  • "The explanations that Putin is giving to the public is that Russia is actually fighting with the West and with NATO as a whole."
    Putin has been telling the public that the Ukrainian incursion into Kursk is actually the West, but this lie "isn't sufficient" and Russia "isn't buying it", says Senior Lecturer in Conflict and Security Dr Domitilla Sagramoso.

    What bugs me is that Russia won't admit that they have been out thought, out manoeuvred, and completely out played at every turn by Ukraine. It's always that they are getting help. They really do seem to think of Ukrainians as a lower form of life. The sheer arrogance of them just leaves me dumbstruck. They cannot give them the slightest bit of credit.

      How wrong you are in believing that a person is the root of the problem. The country has been behaving in the same manner before you and I were born. It is a socio-cultural and geopolitical problem that will never go away unfortunately.

    Ukrainian Armed Forces need to establish a strong defensive line every three to five kilometers as the incursion expands further into Russia's territory intending to hold the newly captured territory for future swap land for peace if peace negotiations occur.

      You the right about the 6 weeks but French deaths from all causes for the whole of WWII including its colonies were 210,000. The French army that fought Germany in 1940 was only one million, about the same size as the invading German army.

    Last year I saw narrative from a Russian soldier that he had been given a gun and a week's training, 10 rounds of ammo, very little other equipment and just "dumped on the front line, only half a km from the Ukrainians and NATO." Then the rest of his platoon were killed and he was wounded and eventually had the luxury of being POW.
    This year, there are other Russian troops behind you who will shoot you if you try to surrender.
