    Corrections(I made a couple of mistakes):
    Dark Knight:
    - Accidentally said plunge prevents healing when I meant reduces
    Paladin:
    - I forgot to mention that their shield also give a mitigation
    Astro:
    - I forgot their aoe was changed it now only inflicts cc on the initial target
    White Mage:
    - Minor clarification, I said Miracle of Nature prevents actions, however, they are still able to move
    Monk:
    - *Less of a mistake, and more something that was brought to my attention* Their lb tooltip is apparently wrong(or it's just bugged), and it will do max damage even if the target is guarding
    Please let me know of any other mistakes so I can update this comment.

    As a Frontline fanatic i have to say Gunbreaker is so underrated I cannot express how strong and deadly it can get. Unlike other tanks GNB is very independent and flexible. Depending on your play style you can Junction according to the situation you are in which is charming to me. Being aware of your surroundings to know when’s the time to throw all your burst to get a kill or two or back off.
    Not to mention that Relentless Rush + Double Down is a guaranteed kill if you have BH 2 or higher.
    Great video!
    Keep up the good work.

      Thing is that the main strat for fighting is for mages and ranged to poke, and for melee to dive, so you either need to be good at dive (DRK), or be good at counter dive to protect your backline (WAR), GNB can't do either, from what I've attempted with GNB, But I'd love to try it out again so if you got tips for FL I'm all ears

      Honestly the buff GNB has received since 6.1's initial state have bumped them up ridiculously, that I think people don't really realize how good they are in tense fights. They are only really lower tier to some other tanks in specific instances, which as you mentioned is negligible as they are very versatile and can change to according to their needs, especially now that they don't need another tank to junction off anymore. Be it Frontline or Crystalline Conflict, they're exceptionally difficult targets now to shake and their DPS output is absurdly high in terms of actual tangible damage, you see it happen to casters and other specialist melee DPS all the time where they just get focus fired by the persistent GNB until dead despite all the resources they throw out to fend them off, they just can't keep up without two other people turning around to help, nor can they outrun the GNB either.
      It's good to see GNB becoming more viable compared to where it was originally, but it does feel way over tuned in some circumstances now, as at the end of the day, their durability is still that of a tank, regardless of their stance, it's just a matter of how perspective as to how tanky they are versus other ones, especially Warrior which at least outdoes it in controlling the field so technically would go down faster than the others in a vacuum without support, but with FF14 PvP as is now, who doesn't?
      So in short we can say, yeah it's underrated, and some classes haven't gotten the memo yet to up their game to compensate, love having them, hate dealing with them. :)

      @@Zadka233 actually GNB is pretty good at diving BUT not so frequent and obvious as DRK. Because GNB kind of dive is through its LB which can stun a whole group of ppl in vicinity or push the enemy back at least. just pray you don’t get a shit load of status effects during LB.
      As for for party utility there’s nothing but a heal you can use on yourself or a party member (a strong heal and regen at the same time). Other than that GNB can’t offer anything.
      Only tip i can think of now is GNBs gab closer gives a 7s (14s if needed) dmg buff that can make your burst even stronger. Try to optimise your rotation with that buff and not waste 2 charges of a dmg buff for nothing.

