I also have an R53. Cut the stock muffler out and installed a 17" resonator in the middle section. A little too loud for me as a daily but on spirited driving it sounds amazing. Nice work.

Can you get those pops and bangs with a mod on a r50 mini cooper. I recently got one with a jcv john cooper works tuning kit. It rumbles a bit at low rpms but i wanna get some more pops does and im not sure if i can do that as well as this r53 cause mines NA. So if anyone knows how an exhaust system that can make my car do that it would be dope

I think you talking about second gen mini which it's the turbocharger, 1st gen mini(R52 S,R53 S) is equipped with the supercharged not the R50 thought

Had my Mini straight pipe for about 6 years and yeah it’s gets tiring after a long time haha.. I loved it at first and for a long time but it’s a bit too obnoxious and yeah there’s drone at highway speed for sure. She’s screaming at me running 70+ lol
Looking at buying a real exhaust finally
The drone isn’t terrible, it really comes down to the rpm’s, for me between like 2500rpm and 4000 it does the pops for me and doesn’t drone much between idle, 2000rpm, 4500rpm to 6500, highway speeds it’s not bad at all unless you’re really giving it the beans. Did this to mine, it looks way better than the shit work done.
My exhaust just fell off my car today and it sounds like this... Wayyyy too loud 😭😭

@@Jbpgarage my cooper s r53 has a full ArmyTrix exhaust system and it doesn't bang like yours. I doubt your bangs are original.
