- Finally...the H pattern shifter I have been waiting for. Just an all out, no expense spared, effort that has produced an outstanding result.
A new level of immersion has been added to my rig with the addition of this shifter.

As I am watching this review I look down at my G29 shifter and my wallet in disgust
Hahaha man it even leaves the th8a in the dust and Logitech shifter has nothing on the th8 lol
I know right all I can afford is my G29, that thing costs more than the rims on my 370Z. it is almost the same cost as the real Quaife sequential.
@@gopherchucksgamingnstuff2263 My B&M short shifter in my Evo is less expensive >:(
haha
@@gopherchucksgamingnstuff2263 i could prob by 10 g920’s for the price of the one shiter
"its essentially a gearbox without the gears". so that makes it a box then
😂
Jesus Christ ive seen you in two shifter videos fu- screwing hel- heaven
You're not very smart are you. Gears or no gears inside, it still shifts gears in the sim.
@@bikerboy3k you don’t know bout joking?

I still dont understand how Barry don´t get more suscribers...who else uploads reviews with this attention to cover every single detail?? Love ya Barry!
I can tell you why...it's because 99% of the simracers out there can't afford what he reviews. So why bother watching a detailed review. It's like walking down 5th avenue and gazing at an expensive suit in the window. The guy knows he'll never afford it so he just keeps on walking.
SimRacer Mark Not true; I can't afford most of the gear he reviews but I appreciate an in-depth review as much as the next.
Well that's about to change. I'm running out of things to review, so I will be turning my attention to Logitech, Thrustmaster, and Fanatec. Along with any mods being offered for their products.
hope that makes your channel grow! 'cause you really deserve it!
ikr!
Dear Barry,
I haven't logged in my youtube account for a very long time, I really don't comment on any videos at all, don't bother to be honest, plenty of opinions out there already.
That being said, after watching for the first time on of your reviews (this one), I just thought to my self, I have to make a new password (I dind't remember the last one), and comment on this video.
An amazing peace of kit from Pro-sim, but a even better review from your part.
It's perfectly clear that you are a very knowledgeable person, and your speech shows that. Very fluid, very interesting, incredibly detailed, Very few repetitions (very rare in such a long video).
Please don't feel you overdo it, because all this is true information. No bullshit subscriver's/like's seeker entertainment.
It's youtube, not old television, less interested people can skip some parts if they want.
Hope you continue doing well with your objectives.
I sure do love to see somebody excel! Keep Going!
From a stranger to another, Good job and Thank you :)
Thank you for your comments.
You definitely are sim racing’s Bob Ross.... I really enjoy watching you review another outstanding sim racing piece of equipment!
Appreciate your reviews and the detail you go into on everything. You are the best on here IMO. Keep up the good work and THANK YOU!
Thank you for the outstanding review, I've been really looking forward to this one, hoping you'd get your hands on it. Looks incredible!
An amazing piece of kit on the only RUclips channel that can do it justice! Thank you.
So true! This place is hardcore!
Tempted to say "on the only RUclips channel that can afford it", but that'd be mean. Love the channel though, it's great for catching glimpses of a world beyond mere mortals. =)
I can't afford my rig but it doesn't stop me! xD
Thanks for your point of view, always enjoy your input. Take care and keep them coming!!
Fantastic presentation .. the Kit is nice, but it means nothing without a human that is passionate like yourself that puts in the dedication and sacrifices to make it happen . . I thank you.
I absolutely love the detail you go into these reviews. Not just on the item itself but mounting. The little details like how your seat may move into the shifter is just one of the many things that separate your quality reviews from all others imho. Thanks so much Barry my friend. Another amazing review. Now to finish watching.
Fantastic!
Thanks. Sometimes I think I go too far, but this is what I do to anything I get. Might as well shoot it. If you don't want to watch a segment, just skip it.
You’ve got an amazing setup there Barry. 👍🏻 now its even better. Love your work mate. Always very informative vids.