    Awesome video, BUT I do feel like I need to say some things. (I'm referring mostly to CC)
    Scholar: u said it has no kill potential which is true, however, if played well, they have the potential to outdamage the DPS and tank players due to their abillity to apply an aoe 22.5k dot that can be further increased if u have a Bard or some other dmg buffing job in ur team. Also their limit break makes ur team nearly unkillable IF u stay close to it. Something that really annoys me whenever I decide to be a masochist and play Scholar in PVP is when people don't follow up on the buffs I apply. So, a tip for everyone, if u see a Scholar in ur team, stay close to them ESPECIALLY at the beginning of the game, so that they can apply their buffs to all of u AND make sure to engage AS QUICKLY as possible to have an advantage over the enemy team with the buffs still active. You get a shield, a dmg buff and a dmg reduction buff, so u pretty match easily win the first fight unless enemies have a Scholar of their own. People almost never realise that advantage and tend to waste these buffs letting them run out.
    White Mage: If u guys see it, PLEASE, focus it as hard as possible. This job is WAY too broken.
    Tanks: Stay on the Crystal. That's it. You'll win more. It's ur job. U pretty much only should chase people when u are guaranteed to kill them quickly and that means if they have 0 mana, low HP and there are no healing points active close by. Otherwise not worth chasing.
    Samurai: Unless something's changed, their LB doesn't exactly one shot. It does 100% of someone's HP, meaning... If u have a shield and full hp, u will survive with just a a little bit of HP. That makes every job that has shields extremely strong against them, since u can potentially just waste their LB that has a very long recast time anyway. Also.. Sometimes it's worth to use the LB even if u didn't manage to apply Chiten, it's still a 24k aoe. Won many games by doing just that.
    Machinist: U can solo 1v1 every melee and range DPS in the game. Just stand in ur turret. Also, for the love of god, DON'T put it down in the beginning of the game hoping that some idiot walks into it. Mostly they won't and it's an extremely powerful spell, so use it either defensively on urself or put on the crystal, u will keep ur team shielded and increase the dmg enemies take on top of doing dmg to them.
    Black Mage: It was mentioned, but I'll say it differently. If there is a BM in enemy team and u are not focusing them, no matter if u are a tank, healer or DPS, u are DOING SOMETHING WRONG. Can't stress this enough. Just focus them. If u let a BM free cast with or w/o their LB, u will just lose the game probably and quickly.
    Bard: Not worth focusing, there are ALMOST always better targets.
    Red Mage: Not a caster. It's a melee dps (in PVP). You should very rarely use their double cast abillities, not that u will get a lot of chances. It's more of a hit and run job in PVP.
    Jobs with buffing Limit Breaks (Astro, Scholar, Bard, etc.): Don't wait. Just use it as fast as possible when ur team is grouped. Every death on ur team's side means u get way less value from ur LB.
    Summoner: Phoenix is way better than Bahamuth. Prove me wrong.
    I'm not saying all of these things are facts, but I've played plenty of ranking games in CC in Diamond and Crystal and hope it could help.

    • @antarath517
      @antarath517 Год назад +1

      Note for SCH, a lot of your damage gets wasted by hitting non-priority targets, often their base regen will almost completely counter your DOT.
      In a team that does strong sustained AOE like dragoon or something, it will still be very useful though. Also, love the damage dealt reduction.
      *Usually* it will be better than adlo boost, but if you have lb, just use both
      SMN Phoenix has less favorable damage patterns to Bahamut, but I absolutely agree that the healing carries it past Bahamut almost every time. If the enemy team is very single-target focused, like NIN, MNK, BRD, etc, Phoenix will likely go to waste, Bahamut might take those.

      @pwk50 Год назад

      @@NoName-zh1jzit's not at all. As Bard or BLM for instance, you should only stay on crystal if ur team is losing, it's overtime and it needs to be contested. The person on the crystal will automatically get focused (unless we talking about bronze/casual, but I don't count those here), so just naturally it should be the tank. I obviously didn't mean that tanks should just mindlessly stand on the crystal for the whole game, but something I see happen VERY often, including high ranking games, are tanks chasing after people and ignoring the crystal. This is bad cuz 1. Ur team is not grouped anymore and 2. Cuz if enemy tank is still on the crystal (considering they have one) u pretty much automatically start losing cuz ur team will either die or get pushed back. Also tanks usually don't have very high kill potential/burst in general, except for some niche cases like a Gunbreaker running around with dps junction, so them chasing after kills usually just ends up with them dead.

