@@NickHippo13 Matt Reeves actually recently said that the Arkham show as well as the GCPD show have not been cancelled and have “evolved into something more.”
Keep in mind, Reeves doesn't need to use every single aspect of a character. To make Pyg grounded, Reeves could simply ignore the mind control crap and turn him into something more akin to a manipulator. Far too many people assume these characters need to be a one to one match of comic lore, and it 100% doesn't need to be the case.
agreed, that would be goofy if they went that route in this universe. I'm not one that believes these characters need to be carbon copies of their comic book selves.
I'd love a Jim Gordon show given The Batman was so Batman's point of view driven that we didn't get to explore this version much with regards to his family & personal struggles. I'd love to see Jeffery Wright playing all of that.
@@Logan-yt1lj It could although I also liked the original GCPD idea of a series focused on a "random" cop & the battle for his soul amidst the corruption in Gotham.
Although it pains me that it's not gonna happened, my ideal pitch for a show in this universe is a Robin show following Dick Grayson that would take place after the second movie which is where I would introduce him with his origin and being adopted by Bruce Wayne.
Yeah I doubt we're getting robin tbh. I know mttsh (supposedly reputable scooper) said we are but they've proven to be very unreliable in the last year or so, so I wouldn't trust it
Dick ends up becoming NightWing and is in Bloodhaven. I have to think her mention of ending up there wasn’t a flippant reference to the city. I think at some point we will see Dick Grayson, just not as Robin.
@@DogFather69 I don't think Matt Reeves works in set ups like that in general. He'll make allusions to characters, events & places from the comics but not necessarily to tease the future. So while I think Dick Grayson's introduction is possible, it could very well not be any time soon.
I'd like to see that primarily because if Dick is introduced in Part II, I see his transition into being Robin in Part III possibly feeling rushed. So it carries a lot of load to have his trauma, training, & embracing of the Robin mantle by the end occur in a show between sequels, like Oz becoming kingpin.
I would love to see Azrael and Anarky show up in Matt Reaves The Batman Universe. For Azrael I think that it would be cool if he showed up as a result of Batman inspiring people to do good similar to what Nolan kinda did in the Dark Knight. For Anarky I think that it would be cool if he also showed up as a result of Batman inspiring people to do good but uses a radical and violent approach to do so which puts him at odds with Batman.
honestly i hope the matt reeve's universe becomes more then the batman movies and a few spinoff but a full-on Gotham cinematic universe with movies and shows about the city and its people
That already seems like where it's headed imo. We get The Batman movies & different shows centered on villains & even (or at least originally & even still possibly) Gotham's institutions like GCPD & Arkham. It'd be interesting though if we get non-Batman projects that are movies, I can see Catwoman being a movie or even Nightwing & Red Hood way down the line, if they're introduced.
As far as shows go, I think the Harvey Dent show you proposed is the best option. It would be really interesting seeing someone going mad, not directly because they were exposed to violence and cruelty, but because they were trying to prevent that violence. As far as other villains I'd like to see in the Batman universe, whether they would debut in a show or a movie, I would pick: Zsasz - Pretty obvious choice in my opinion, he's dark and remains relatively grounded. I could see him being a minor villain in a Batman movie or even just the villain he takes down in the opening act. Scarecrow - Great idea for a main villain, him controlling fear would make him a perfect parallel to Batman, and you could get a lot of milage out of the hallucinations he produces. While the visuals could be fantastical, they would still be grounded in reality. Clayface - Probably the main villain of the Batman Part II. They're likely going to be using the Batman Black Label comic, "The Imposter" as their primary inspiration, and have Clayface be based on Basil Karlo's Golden Age counterpart. Ratcatcher - Similar to Clayface, I'm sure that if he was adapted, he would take a lot of inspiration from his depiction in "The Imposter." In that book, he empathized with rats and tried to capture them rather than kill them outright, because he saw them all as being mistreated by people constantly despite the fact that people did more evil than a rat ever could. He helped Batman's imposter navigate sewer tunnels in order to easily escape from situations, but in this version, perhaps he could have his status elevated, actively defending the Clayface from the police with his trained rats rather than passively helping the imposter. In that book, he also believed that the Imposter was the actual Batman, making him horribly confused as to why he was being hounded by the police despite helping "the good guys." You could tie it into the themes of how Batman unintentionally inspired a lot of vigilantism in Gotham. Poison Ivy - This is the most out-there suggestion, but if you take a lot of inspiration from her early DCAU counterpart, a more grounded eco-terrorist who's motif is based on plants (rather than having plant powers,) she could be an interesting villain. The only trouble I think the writers would have is tying her into the larger politics of the universe that The Batman is focusing on, but it could be done. I know some fans would also be disappointed in this version of Poison Ivy being significantly different than modern mainstream versions of her, so they would probably have to be careful with that aspect as well.