Great nordschleife lap Barry! You're the best! Review is as always pleasure to watch. Such a great channel. Greetings from Poland brotha.
Thanks Barry for your work.
Thank you man, you are great. I've watched almost all sim related videos from the very old Inside Sim Racing to new stuff throughout the years BUT I like your channel and videos the most. You review some products (almost) no one even heard of (even other sim racing channels) in such detailed and beautiful way. Whatever you review is the best review of that product, unbiased and always in a positive way and of course with every detail anyone would ever ask for. YOU ARE THE #1 SIM RACING CHANNEL
Thanks for watching!
your channel deserves million subs. I have respect for all the work you put in.
I've been looking for this shifter all over!!! Go Berry!
that 'thunk' is so satisfying. I hope these do well enough that production costs can come down in the future.
Great review, very in depth! Awesome rig and excellent driving!
Awesome review Barry, that shifter is now on the list of things we want.
Thank you, Love your shirt you were wearing during your final thoughts.
Great review on a very interesting product again Barry. Really really great!
Thanx alot for your review. Always had an idea to make something like this out of used gearbox but never had idea how. Now things seems much clear.
Always supported you Barry! Good job as always!
i don't know why- but i just enjoy watching these videos of barry's just to relax- his voice- the detail- very enjoyable.
Great channel, I love watching your videos even so I cannot afford the things you are presenting
Have been watching the progress of development of the pro sim h shifter. Great review mate. Hope to save the money to purchase one of these awesome pieces of kit.
Now this is what I call passion!! As the Carly Simon song goes...NOBODY DOES IT BETTER! Quite possibly the best hardware review I've ever seen on RUclips.
Thank you for this review, going in depth on the whole shifter. Heel Toe work made my day =)
absolute great review, thanks Barry
Outstanding review! Beautiful product.
Just subscribed, I was watching your videos for a while now and somehow I missed the subscribe button, won't happen anymore, very good reviews, very good tips and I always love watching the testing part of the video.
These reviews are awesome
This is a special piece...this is a great achievement..nice!
Amazing! Excellent review!
Amazing review as usual!
Really nice. Setup mate your driving is incredible
Great review, thanks Barry! 🏎️
Another great review! Thank you!
Wow, what an amazing racing sim set-up...! :o
Another awesome Vid Barry !!
I was looking at the early development for Quaifes shifters a number of years ago. There sequential shifters are impressive pieces of kit too. For sure the best available shifters on the market! Ok I’m selling my kidneys to get em! 😁
Amazing piece !!!
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES I WAS WAITING FOR THIS!!!
What a work of art! Absolutely stunning!! Would love to own one of these :-)
Ok - such a very detailed review earns a detailed feedback.....your reviews Barry are bloody excellent. Really enjoyed this one; especially as a sim racer who drives a lot of H shifted cars (F1 cars between 1967 and 1986) and historic cars, this was a vital review I thought I would have to wait an age for!!! Yet, here we are!! The detail you delve into, together with that non-condescending approach in the manner of your commentary, simply ticks all of the boxes for me! Still awaiting that CV1 review (although, here I sit with my triple monitors long gone and it is very doubtful that I ever return to trips) there are a number of other mods / things that I believe your should consider reviewing, if it fits in with your loooooong hobbies! (far too much of a gap between my Roland fixes!!). A good handbrake (go on! Rallying is good for you) is one such review a few of the subs may enjoy. OSW rim connection options - you have reviewed the SRM option (of which I have 2) but there is also the 3D printed quick release, which is a cheaper option which allows you to attach certain rims etc.... Anyways - really enjoyed the review - looking forward to the next. Thank you for giving your time to the community; a lot of whom will really appreciate it, me included!!
Ingenious use of hall effect sensing, seen other designs with switches, this is cool, beautiful design electronics-wise
amazing driving
The definition of plug and play!