    • @NoName-zh1jz
      @NoName-zh1jz Год назад +1

      @@pwk50 Yeah, hence why I said it should be everyone’s main job and not only the tank since pushing the crystal is our goal to win. If the game is smooth or you’re in an advantage then feel free to attack from any range, but if the game is looking pretty rough or you’re at a disadvantage then you have to focus on pushing the crystal back to your advantage, and someone has to at least push it, not just the tank. Even if you’re played a job like BRD where you have to be max range to the most damage, you still need to push the Crystal if no one else is doing, it’s a team-focused area in CC and not a role niche.
      If otherwise, tanks should mainly be focused on taking the most hits since they have high HP and good mit to live longer than other jobs. But healer? Melee? Phys ranged? Caster? Everyone is responsible for pushing the Crystal, and that’s the issue with ranged players causing matches to be thrown because they don’t try to push the Crystal when melees and tanks are dead.

    • @armorparade
      @armorparade Год назад

      @@NoName-zh1jzthis is something i wish more people understood. it isn't the tanks job to automatically hold the crystal, it's a shared job. a tank can't stand on that thing forever, they have to be given room to rotate off and pot, push the line forward and harass people with their damage/cc, and create space for others to rotate as well.
      everytime i see a mch who refuses to stand on the crystal i just shake my head because it's almost a self-fulfilling prophecy. they're convinced they can't stand on the crystal because they always die when they try to hold it alone. but then they don't help their tank hold the crystal ever, and so their teammates are generally dead when they do try to hold the crystal- so they have no hope.
      instead of properly rotating, the only times where they stand on the crystal end up being times where they will quickly die for trying to do so, so the idea that they shouldn't ever stand on it gets ingrained into their heads.

    As someone that played a little too much of Endwalker PVP I gotta say, CC and RW are possibly two of the most fun PVP experiences I seen.. not so much Frontlines, that one is a diceroll.
    If I could recommend any classes to those interested in PVP I would say this:
    AST is a very versatile healer that gives a lot of buffs and does solid dmg, you can do some nasty dmg if you use your LB and get lucky with your card and the double system can get you some extra utility. Along with that they have the most Healing in PVP compared to other healers.
    PLD which is possibly the tankeist of all the tanks and the best crystal pusher in the mode, along with that you can make your allies immortal with your cover ability, seriously they can use their Elixir while you are covering them.. juust remember to guard or you will die instantly. Though they do little to no dmg so be warned, still you are going to do a lot of work being THE Tank during a match.
    GNB while most underestimate it for being a tank, they can bring a lot of utility and damage to the party, being able to use Juction to get certain abilities can not only make up for if your team needs some extra damage, but when used with heals, you can act as a extra Healer during Crystal pushes, which trust me, can be one heck of a life saver (Heck you can even use your Regen on allies). Be warned though that GNB is not the best 'tank' so you aren't going to be as sturdy as others, BUT you will bring way more damage and even some heals.
    DRG is a VERY High Risk High Reward kinda class though at the same time it's very simple, just remember to keep an eye on when you use your Life of Dragoon Buff/debuff and pair it with Horrid Lore and you should be mostly fine. Still be careful since you are one of those classes that is made of paper.
    BLM people underestimante the power of this class though be warned, like it's PVE counterpart its one of the more complex classes.. and yet it can completely make or break a game, thanks to the gigantic DMG they get that honestly its kinda amazing considering you can put constant dots AND do 12K dmg from afar but what I think makes it so dangerous is Ice, if you get 3 stacks of ice (which is easy), you can stun a enemy for 3 seconds, which on pushes will completely melt certain classes like DRK and DRG, sure they are the weakest in terms of HP but they are just great at basically everything, they bring some of the best long range dmg, Crowd Control that will make your enemies want to die and it might get to a point where they will try to focus you down with how much you do. Its a tough class with how fragile it is but god its REALLY good
    Are these the best classes ? Not really, AST support is great but WHM has way some of the most annoying stuns in the game along with a lot of dmg and quite a bunch of heals, PLD can be a bit dependent on coordination when it comes to cover or you end up covering someone that uses their guard and you eat shit, GNB is a jack of all trades which sometimes aint too great for a tank and can be ab it dependent on yours and the enemy's classes to get best use of their Juction system, DRG has no CC and can be easily melted and BLM when focused is kinda useless at times. BUt these are all classes that I think give some good show of what's interesting about PVP in FFXIV, they bring a lot of fun quirks and abilities that I honestly wish PVE had aswell.
    And one more thing, if you are new and hated pvp because of Frontlines, give CC a chance, Frontlines is a really clunky mode compared to the other two and it really gives a bad show of it.

