orionzeden some people insist that you can't like one band because you don't like x band which supposedly is 'greater'. I, for example, don't like black sabbath, which, ironacly was very commerce oriented band. But not only that, I don't like how they sound. I didn't like Dio too. But I do enjoy motorhead a lot. I like sweden melodeath along with many other genres which do not even originate from metal scene (for example Enter Shikari)
Anyway, some people think they can call me poser because I supposedly attempt to pose as a metalhead or deather or whatever the fuck they have in their minds, but do not like those particular bands. That's retarted. It's like they put a label on someone themselves and then judge you for wearing it. But even if I was that narrow minded idiot, who difines himself through the genre of music he's into, such judgment would be utterly stupid.
Anyway, I find your opinion here which suggests that the OP would be wrong under your named condition to be somewhat familiar with the experiences I sometimes get myself into durning music festivals.
You guys seem to be very aware and intelligent in this subject matter, and both are correct. There's no need to analyzes our comment in such detail though, just listen to what you enjoy :)

Absolutely. But I've listened to British bands for a long time now dating back to the Beatles and Rolling Stones and Shikari is top of the heap for me at this point! Been listening since 2007 and they have only gotten better with each album
This band is a complete breath of fresh air. They are innovative and creative in their music. They are also socially aware. They preach freedom and liberty from the shackles of traditionalism and dogmatism. They admire science and its method. They are extremely human and seem to enjoy exploration and promote curiosity. Thanks Enter Shikari - a truly remarkable band.

i do have many songs i don't like by them, i feel like sometimes they go too far with the synths and i know they can do better but that's just my opinion, some of thier earlier stuff will always hold a part in my heart.

Timeless for sure, their older stuff still sounds modern . No one has really tried, or been able to, copy them which is how they retain their unique sound and it stays unaffected by time.

Rob is the most performing and experimental drummer I've ever known. His style is so badass, difficult and nice to hear :D Enter Shikari's drum parts are the hardest i've ever tried. I definitely love that band :D Speak of a drummer.
I have to disagree with you in terms of being the most experimental. His drumming is basic but clean with his trickier parts mostly consisting of paradiddles and off beats, definitely nothing to be amazed about. On a high note though he is without a doubt one of the hardest working and entertaining live drummers iv had the chance to see, and that to me is far more important that skill and technical ability.

Still listen to this record every week without fail...this is their Master Of Puppets record so to speak. Their swan song of an album. It's absolutely AMAZING all the way through. This is my fav track on it. I only wish Destabilize was on this.

See what I really love about this band, is that when I feel like humanity sucks and theres no reason to even trying being nice to anyone cause theyre just egocentric jerks anyway, these guys give me hope. Music transcends colour, it's all about soul
A Flash Flood of Colour is a monster album, easily their best
It made lots of sense. It represents how the music industry forces out copies of the same old generic music which isn't as good as something original, and how we need to stop this.
take to the skies is a fucking amazing album, same as common dreads, but some of the tracks from flash flood of colour are fucking incredible. pack of thieves, warm smiles, search party, they are some of Shikari's best work man.

its not just targeting mainstream music, its more about how in music in general and as a whole the artists of a genre will make an exact replica of other artists and how very few bands actually have any unique attributes, so its not just pop/mainstream music, its the music industry as an entity

One of the strongest songs they've ever written and probably my favorite on AFFOC. Which is really, really hard to quantify because the entire album is a joy to listen to in one sitting.
