I'm so glad he didn't pull a Larry Wilmore and just crap on everything. Hasan had some jokes, some serious messages, and an overall informative and positive message for the audience.
I just came from Larry Wilmore & I like the guy but his speech was awful. There were so many recycled jokes from old WHCD speeches & they weren't thought out that far at all
Someone check, is Hasan is still alive in 2019? Regardless of the quality of the jokes, this has to be one of the ballsiest performances ever to be performed in any modern event period. Colbert's pales in comparison to this one. Damn. Wish I had seen this sooner.
I don't recall another comedian getting a standing O from this crowd. He touched a nerve and truth about the cornerstones of democracy. When the press is blamed and attacked for doing their actual job, we are lost. This was funny, gut wrenching, brave, and outstanding.
It's all jokes but hopefully CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc. take notice that's how we feel about the news. Most of us know you aren't Fake News but do the news, forget entertainment.
Thought some people would criticize this guy for jokes about "nazi's" and the "n word" but alright. Personally, i thought it was gross and uncalled for.
Everyone is saying that, and I just don't see it. I see a lot of people laughing! Sorry, this is three years later. I'm on a press Correspondents Dinner binge.
Of all the comedians who’ve attended this dinner in the past 10 yrs, Hasan Minaj has been the best IMO. Not only is he funny but he’s SMART! He spoke truth in a way that clueless white peoples could understand. He inspired and made this absolutely memorable. I come back to play it often. Bravo, Bravo! 👏🏼 👏🏼 But, he was sooo good, they haven’t invited him back yet. I hope they do! America needs to hear truth in a way they can understand it!
Of course the crowd didn't laugh. The people in the room at these dinners are usually the butt of the jokes. Highlighting their hypocrisy is what makes it satisfying for us on the outside.
You people need all the laughs you can muster to make up for your crushing loss and lack of focus ..... I love it ... if you think you can continue to make fun of our nation ... it's people ....and leadership instead of coming up with a better plan to rule you are mistaken ..... the Democratic plan is simply to disengage and obstruct .... no policies no plans ....just BS
Dibblydooda The republicans are famous for obstructing.trump has no clear cut plans or policies no wonder he is failing.Even republicans disagree with him and blocked his health care bill.
I've just watched this one (again) after watching Michelle Wolf's speech, and this one is so much better. actually I think Hasan's was probably one of the best ever, if not the best
I was kind of thinking why they cancelled it after her and not already after him. But after that closer they could have never done that. I'm pretty sure it was at least a combined effort. And scary as well. (I'm not American but I worry for you Americans a lot XD)
Jesus fucking Christ, I dare say this was as savage as Colbert. Almost no one recognizable was at this event but he fucking destroyed everyone. Incredible!
preach, this was so amazing and he should be proud, no one is giving him crap because he did it fairly, he made fun of both sides, including himself and made points that no one can refute, praise!
I'm sorry, I know comedy is subjective, but he was not that funny at all. I only listened to him because Whoopi Goldberg was stating that the guy made jokes of not just Trump, but the media outlets too. Look at the faces of the audience, and the lack of laughter noise, it's pockets of laughs. They were only joke that even made me laugh was the minority joke. HIs serious points were better were the only pluses I can name, one about the first amendment and about the media having to be on their "A" game. #if i had pain for a meal that tasted that bad, I would be asking for a partial refund
After all these years this is still the funniest most accurate most inspirational White House correspondence roast ever performed. Let's give a hand to the man the myth the legend Hasan Minhaj
Wolf Blitzer was pretty classic too, guffawing when Minhaj joked about his dad running for president, e.g. the guy who tries to return used underwear to Costco.
I think that if you are successful on your delivery, like Colbert, Hasan and others, the crowd shouldn't react at all... they are the ones being targeted by the jokes. The camera just shows that reality. Colbert got no reaction at all. Hasan was a bit more intellectual on his jokes at the end and I saw some of the crowd laughing.
great performance,, very well prepared, rehearsed, and delivered speech, didnt shake or fear the amount of power he s standing before,,, funny and sharp.. never mind the electoral critiques you won the popular admiration..

People like you are the reason our country is so divided. You instantly assume he's against you and close off your mind. It's really sad. Get Help. As a republican it hurts to see that these are the kinds of people that make up my party.
@@Sleviron Wow, what a Downer. If u don't get a joke, just ask. Don't have to put more hatred in the the world, just because u take everything too seriously!
@@dominicdupont5625 Well said.
@@khizarali4666 you're definitely not a minority then, would you like to stick with your statements seeing what's going on in America rn?
It's my sixth time watching this speech and I'm still enjoying every single second of it. Simply brilliant!!!
toughest gig ever.. 1st amen. SPOT ON. Poetically done. Great job.
Love the cringe groans. Standing ovation afterwards. Well done, kiddo.
this is the best thing i have ever watched in my entire life
Don't get out much, do you?