      Note my knowledge is mostly from Frontlines with some Rival Wings when it was Moogle Tome (and thus not a wasteland - god it needs a daily que like FL, imo...so fun, but people just don't run it outside of Moogle Tomes; maybe next time more will since so many people saw how fun it was this time!)
      WHM outheals AST in most cases, I've noticed. I can consistently do a bit more healing with WHM than with AST, too. I think it's a close match, though, and I've topped the charts with AST fairly easily (I think a lot of people just don't use healing tools a lot in general for whatever reason?). That said, I also got most healing done once with SGE, despite it being way less heal focused. Never have with SCH, though, despite trying...though I HAVE, amusingly enough, got top DPS (lots of spread Bios). I don't see many SGE's in Frontlines, though...
      I mainly only do healing, though I have also dabbled with SMN when Moogletomes were up and my Rival Wings 4 man group already had 1-2 healers. SMN seems to do decent damage and have party support options with its CC and Phoenix, and some crazy damage potential. I may try it out in FL some, but I seldom have parties so awash in healers that I feel the need to switch. I don't think people underestimate BLM, though. Not since they were super buffed in...6.2, was it?
      Can't speak to Tanks other than playing around with PLD with a target dummy, though, so will defer on that and Melee/Ranged, too, which I haven't touched.
      DRK and DRG seem stupidly powerful right now, especially together where DRG can gather parties for DRG to one-shot down. And the DRK ability that does this is NOT their LB, so can be frequently used/near-spammed.

    For GNB, the statement that the "GNB is the least durable of the tanks" is somewhat misleading. You're correct in that they NEED to be in Tank Junction but once they are, they are the hardest tank to kill. On top of the shields gained from Continuation and Hypervelocity, you get a 20% mitigation that deals damage to enemies that hit you. No other Tank has constant shield build and an applied mitigation that lasts for 10 seconds that threatens counter kills on a single button press.
    In contrast, PLD has a measley hp shield that can be bursted through, WAR needs to land Orogeny which can miss (meaning players outside will hit you for 100% damage) and DRK has Salted Earth but has to stay in position to use it, meaning knockbacks, pulls and fears completely negate the mitigation.

    • @TheNastyNamazu
      @TheNastyNamazu  Год назад +4

      Paladin heals from every attack they deal every 10 second + the heal from atonement, their shield also gives a mitigation along with doubling as a cc if so desired, and then there is their lb
      Dark Knight has salted, darkest night, their Quietus, and then there is their lb
      Warrior doesn't need to land orogeny they just need to use bloodwhetting giving a shield and causing them to heal for the damage they do which under their lb means that basically every enemy hit heals for 16k on top of being cc immune. Orogeny, and to an extent primal rend, just adds to their durability
      Gunbreaker has to sacrifice damage for bulk, and while the mitigation and shields are nice they don't surpass survivability the other tanks have. Drk/War can be bursted one second and be full health in the next, and paladin has straight up immunity on top of constant healing.

