  • In today's video I discuss Stan Bowman's time as General Manager in Chicago with the Blackhawks. I judge his trades and signings and draft picks to determine if he was worth the hassle to hire as GM with the Edmonton Oilers or if they should have targeted someone else to run the team. If you want to know my thoughts on Stan Bowman on a personal level and his history of scandal in Chicago you can check out that video here: • Edmonton Oilers Name S... #oilers #blackhawks #nhl

As for your last video, I have so much respect for you for calling it out like it is, and not falling for the PR stunts they are trying to use to clean Bowman's image. You're a real one Austin, much respect for your hard work.

The worst part is probably probably this decision was made months ago, it’s not like they interviewed anyone else that they were considering

Austin, Why on earth would the Oilers do this? The second someone mentioned Bowman on air, Jeffries said oh I didnt know Bowman was available. Forward a month later....SIGNED. Everyone in chat and in youtube comments said NO TO STAN BOWMAN. Yet..they still did. To me this is a Katz signing.

    • @AHockey1993
      @AHockey1993  Месяц назад +3

It absolutely could be, but Katz is pretty hands off for the most part and lets his guys do the work. Plus Jackson and Bowman go back quite a while so it might be someone he's wanted for a while 🤷‍♀️

@@AHockey1993 Ohhh, didnt know they were connected to each other. Makes a little more sense. Hopefully hes not there to clean house over a period of time, seeing as he gutted Blackhawks etc.

I wished jackson would've been smarter when hiring a gm, it's stupid decisions with oilers management is why oilers never get respect and are a joke in the nhl

Why the hell would JJ take a risk like this with someone who has this track record. I hope he knows something we all don’t but it doesn’t look good. Bowman’s asset management is just disgusting. Jackson definitely dropped the ball with this one

I agree 100% based on historical data that it's hard to comprehend why he ended up being Oiler's GM. However, there is always the other side of the coin. Given the amazing decisions that Jeff Jackson has been making lately, has anybody even try and think what made Jeff Jackson consider Stan Bowman despite the other candidates for GM?

You should do a nhl 24 oilers franchise mode. That would be really fun to watch

Put getting Split season seats and possibly buying the powerpacks on hold.
Truly disgusted with the choice the Oilers made.
Yes, he has 3 cups, but he had little to do with putting that team together it was Dallon Tallon who put the building blocks in place for those cups, not Bowman.
We'll see how it goes. The anger in Edmonton is pretty high over this. It would be great, in my opinion, if they got rid of him before the seaon starts. But that only if a couple of things happen if the team loses a lot of money over this (Sponsers, ticket sales, Oilers+ ect) or if players start asking for trades not to be around the guy

Bowman! As an Oilers fan this breaks my heart. We have the best fans in the world, as a reward we are stuck with this heartless monster that covered up and protected a sexual predator, allowing them to offend again and again. Until this man is fired, my wallet and support are shut off to this organization. I'm not watching a single game, buying a single jersey, or supporting them publicly in any way. Some principles cannot be compromised, and I will never support those that allow young men to be assaulted by protecting the predator. any one that stands up for Bowman is a clown and should be treated like a clown. disgusting on so many levels. shake you head Seravalli Jeff Jackson Kats or any one that supports this guy should never be in pro sports own a team or speak on a media platform ever again, and if any one think he deserves a second chance, then there also a clown.

Ofc bowman didn't really build the core of the 3 cup titles or the entire 2010 cup team that was dale tallons work but the other 2 cups in 2013 and 2015 have his fingerprints all over them. Obviously his tenure was pretty solid at first cause of that i mean trading for guys like frolik, stalberg, oduya, handzus, desjardins, vermette, etc and signing guys like emery, raanta, darling, richards and panarin and drafting guys like saad, teravainen but once the hawks got butchered in the first round in 2017, he happened to do more bad questionable moves than good ones. Ofc moves like drafting debrincat and trading for guys like strome were good moves but everything from 2017-2021 were rough moves for sure.

On one hand I get it, the absolute firestorm he would have faced on DMs would have been insane. There are people who don't seem to know how to express anger without threats or other horrible comments towards others, especially when they're anonymous and online... but at the same time, dude's gotta own it IMO.

SMH I just learnt he did the Romanov Danault trade which really helped us get a final run and Kirby Dach and the service of both players. Sounds like hes gonna do a similar blunder with Savoie and Holloway getting some vets. This is a big yikes. He might get us a cup but also might completely screw our future. I really wanna be positive. But this signing overall just looks very BAD. Not gonna give a grade yet because its unfair. I feel like D- is almost generous. Though. 😅

Firstly just wanna say it dosent matter if hes the G.O.A.T gm. You cant excuse what he did.
On the positive end, im happy to see you back.. Im still gonna hope the best for us. I think Hunter was a better GM. If he can aquire us a backup and get us far in the 2025 playoffs ill be happy. Im hoping to see an extension for Draisital to be honest. Could see also him moving our young prospects like Savoie and Holloway for some pieces

JJ is his boss, not like he will be able to get away with bad trades. I think was hired for other purposes.

  •  Месяц назад

2010 decade Blackhawks were built by Tallon not Bowman but Bowman took all credit and glory out of it. You dont necessarily need THAT guy.....There are better GM´s

well tallon did build the core and the entire 2010 team yes but 2013 and 2015 had bowmans fingerprints all over them with moves he made such as drafting guys like shaw, saad, teravainen, etc and trading for guys like frolik, stalberg, oduya, handzus, desjardins and vermette and signings like darling and richards were all his moves not tallons. Not trying to defend him by any means, i am just summarizing it realistically as a whole not just the core or the first cup win
