"Life's hard, but harder if you're stupid." One of my former Skippers would hang that outside his office whenever he held Captain's Mast (Office Hours for you non-Navy types) and let the accused stare at it for about 30 minutes before the fun began. His wife had done it as a needlepoint and to jazz it up a bit she added the likeness of The Duke. Fun times (well for most of us).. Thanks Jeff for dredging that memory up for me.
Go Geoff, you are only a young pup,I'm 71 and still going strong, just had two cancer growths cut out and the have to start sixteen weeks of Radiation, that's not great but as Geoff says Pete will win,not like all those millions or what they call them selves, they moan before they start any work, our generation just got stuck in and got on with whatever, great video and remember Geoff always wins.
I’m 70 and still working for a small logging operation fixing operator’s f**k up’s and loving it Hired me a young feller to help with repairs started at 06:00 and he was done in before 10:00 am I told him we’re going to be working until midnight tonight to get everything done He said really. Haven’t seen him since 🤔
Jeff , my name is Vince in Australia. Hope you're well. I'm 50 years old ,and was a qualified diesel mechanic, and boiler maker at 21 years old . I've worked on cattle stations all over Western nsw managed concrete plants etc . I suffered 18 broken bones in one accident, I still do a tri axle rebuild in 12 hours on a Sunday, no complaints no help. When it gets to 36 degrees centigrade crane crews walk off , sites shut down. Back in the day when it was hot as he'll 48 + deg centigrade no water ment no cattle. Call me cynical but not many young men have hart in this day and age world wide. Keep it up jeff love your stuff in Australia 🇦🇺 👏
Ain’t that the damn truth. Work hard and earn your own way. Have a younger brother that I didn’t see for 30 years show up about six months ago. Felt sorry for him, said he was sleeping on his friends floor. He’s almost 60 and bitches because he doesn’t have anything. Just a 7 year old truck, hand full of rifles and a bag of cloths. I laugh at him and say he don’t have anyone to blame but his self for that. Always did what he wanted but not what he need to. Gave him a place to hang his hat and said he could save a few bucks. Naw I know better that isn’t going to happen. He helps when I need it, he cleans up after his self, and makes me laugh. Yeah he has a job and he’s not afraid to work.
It appears that You got most all of the good out of that track frame and were starting on the bad. Thanks again Jeff. Best Wishes to everyone at Anderson Construction.
63? Damn kids! I’m 72, have to use a cane to get around, and still work on equipment. Only thing, it takes me all day to do a 2 hr job now. Never give up!
Amen,I’ll be 63 in August, had back surgery last year, knee replacement this year, been working since I was twelve one job or another, nobody gave me anything worked for what I have and don’t regret a day! Work hard be proud!
Great stuff young man !! I am just infront of you a59 model ... Just started blowing a bit of smoke . Could do with a bit of a tune up .. but still doing a days work .. great stuff geoff .. i have a td 6 with a track frame off it .. its enough for me ...
I'm 71 arthritis sidelined in 2014, been a diesel mechanic for over 40 years both hips replaced when I was 36. I had them replace again at 68. Had a knee replaced that's when I retired, in May they going to replace a shoulder. I've been teaching at a community college for the last 9 years it keep my thinking all the time. Love watching your video's and I love old iron you use. When are you going to put that new to you 1693 in Kenny?
Had to take down a pine tree in a customers yard, so I asked if I could have it, you won't find them this big in the forest, plus you'd have to travel to the forest and bla bla bla you get where I'm going LOL
A true undercarriage rebuild would include new sprocket segments, tracks, rollers, front idler bearings, walking beam bushing and rebuilt track tensioners. Also replace worn or damaged rock guards.
Good job, Jeff!! Are you sure you don’t have a little “Loggin’ Blood”, in ‘ya?!! That’s how all my friends in the woods hold ‘em up!! Also, you may want to give them rollers to the Cat Museum? I’ll be 70 this August, and I love to work!! They say “Necessity is the Mother of Invention”!!!
Old guys really do rule. I was banging down shingles today. If it doesn’t kill ya - yeah, I forget the rest. Anywho, I’m a bit older than you, Jeff. Still kicking though. 🦵🕺
I always like your words of wisdom. I’m 76 and work like a 30 year old. Work is good for the mind and body. Seniors get er done!

My dad worked hard all his life, I mean he would change his clothes two or three times a day from sweating. He passed at 99.

You will be hard pressed to get good help from young 'men' . Note "men" is in inverted commas!
Normal this day this day and age unfortunately 😢 seen this every day.

I comment on that everyday Jeff. Just git out there and do something. Taking off the track frame by yourself is no joke. Good job!

Well said young man. Thanks for sharing.

Bunch of computer adjusters is all the so called "workers" of today are. Well done Jeff, give it to em

Jeff, truer words have never been spoken, "don't sit on your ass and whine, get your dime like I got mine"
Jeff, I've been there and done that, but not with a 9, and I was around 25 years old. It's hard work!!! And I didn't have a Gallion!
Great stuff young man !! I am just infront of you a59 model ... Just started blowing a bit of smoke . Could do with a bit of a tune up .. but still doing a days work .. great stuff geoff .. i have a td 6 with a track frame off it .. its enough for me ...
I am 73 and I still do work like that not because I want to because I still like to do it
Amazing that 2 stumps can hold a D9 up. Of course I use 6x6 blocks to hold tons of weight all the time. Wood is good stuff!
Plus you have hardwood, old jeff just has hard wood at 6 AM LOL
Well said , gen z is doomed
Spending all the time and money on the old Galion is paying off now. Nice job. Can't wait to see the 9er with its new shoes on !
I agree 100%. But my god how much easier such work are if you are two working together. Happy easter from mr broyt in Norway 👍👍
That's 43, plus VAT over here.
And lots more of them seem stupid everyday.
I find it easier to do that work by myself. It’s not so easy when you have a boss/client that’s picky and or have a short amount time to do it
Money is there. it's not gonna to come to you. You have to get off your arse and go and get it.
Jeff and the galion for the win
Amen, thanks for the show Jeff 🍻🇦🇺
Yep Great Shorty 👍👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺🍺
You da man jeff !!
Looks like the rollers are pretty well worn
Amen to those words.
Those rollers have 10's of hours left on them
Amen Jeff
Jeff always wins

when you get your new shoulder and come out to my shop LOL
Love it!!!
Actually my first thought was where did he get wood that big in diameter. I haven't seen any trees around there that big. Good work.
Had to take down a pine tree in a customers yard, so I asked if I could have it, you won't find them this big in the forest, plus you'd have to travel to the forest and bla bla bla you get where I'm going LOL

Nice been there did that
Is this an undercarriage rebuild?

Great work Jeff, definitely a tough Ole job but that Crane ya got going is definitely the perfect tool for this one!
Them brush /limbriser mounts came in handy brother ps your near 64 just like me😂
Sir you are a thousand percent right on!👍
I could borrow your age and not even alter it at all😁
Fifty ton tree safety logs!