    • @AeontheWeeb
      @AeontheWeeb Год назад +3

      @@TheNastyNamazu Whilst perhaps you are numerically correct, you're not taking into consideration the tools that other jobs have to hinder the Tank's ability to regenerate and mitigate and the current meta of coordinated 1 GCD bursts to disabled opponents; the GNB is more consistent in that regard and is more likely to survive. The LBs are also not an issue if the Tanks are killed throughout the match, preventing them from charging, therefore they are not a constant threat at every single moment of the match compared to the default tools GNB has.
      DRK salted like I said is easily countered by position displacement attacks and prevents you from utilising Line of Sight to limit damage exposure; GNB are not affected by this. TBN is an 8k shield, GNB can build 18.2k shields from just their continuation combo with the No Mercy buff. Quietus is their best tool but can be easily outranged due to it's 5 yalm radius and how tickrates work. It is incredibly good but inconsistent as you need to hit 3 players minimum to have it be more than a standard recuperate and outheal one singular player's attack (for reference, Phlegma is 12k damage). With Salted Pull that is somewhat easier but GNBs have already closed the deficit with their shields, Nebula mitigation and bonus 3k heal per recuperate under no mercy.
      Bloodwhetting only grants a 6k shield which is even less than TBN so it needs the Oregeny debuff to help mitigate. Even then, it is still only 10% compared to Nebula's 20%. The healing from damage is definitely a strong sustain tool as outside of LB they can heal 8k per hit even if they theoretically hit only one person. However, all their defenses are active abilities, which means kiting, stuns, silences, binds will immediately make them fragile. This is why you see WARs Primal Rend into one person at match start then immediately get bursted by the remaining players they failed to stun. GNBs can pre-apply Nebula before going in, giving them the largest margin for error.
      Paladin suffers from a similar issue. Atonement is a 4k heal and can be combo'd with Atonement activations from Intervene and shield bash for a total of 24k. Impressive for sure but you have to remember that in a full health engagement, heals are wasted. That means if you are not the primary target, the reality is would probably only heal for half of that total 24k. In terms of mitigation it is therefore less flexible and it assumes you have not been stunned, silenced etc. The 15% mitigation from Sheltron closes this gap and is in some ways just as good if not better than Nebula due to the shield it generates, but since we are in a 1 GCD burst meta, they are less likely to survive when stunned themselves. Rather their main appeal is being able to help sustain the team, but personal survivability is not as good as even the WAR because of this. The WAR can at least interrupt multiple damage sources.
      The GNB can achieve similar and at times better mitigation by just pressing one button and attacking one person; it is not reliant on uncontrollable factors to simply reduce incoming damage. This means there is less counterplay to the durability of GNB. Moreover, the argument that GNB does not do damage in Tank Junction is just untrue. In a single GCD they can do a total of 14.4k damage with no setup. DRK can reach a higher number but requires them to be at 50% HP to reach 10k damage for Bloodspiller which is already a death sentence, so in safer play it does less damage. WAR deals only 10k with Orogeny on a target with Onslaught and PLD only has Atonement spam. It does way more damage than other Tanks by default so it doesn't really "give up" damage.
      For all reasons above, I think you are underselling just how durable the GNB is in terms of pure consistent mitigation. Especially when you consider that you also receive damage per hit from Nebula, a GNB is incredibly oppressive to try and focus down. Yes all of the other Tanks become insanely powerful during their LBs but that goes the same for all LBs. I'm specifically focusing on the core kits.