@@themadtitan7603 There were some rumors surrounding Matt Reeves using the Golden Age version of Clayface. Whether these rumors are confirmed or not, I think that him being a master of disguise would be really poignant in The Batman Part II. With Batman being seen as a symbol of hope, it could be interesting to see someone try to break down that symbol by framing him.
A Selina Kyle show set in Bloodhaven showing the events of her gaining a reputation and obtaining gear and relationships with other hardened and powerful criminals in an effort to break Sophia out of prison, that’s the show I wanna see.
The Batman part 2 isn't actually taking place a week after the batman. The penguin did and the batman part 2 will take place around Christmas and new years
I think of all these ideas, cat woman is by far the least likely to receive a spin off. This universe seems to revolve around Gotham and the people within, taking the story, and the viewers, to an arbitrary local would dilute the world. I think, if any location outside of Gotham is explored, it’s most likely to be the domain of Ra’s al Ghul, but even that is a stretch. Having cat woman’s actions following the Batman be a mystery opens doors for any number of new characterizations that could elevate the world further. Edit: Also I think Matt Reeves really loves Gotham and wants to keep the stories within.
I’ve been watching a lot of behind the scenes content and Matt reeves pointed out that Selina isn’t necessarily cat woman at this point in time. Maybe similar to the Batman movie, a show revolving around her could focus on her embracing the cat woman persona by teaming up with Sofia and fighting for the women of Gotham affected by the hangman.
A Catwoman show makes the most sense after the set up at the end of Penguin. Her love interests, connections to other shady criminals, and how she spends her time as a thief has a lot of potential.
Sofia's doctor/lover Julian Rush was actually originally written to be the scarecrow in the Penguin. Even though this element was cut, you can see that he has the needle hand and mask seen in the Arkham games on his desk. I think you are right about the scarecrow being an good element in future films/shows cause they are already toying around with the character.
Harvey Dent: A law procedural set around Harvey's efforts to put Oz Cobb behind bars given he was subpoenaed in the finale of the show. Through out it we delve into his abused childhood, his darker half fighting to come out as he confronts members of Penguin's organization & his disillusionment with the system, and his relationship with Bruce. The series can end with Oz bribing one of Harvey's assistants into sneaking acid onto the courtroom to attack Harvey at the climax of an intense court session; Two-Face is born & Oz is further cemented as the big menace of this saga. If done right this series could be the next great character study compared to Better Call Saul like The Penguin is to Breaking Bad. A Catwoman show based on When In Rome where Selina also leaves Gotham after Long Halloween & centering on Selina & Sofia leaving to Bludhaven together & trying to bond over & move on from their father's shadow while rediscovering their purpose & maybe even helping down-trodden women in the criminal underworld as someone suggested. The villain can be a crime lord like Black Mask or Great White Shark who has Gia kidnapped to get to Sofia. Arkham Show centered on Hugo Strange (or alternatively Harleen Quinzel with Hugo as her mentor) as he psychoanalyzes the different patients at Arkham & prods on their insecurities & compulsions until he brings out their darkest sides & they eventually transform into their classic supervillain selves. The cast can include, again Harleen Quinzel as one of the doctors who truly cares about helping the patients, Johnathan Crane, Julian Rush & inmates like Riddler, Joker, & maybe Sofia, plus new villains we haven't met yet.