Because of how horrible it was?
too excited?
Agreed he’s hilarious
Mary Black but all the offended trump supporters are even funnier
"We're living in a strange time, where trust is more important than truth ", what a great statement..
"And internship for Netflix"... prescient words from Mr. Minhaj
this was funny. Looks like the audience was paid not to laugh.i saw fear in there eyes and reluctance to participate. like a gun was at there heads.
Dan P they weren't paid to not laugh , they're truly scared of this administration
They don't laugh because this isn't funny. You must have the worst taste in entertainment and art!
@@TimLevi We got some triggered asslicker of Trump.
I hear laughter...
Wait so now people need to laugh just cause you want them to laugh...sounds dictatorial if you ask me.
Way to go Hasan Minhaj!
He was so good!!!! Congrats Hasan!!
Amazing speech. The minority bit was moving and daunting. 'I have to work twice as hard for half the credit.' damn word.
9:49 just look how much time it took to Wolf to understand this joke
I don't think he got it...
That's because he's an idiot.
And then he quickly stopped laughing because he became suddenly hyperaware that his laughing at that joke may be racist. XD
he is an asshole he has been that way for decades
I don't get it either.
Well done Hasan.
The last comment was a brilliant piece of writing. "I want to thank Woodward and Bernstein for inspiring a generation of journalists. And I want to think Donald Trump for inspiring the next."
The next generation of journalists?
Or the next Woodward and Bernstein?
Richard Stevens so thoughtful!
🎶Immigrants: we get the job done🎶

"It's an internship for Netflix"
If he only knew...
Holden Covington ha
He probably received the offer lol
@@abbasakhan22 yeah, that was him bragging about being in talks with netflix while also not breaking his NDA
Hasan Minhaj was funny and brilliant in this performance. Well done!
He also did well as the comedian at the 2016 Radio and Television Correspondents' Dinner.
Hasan was brilliant. Well done.
Saarah L 3
This is literally that one kid that talks back to the teacher and roasts the teacher but every kid is scared to laugh 😆 😂
This guy made me cry in laughter.
"Then you have to smile and say thank you" that really hit some type of way.
For a hundredth time I'm watching this
Some uptight folks in the crowd......, Maybe because he was brown AND a professed Muslim? The Street Fighter joke was funny!
Grant Steffy, Jr. No country wants Muslims
Tom Tommy That's like saying, no country wants American-style Republicans. Except your statement is worse.
Grant Steffy, Jr. no my statement is true. Muslims are not wanted.
No country including the country the religion is from?
Tom Tommy That's like saying, "Jews and Christians are not wanted here." Isn't Democracy about inclusion under law? So authoritarian of you to say such things. Sad
You did such a wonderful job tonight! Absolutely killed it!!!!! I laughed, felt inspired, and admired your work so much tonight. I already watched it a few times, just to make sure I didn't miss anything haha! AFREAKINGMAZING!!!!!
Maryna Moreira Checo me too!😂
Deon Butler me three haha!!
bigfurhat bigfurhat dude you're a conservative troll. This is like the third stupid comment I've seen for you. It's becoming a game for me. For brown people this shit is inspiring. Considering the audience he had his jokes were brave.
Maryna Moreira Checo I just watched it 5 times, that speech was mind blowingingly inspiring
I'm so glad he didn't pull a Larry Wilmore and just crap on everything. Hasan had some jokes, some serious messages, and an overall informative and positive message for the audience.
I just came from Larry Wilmore & I like the guy but his speech was awful. There were so many recycled jokes from old WHCD speeches & they weren't thought out that far at all
OMG YOU WERE AMAZING HASAN!! GREAT JOB! LOVED IT!
Someone check, is Hasan is still alive in 2019? Regardless of the quality of the jokes, this has to be one of the ballsiest performances ever to be performed in any modern event period. Colbert's pales in comparison to this one. Damn. Wish I had seen this sooner.
You should check the one in 2016. The audience is A LOT more butthurt
Baby go watch Michelle Wolfe’s 😂😂😂 THAT lady has the biggest balls of all time
The "no you tell me!" Was hilarious as fuck! 😂😂😂
what time was that?
hilarious..

This was so funny, couldn't stop laughing. Love that he roasted MSNBC and CNN just as much as Fox for their antics.
WHY DONT YOU JUST FRICKING COMPLAIN SOME MORE ABOUT HOW YOU HATE WOMEN!
^Psycho....
Aries lol
I had never heard of Hasan Minhaj before now but OMGosh he is FUNNY!!! Loved this!!!
"what is comedy central? it's basically an internship for netflix"
a year later, he has his own netflix talk show ayyyy
I don't recall another comedian getting a standing O from this crowd. He touched a nerve and truth about the cornerstones of democracy. When the press is blamed and attacked for doing their actual job, we are lost. This was funny, gut wrenching, brave, and outstanding.
