.
I have just begun my very first project using iMovie. I have only published video as I recorded it. Starting with an M1 Mac Mini I am trying to teach myself how to produce video. Just subscribed to your Think Media channel.
OMG! I am going to watch this video over and over again. This is by far the best iMovie tutorial that I can actually use in my videos. I love it and I am going to watch other suggested topics in this video too. I’ve been using iMovie on my phone for years, just doing the basics and I that I have a Mac computer I need more help. Thank you so much.😘
WOW I'VE ONLY BEEN USING iMOVIE FOR MORE THAN 8 MONTHS NOW BUT THIS IS THE MOST INFORMATIVE VIDEO YET, THANKS A LOT MAN YOU DESERVE A VUVUZELA MY BROTHER

Thank you for a fantastic video. I just started using iMovie tonight. I’ve been making and uploading videos for a couple of days and have finally decided to start editing them beforehand for a more polished product. Thanks again. Cheers, Ian.
I’ve been using iMovie for a little over a year and I’ve NEVER known how to do about 80% of these things! I’m SOO GRATEFUL! (This video is going to my favorites incase I need references again!)
This came at the perfect moment! No joke I was thinking I need a paid editing app to make my videos better and I opened RUclips and this was the first video that popped up! Thank you for this!
Came across in regards of my exporting doubt. So now solved my problem. Your cloning and exporting is 👌. Thanks and stay safe my friend. Regards from Australia. 🇦🇺🇵🇭
I used iMovie on my iPhone since year 2017, but I switched to use MovieSpirit since year 2019 as iMovie has many limits when I tried to do some advanced edits. Personally I think MovieSpirit is the most easy one for beginners as it can overlay multiple layers as we need in one go and it has more editing functions comparing to iMovie.
Just got my first Mac, an m1 to start working on go pro footage. Awesome tips here, the audio separation and fade, with b roll is so easy and smooth to do.
This is great! I’ve been using iMovie for three days. Switched to a Mac after using a PC my entire life and just 6 days in. Definately a learning curve. Question, after I practiced the audio editing you showed now my music sounds when I scroll the timeline thru the clips. How do I turn that off?
This was FAB!!! I've been working with iMovie for a couple of years (but only seriously that last few months...) and this gives me more things to play with I didn't know about or understand. I love using quirky additions to my vids; this is going to be so fun. Thank you.

It’s really great for quick projects or on a slower Mac. If I shoot with good lighting and have some extra shots planned out…iMovie will do the job.