Given the Easter Egg of Selina contacting Sofia Falcone in The Penguin season finale, Id very would love to see them give Zoe Kravitz Catwoman her own spin off adapting the comic Catwoman: When in Rome, which took place after Batman: Long Halloween and Batman: Dark Victory. There is room to explore this Selina on a deeper level and maybe even have her and Sofia team up? Personally Id love to see them set up Harvey Dent in The Batman Part 2 and naturally build up his downfall as Two Face by establishing his friendship with Bruce Wayne and his partnership with Batman and the GCPD and how ge wanted to take down the organised crime in Gotham under the Falcone family however now he has to try learn how to stop Penguins criminal empire. Id especially love if they take they're time with setting him up in Part 2 as a supporting character and in the third movie he becomes Two Face and we really see him kickstart the rise of supervillains in Gotham. Other villains Id love to see is Mr Freeze, Scarecrow or Poison Ivy because there's a lot of interesting things they could do with both villains. Maybe they could have Mr Freeze be someone who wroked for Thomas Wayne and Wayne Industries back in the day before Bruce as maybe instead of Ferris Boyle they could reimagine Thomas Wayne being indirectly responsible for causing Victors accident and keep his wife hidden in storage somewhere thus fueling his rage and ambition to find and cure her and rhis would tie into the overarching themes of corruption and lies even in the Wayne family as Bruce realises how his father made a lot of mistakes Bruce feels compelled to amend for. One idea I had for Scarecrow was to reimagine him as a religious cult leader putting the fear of God into his followers and planting his fear toxin as a secret drug in Gotham and expanding his cult into the city. Poison Ivy would also be another underrated villain who has potential to be portrayed as this femme fatale chemist seducing and poisoning powerful men in Gotham such as Bruce Wayne and using her seductive charm to get what she wants and even kill them in order to save mother Earth as she has a mental disorder that makes her believe she can actually talk to plant life and hear how much they suffer because of pollution. Though to be honest I do think it is more likely that villains like The Court of Owls, Hush or Professor Pyg are more likely to appear given the tone of this universe. Even though Id be down to see villains The Court of Owls, or Professor Pyg, since I can see them get proper build up, however Ive never really been a fan of Hush as a character and though if Matt Reeves wants to adapt him than Im fine with that, since he could surely make Hush a more interesting villain than he is in the comics but I do think there are better villains to pick from than him?
I had the same idea for a Catwoman show being based on When In Rome which actually takes place concurrently with the latter half of Dark Victory & they could similarly have it take place at the same time as Part II. I'd love to see them explore Selina further & have Zoe Kravitz playing that out; her childhood & teen years, what she was up to before The Batman, & even introducing her supporting cast like Holly Robinson. I see it centering around Selina & Sofia leaving to Bludhaven together & trying to bond over & move on from their father's shadow while rediscovering their purpose & maybe even helping down-trodden women in the criminal underworld as someone suggested. Maybe Gia reappears & we have a villain like Black Mask. For Mr. Freeze, I don't think they'll have Thomas Wayne be the Ferris Boyle in this situation given that in the film, he was depicted as a good man who compromised in a moment of weakness rather than a corrupt version like in the Telltale series. If they want to retain this personal aspect, I'd prefer if GothCorp was a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that was managed by corrupt heads that Bruce could've put an end to but didn't because he only cared about being Batman.
There's been some recent rumours that the character Dr Rush was supposed to be Scarecrow, although I'm not sure what the validity of those rumours is. If I'm being honest, I'm glad that he wasn't because I actually really disliked his performance and thought he was the weakest character in the show. To me he felt very poorly incorporated and found him extremely uninteresting.
Yeah I did think he was one of less interesting characters in the Penguin show so if it was supposedly meant to be Scarecrow I kind of prefer that they didn't make him Scarecrow since there are so many more interesting ways to make Scarecrow a great menacing villain. I kinda have this idea of Matt Reeves Batman Universe having Scarecrow as this religious cult leader using fear toxin to put the fear of God into others.
