The Halloween franchise has is indeed become sooooooo overrated ! Imho those last movies are outright bad. Very good list and very much agree to it. Happy Halloween and good luck with your channel ;-)
You’re so right, the entire Halloween franchise is a total slog. The first is amazing, the third was great entertainment. That’s very it ended for me. I didn’t even like the first sequel. It’s one of my least favourite horror franchises ever. I could not ever understand liking them over Scream, Texas Chainsaw, Saw, Evil Dead, Nightmare. Even Friday which was also a slog to get through is generally higher rated for me than Halloween! I am a guilty Texas Chainsaw fan, I found most of them really fun. But my top three will always be Scream, Alien and Saw. I watched every Saw film as an adult after swearing them off for years because I thought they’d be simply gross and nothing else (this was before I’d even watched TCM). When I realized how hilarious, dramatic and fun they were… it blew my mind. It changed my perception of horror even after having been a horror fan for years. I would also watch 30 of them and never get bored.