It's all jokes but hopefully CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc. take notice that's how we feel about the news. Most of us know you aren't Fake News but do the news, forget entertainment.
He absolutely kicked ass despite the crowd. I was dying the entire time lol
Thought some people would criticize this guy for jokes about "nazi's" and the "n word" but alright. Personally, i thought it was gross and uncalled for.
A New World Order Why are you so PC?
I know right, how dare he insult THE NEW WORLD ORDER
His crowd was waaay nicer than most of these I have seen. He was killing it compared to many, and he was fucking brilliant.
Exactly! He was great
Those people are very stiff, uncomfortable just to look at...
DD well yea. Could you sit there and be tortured by lousy comedy for hours and pretend to think it's funny to be nice.
You got ahead of me.
"I've been watching house of cards just to relax " 😂😂
Man I think I've died several times during the speech...the mortal combat part, fucking hell man, cnn jokes are too good
Hasan roasted Trump so hard, 570 people missed the like button
I don't use it online very often, but -- that was fucking awesome! Hasan tore that shit up!
The crowd sure didn't seem to think so.
I've seen more laughs at a funeral.
Of course the crowd didn't laugh. The people in the room at these dinners are usually the butt of the jokes. Highlighting their hypocrisy is what makes it satisfying for us on the outside.
I love the CNN part. Hope they change their news a bit. It gets tiresome.
I can't believe this only has 1.4 million views. I must be half of those
Crushed. It.
The other guy is in Pennsylvania cuz he can't take a joke 😂😂 he will be tweeting at 3 am sober!! That was brilliant well done Hasan!!!!!!!!!!
It was pathetic and lame.
You can say that without being racist or islamphobic....
TheUberGopher: You guys just can't stop yourself, can you? Just like the president, never shuts up when they should.
you can't say it without being wrong though :/
You people need all the laughs you can muster to make up for your crushing loss and lack of focus ..... I love it ... if you think you can continue to make fun of our nation ... it's people ....and leadership instead of coming up with a better plan to rule you are mistaken ..... the Democratic plan is simply to disengage and obstruct .... no policies no plans ....just BS
Dibblydooda The republicans are famous for obstructing.trump has no clear cut plans or policies no wonder he is failing.Even republicans disagree with him and blocked his health care bill.
legendary AF
I've just watched this one (again) after watching Michelle Wolf's speech, and this one is so much better. actually I think Hasan's was probably one of the best ever, if not the best
I was kind of thinking why they cancelled it after her and not already after him. But after that closer they could have never done that. I'm pretty sure it was at least a combined effort. And scary as well. (I'm not American but I worry for you Americans a lot XD)
I rewatch this quarterly (4 times a year).
Brilliant Hasan Minhaj, fantastic
Jesus fucking Christ, I dare say this was as savage as Colbert. Almost no one recognizable was at this event but he fucking destroyed everyone. Incredible!
No, he destroyed arm chair liberals sitting at home. The room was basically bored.
marah natha That's why he got a standing ovation? Yeah sure they were really bored - check past WHCD if you think that's normal
Bored? They looked more uncomfortable than anything else.
Scott They were smiling throughout his presentation .They applauded several times.
Yes best since Colbert of 11 years ago. Bush being there, Trump not being there, helped. Fantastic.
Very brave application of the first amendment!
preach, this was so amazing and he should be proud, no one is giving him crap because he did it fairly, he made fun of both sides, including himself and made points that no one can refute, praise!
That was very heartfelt. Michele Wolf was just savage but Hasan Minhaj had a message and delivered a really strong performance.
Bravo Minhaj.. proud of you bro.. lots of love from an Indian (my only Religion)...
Seriously Hasan Minhaj is very good looking. :)
Sexy, sexy, sexy.
true, same thing was said about the boston marathon bombers. the only difference is, this guy is even worse.
Hasan just gave me a boner. And I’m straight!

He fucking KILLED it! Amazing! He should do this every year!
Dick Cheesehead ur name is dick cheesehead thus everything u say will be disregarded from this point onward.
Work it, Hasan.
After all these years this is still the funniest most accurate most inspirational White House correspondence roast ever performed. Let's give a hand to the man the myth the legend Hasan Minhaj
Trump supporters are gonna get butthurt by watching this..hasan was simply brilliant...
n!haL habeeb, they are sure butthurt now after this last one
Thank you Hasan for your honesty!
Brilliant work. But felt the camera stays too long on the guest for reaction making it awkward
they do that every year. Larry Wilmore and Stephen Colbert were the best for crowd reactions.
Wolf Blitzer was pretty classic too, guffawing when Minhaj joked about his dad running for president, e.g. the guy who tries to return used underwear to Costco.
Yes. Though I noticed he didn't laugh when the joke was on him.
"We have to address the elephant is not in the room" great sarcasm :-) great sense of humor.