Not rumours. There’s literally a scene where there’s a scarecrow glove and mask on his desk, and Sofia looks at those items (though we just see her perspective). It’s extremely likely that he will be the e scarecrow of this universe.
@@Gino565 I heard. But they also say that may not happen because James Gunn wanted to use him. We'll see, but as is, I didn't care for the performance by the actor.
@@Gino565 These could very well be just easter eggs alluding to character. Also I've seen it said that the burlap mask people are pointed is a statue of death with scythe.
The connection was also raised in Dark Victory. If they had made her connection to Falcone more ambiguous in the movie like in the comics, WiR could've been the story of a Catwoman show while Part II is Dark Victory. I still think they can use it as base inspiration & have her & Sofia as the leads trying to escape their family's shadow.
4:32 Correction, The Penguin started a week after The Batman, ending over a month later in mid-December, and The Batman Part 2 was confirmed to pick up where The Penguin left off, taking place around Christmastime. But I totally agree with your point that it would be weird for Selina to come back in part 2 after her send-off, and I'd love to see her solo adventures taking place at the same time as part 2. Overall, I loved your video, particularly your first couple ideas. I made my own video a lot like this one a couple months ago, and I also pitched a Harvey Dent show and Selina Kyle show, saying a lot of the same things you did. Great thoughts!
Yeah, I think people are taking for granted that Catwoman is going to return but I feel based on Reeves' talking about their reuniting in Part III that they she either won't appear in Part II or will have a very minor role. But yeah, it's a good point that it'd be odd for her to be back a month later after that dramatic parting scene. I have the same idea for Catwoman show set alongside The Batman Part II based on When In Rome which also took place midway through Dark Victory, the sequel to The Long Halloween.
Some thoughts on genre and film inspirations since the movie was a hyper-stylish imitation of classic conspiracy and detective movies: Obviously Harvey Dent is primarily a legal drama, there are countless options for this like Suits. Following his gradual downfall to villainy calls on one of my personal favorite film genres, psychological thrillers. Given the high expectation of professionalism in his line of work, it wouldn't really make sense for this to be the kind of story that takes place 60% inside his own mind, or to reveal that his perception of the world was fundamentally warped the whole time. Instead I'd recommend looking to a movie called Take Shelter for a more subtle approach. Curtis is a very lucid character, he even understands how everyone else sees him as crazy and just doesn't want to say it. His paranoia stems from the percieved threat of the storm, so he acts neurotically while still having clear perception. Harvey should be the same way, he's convinced the defendant is involved in some kind of conspiracy, and at first you're lead to believe he's right because of their history, making his moral outrage understandable. But they're not being charged for something they've already done, they're on trial for conspiracy charges, and as the case progresses it gradually becomes clear how paper-thin the evidence is. I also think the very specific brand of crime thriller where the crime is committed at the very end would be perfect for this. Joker already kind of had this going with its Taxi Driver plotline, but American Psycho would serve as the perfect inspiration for a nail-biting final episode in which Harvey prematurely discharges himself from the hospital, meticuloulsy stalks the defendant, and finally kills him after we've spent all season getting to know his compassion and moral compass, only to throw it all away Catwoman interests me least since setting it outside Gotham disconnects the plot from all the interwoven political systems that shape Batman's future, but there's a comic called When in Rome that could work to adapt from. Fundamentally this should be an intricate heist show in the style of Heat. Selena pulls off some impressive infiltrations in the movie, but nothing on the scale that requires weeks of planning and setup. Her undercover skills could also make it a little bit political as she infiltrates high society, a look into the twisted mindset of the wealthy elite. I'm open to suggestions here, I don't really watch those kinds of movies Professor Pyg working in the medical industry provides a really cool opportunity to base it on medical dramas like House, but we have to change the plot and character to more closely resemble Dexter: Doctor by day, serial kidnapper by night. In order for him to get by in his