Hello thank you so much for these detailed reviews. I've watched all of them especially the shifters reviews.. I made my own shifter a long time ago.. I come here to get ideas how I may improve it.. This shifter is very interesting.. I May try and make something like this..
Christ Barry 49:51 there's some demons in that 5-2 down shift haha idk why I'm just getting to this older video but was a good one as per!
Very nice setup
That’s the shifter I wanted, and I will get one ... now now, but next time
Sir you are very gifted.... you make a one hour video veel like 10 min vid. Very impressive
Amazing video best reviews on the net
Thanks for the Review! Please review the HE Hshifter when it's out.
Awesome, thank you so much!
That shifter is better than the stock shifter I had in the Mustang I use to own.
I got this shifter and it requires a learning process when simulating a dog engagement gearbox. But I absolutely LOVE it on PCars2.
Since no one has said it, nice driving there!!
lmao, he keeps overrevving during heel and toe's and unnecessarily going down a gear
Yep, I noticed he tends to get a little sloppy, when braking, which leads to his off-road excursions. I think that he's simply 'under-braking'; i.e. he needs more brake pressure or more front bias, at a guess.
Nice rippin in the Audi.
I lived in Germany for 5 years and I had to laugh at the way he said Nurburgring. Haha Anyone else? Awesome setup you got there and great video, thanks!
Given how thorough as Barry is, his mispronunciation of "Porsche" in a previous video surprised me.
Best reviewer, only one I'll subscribe to
You're the Goat!
Creme da la creme of shifters beautiful machining there 👍

Anybody old enough to remember the arcade game Hard Driving? It was out late 80's or early 90's had an h pattern four speed and a clutch pedal. The graphics were obviously terrible by today's standards but it did a very good job of simulating a manual transmission.
Something Funny yep, loved that game.
Something Funny
That was my favourite game EVER! :)
If I recall correctly, that machine also had a direct drive wheel
OMFG!!!! I need one!!!
seems like a knurled knob or some holes drilled for an allen wrench on each face of the nut inside for adjusting the tension on the large spring would make it quite abit more user friendly. amazing piece of gear and ill keep dreaming about having one
That spring is known as a C ring with the holes, hole less is e ring. Sometimes also a snap ring. They even make fancy little pliers just for em that bow out or in if you are worried about springing stuff off. Also cheap to replace of you do lol
sweet wish I could try it
Nice video ! I subbed
Just realized I had the same steering wheel in my Porsche 944! The OMP Superquadro I think it's called. Damn I miss driving that car.
This is the best Sim racing channel there is. Just the detail alone in this makes it a great Channel. I thank you for giving us and myself this much enjoyment in Sim racing. Keep up the great work and your subscribers will continue to show up.
By the way, how many drones do you own!?
A few! lol! A couple of those on the wall are for customers that I do custom builds for. Here is a link of some samples I have built and sold: imageshack.com/a/NUql/1
I like Indycar and Champcar racing - waching you drive and shift, I thought you was going to rip that shifter right out of its housing...LOL
nice driving :)
That voice! ❤️
As soon as my OSW DD wheel shows up and I think my Sim is done.. Barry uploads this..
I build rock crawlers, class 8 wrenching and some custom bike work, ok, that’s my background. You’re the first person I’ve ever seen run a tap with a power tool, lol, you gained a subscriber right there. Well done.
Edit: I’m glad to see you try to warn people to use the proper ring pliers, I would add they don’t have to be $600 tool truck sets, but don’t try to get precision results from Northern Tool or Harbor Freight. You can get a good set for under $50 if you shop around online, my set was about $40 for 6 pieces I use to do power dividers, transfer cases and control arms.
Glad you liked it. Thanks for the sub!
been waiting for this. Jesus dude... It's been out of stock for quite some time too but extremely expensive -.-
Another excellent review. As I was watching I was trying to guess the price. I was thinking $1000 US but it looks like I came up short. This is another one of those... "If I win the lottery" items. The hydraulic add on will probably be another 600. Really cool shifter. By the way I really like the shift knob on that other shifter that was on the table.
