Have you ever wondered, what is the strongest punch you can make in Terraria? Well, you can't punch in Terraria, but you can use slap hand to get some helping hand, quite literally... It actually makes a lot of sense that whips have very low knockback since the whole concept of whips is that all the force you put into them gets concentrated into a very small area. So while getting hit by a wip can cause serious damage the total amount of force imparted is quite small so you won't be knocked back much, unlike say if you were hit by a blast of water.
Smaller area = more pressure