    • @TheNastyNamazu
      @TheNastyNamazu  Год назад +3

      @@AeontheWeeb You say a weakness to salted is displacement, and while true its not really a common ability. Machinist and monk can push away, but this can be counted with a simple plunge. As for warrior and drk they pull the target to them; however, since they will most often be in melee range with the dark knight already, as their the frontliners, it's not really that practical. Moreover; it is safe to assume that a drk will be able to get 3+ target rather consistently as the vast majority of jobs are either melee or have abilities that put them in melee. In fact most the cc maps have rather various checkpoint where it's almost a guarantee.
      The same applies to warrior, and while yes there are those who jump in and die that doesn't mean their playing the job correctly. In most cases if that same player blood then used onslaught to engage they would be fine as they can follow up with a rend + cyclone to heal basically any damage they take.
      As for paladin while yes healing at full health is wasted the fact that their healing is basically constant essential serves as another mitigation(at most they'll have to go 2 to 3 gcd, between every other confiteor, with out healing)as unless the enemy can stop them from attacking they almost always heal part of the damage dealt.
      Which leads use to gnb. The fact is healing is generally better than shielding. The second that they leave their cartridge combo the shields are falling off meaning if they were bursted they would have to used their recup to survive, and likely now need to elixir for mana so they can continue to heal. Where as the other tanks can heal with their kit saving their recoup thus adding to their durability. While their nebula is good it's not some ungodly mit tool that just makes them impossible to kill. If a team was able to burst a warrior to say 20% then nebula may let the gnb only go down to 40%, but the warrior only using their normal kit can jump back to 100% where as the gnb can make a shield taking them to about 60% that then disappears taking them back to 40%
      Also none of this take into account cc like primal rend or shield bash which just stops damage.
      As for the gnb damage point I didn't claim they didn't do damage they do; however, they still have to sacrifice their maximum damage if they want durability. It's kinda the point of the job they are a jack of all trades.
      Lastly, its not as if I'm saying that gnb is the piece of paper that falls over with the slightest breeze it's just when compared to the other tanks it is the least durable meaning it's still more durable than the vast majority of the other jobs.
      Edit: I will concede that on palaistra, which is much more open, gunbreaker may edge out against drk and possible war since it's easier for the enemy to spread.

Someone in one of my other pvp videos made a comment that they wished someone would make a video like this, and since my other pvp videos showed there was an increased interest in pvp, likely because of the glams, I decided to immediately start working on this because I figure a lot of people would be having the same want/questions.
      As for working with others I'm not against the idea in fact I would welcome it; however, there is the issue of one my personal faults which is a reluctance to ask others for help. It's just always felt weird for me to reach out to people for help on something I am working on. Mostly because I hate the idea of wasting peoples time.

    “The Lone Samurai” is a common concept but they made the Samurai suck in 1 on 1 fights and made his rotation extremely slow instead of being like the fun fast pace of his pve.

    How do you deal with the awful tab targeting? I changed to cone like people suggest but it still tab targets to enemies far out of range, instead of ones close to me (that I can actually attack) Other's say to click on the person but when they're moving with possibly 10+ other allied/enemy targets it's not always feasible.

    • @TheNastyNamazu
      @TheNastyNamazu  Год назад +3

      Their is an option to target closest to farthest which can help.
      In frontline honestly I would just go with aoe heavy jobs and not focus too hard on targeting specific people, or when in smaller groups then you can just click them
      In cc if I want more control I just click the enemy party list to target rather than tab. If you look at one my other pvp videos(not the frontline one) you'll notice that I have both my team and enemy lists close to the center of my screen and that is why.

    For rival wings i would say astrologian and scholar are much weaker since their buff only apply to your squads not to your team, so you basically buff only 4 ppl in total. Astrologian has at least the advantage for putting pressure on the enemy team. Sage does quite well in train battles and does overall more damage. The problem with rival wings is that your 4 men party rarely stay together. Whm doesnt have so much a problem here, Sage is expectional tanky in rival wing. The weakest healer is scholar so far, but it doesnt mean that he is useless.
    The tanks doing fine in rival wing, but it seems gnb has a slight edge over paladin here. I think it save to say the rating are similar to Frontline. It seems dark knight is the most hated tank there, well as long its in the enemy team and you fight for the train.
    Dps i think machinist, black mage, summoner, samurai, dragoon and ninja have quite high amount of kills.....since they are doing well against mechs and groups too. Other ranged have trouble to apply debuffs especially against mechs, but can still harrass them. Reaper and dancer LB dont function against mobs or mechs, but do well to defend your own mechs against attacking groups and open up some nice combos. For DPS that are extremely good in dueling, well they have their uses, but dueling isnt something that happens relatively often.
    Unlike frontlines its better to split up in different lanes, to achieve your goals like mercs, train or simply punching through.
    But again that is only my opinion. Its just a shame that rival wing, dont have the support as frontline in roulette.

"B" sounds like a good letter, but its the lowest one used and there are only 3, so B translates to worst of the worst in a game mode. Dont read it like "B = kinda okey".