It's a wonder, ou yeahh !!
Can't wait to see the lockout modification, im sure it will send the unit over the $2k mark, but that is really what it would take to get me to upgrade from my fanatec. Not that I will ever buy a $1500 shifter with my level of skill/dedication. I have to try one when it has gear lockout, that sounds exciting.
I wish I was living next to your house Lol
shoot i wish i lived in the corner of his garage
@Gonzo - Can I get the lower bunk? hahaha!
only if u like mustache rides :P
Class A review brother. You make me want to go buy one right now but I love my wife and can’t afford a divorce.
I fell of my seat the first time i heard how much this thing was going to cost, but having watched your review Barry, you can see where a lot of that £1434 (for those that need to pay VAT) has gone. Still not a justifiable amount for me to be spending though. Great review all the same.
If I ever win the lottery, I want the ultimate Beamng.Drive set up and that gear lever would be perfect (I wish it had a 7th gear though). But right now, I'm staring at my T150 wheel and T3PA pedals trying to save up for a TH8A shifter.
Looks to be made of actual transmission shift components. Recognise most of the parts from actual transmission internals. As always, top quality, as to be expected with Quaife.
I got one too!
For that price, I could probably just pay someone to do the shifting for me
I'm so rich I have a 40k rig, and a chauffeur to race it for me.
"Flat through Ou Rouge please Jeeves, and run over those plebs on the left"
You can use shifter extender as a thing to push down clip that holds rear gear spring
The shifter extender will not go that far down on the shaft.
46:12 You think you got a nice setup for racing? Funny. THIS is a nice setup! Holy Moly!! Can't believe that actually someone has such a fantastic at home O.O
thumbsUP!
thats better than the one in my car
That was, ... sorry! This IS one of the best presented videos on YT, as you pretty much always do (that's you & a very few selected other RUclipsrs). So thank you for all your efforts, they are much appreciated.
You obviously prepare & plan your recording sessions, very meticulously and work to a storyboard &/or script, which is why they're so good. Your recording levels are loud without being distorted and you enunciate really well and speak slow enough to be clear (a common trait of YT presenters is that they speak too fast and therefore cannot be easily understood), but you also do not speak so slow as to be boring; and all this makes for a great presentation.
In addition, because you pre-plan your videos, it is easy to see where other presenters go wrong. Sometimes, after watching some atrocious vids, which have a good subject, I HAVE come to watch one of your vids (about any subject/item), just so that I can get their crap out of my head. haha
However, what this video made me REALLY want to see is... Sabine Schmitz (Queen of the 'ring ) doing a few laps of the Nordschleife in your rig and then commenting on how realistic it is, i.e. how good, or bad, it really is! "Truth will out!" LOL
BTW - However it performs, I am sooooo very jealous of you, 'cause of your rig. Awesome!
Thank you for the kind comments. Yes, it is a lot of work to put these videos together. But it's worth it when you guys say you are getting something out of them.
This is honestly so good I've always wanted a setup but its kind of hard to do this and make my own since im only 12 and there are probably nothing alike to this kind of sim and with the current computer with a gtx 750 ti with a dell motherboard im pretty sure isnt that good especially with an i5 3rd gen its kind of hard since I love cars and all of anything with cars anyways nice video I liked the fact that you showed gameplay and info about the shifter its a really interesting video
Great review. Only problem with this is the small market it fits. Just too large to install in most rigs and doesn't have sequential mode. It may be worth modifying my N1 rig to fit it IF it had sequential mode.
I've bought entire cars for less money than this costs. But great review Barry as always.
I know this is a review on some serious H Pattern hardware, but thats some good driving there!! Well done
Cant wait till I get this thing lol. Until then I'll just use my 3DRap Logitech....
Fantastic review, as always ! In the Quaife website, we can find the mounting drawing with all the dimension but impossibe to find how tall ti is. Can you please tell us the height (with and whithou extension). Thanks !