field, his obsession has to be under control, something he only lets get the best of him when he's off-duty. You can use lots of parallels to make it clear what he wants to do to his patients, but he instead finds stand-ins to "correct" for it being socially unacceptable. You can see him recontextualizing life-saving procedures he performs as a doctor into horrifying brutalizations of his victims, and play it just as sterile and cold in both cases. "Next Pyg will make a 7mm incision into the rear tendon to account for the imperfection caused by the placement of a ball bearing in the lower thyroid." For mind control he can just use chemical processes like the CIA did in real life. You could eventually have him get caught and his medical license revoked, but to be honest, the longer he can keep this double life going, the higher the stakes
way to go Kid. You are bang on topic and very comprehensive. I would like to see a GCPD show law and order style with bella real Dent and Harvey the detective as well as maybe a Dr at gotham central
Matt Reeves needs to not rush his franchise and also not limit it by 3 mainline Batman movies. He can build off this continuity for 15 years and have 5-6 Batman movies with a bunch of spin off tv shows in between. He needs to do what Nolan wasn’t able to. Flesh out his universe and let Batman be around a long time. Nolan’s universe although good in spectacle doesn’t have a long enough history and timeline as Batman’s career is really short and also Gotham is just generic and looks like New York City. Also villains like Two Face and Raj Al Ghul get killed off too soon and don’t have much impact especially the former who’s only Two Face for 5 minutes and dies and never becomes the crime lord he’s meant to be in the comics. This franchise needs to be basically live action ArkhamVerse or more akin to that type where it’s gritty and grounded with a supernatural edge. Comic booky instead of too realistic but not too comic booky that the groundedness isn’t lost. Nolan’s mistake was being too realistic even though his movies were still good. I’m not asking for this to be like the upcoming DCU. I’m saying it needs to not be like our real life. Just a adaptation of the Batman universe with realism intact.
Gotham Central would work in this world. Would give them opportunities to showcase a variety of Villains, as well has show the war on crime in gotham from the GCPDs perspective.
I want an older scarecrow played by James Spader in this universe. I’d like him as a older, charming but unstable genius from Arkham Asylum. Disturbing, eloquent monologues during the fear portions but show his own insecurities and weakness when confronted physically. I think he’d be perfect.
idk how I feel about a professor pyg show just because he’s not a villain like the penguin, he’s a straight up comically evil serial killer and he would be hard to watch as a lead. Maybe if they turned it into a silence of the lambs inspired show but with Batman as a lead… but they wouldn’t do that without making it a movie. Maybe they could make Gordon the lead? And have Batman be reoccurring to help him out with the case. They could also make it an origin where he goes full pyg at the end, but i feel like that arc could be a little too close to the penguins in his show. Also if we do get a catwoman show I would be interested if Zoe Kravitz wants to take it on as the showrunner herself, her movie Blink Twice was a suprisingly good directorial debut.
I remember hearing a rumor almost a year ago that scarecrow, professor pyg and clay face were all supposed to get shows. I remember it being from a reliable source and everyone treated it as breaking news. I could be wrong but if your curious and I’m correct I’d suggest looking it yp
An “Arkham” show would be great too, it can help feature a lot of villains who are already in Arkham, maybe because of Batman, and help build their backstory and their future in the universe. A villain like calendar man or Professor pig can be a year 1 Batman villain who got caught early on in his career
Tbh the only ones that would work in the continuity without straying out too far from the current setting is a Harvey dent show Ala law & order law show style . The next imo is either the joker back story thing but that would take away the grandiose nature of seeing him on the big screen when he comes to clash with the bats . That leaves us with catwoman but they just confirmed it was cancelled. Scarecrow is the only one left
Now that "The Penguin" has concluded I trust Matt Reeves. He blew me out of this world with "The Batman" and he has done it again with "The Penguin". He truly has the best vision out of anyone for his batman universe. You can tell that he listens to the die hard Batman fans and knows how to develop these villains into the real deal by doing it the right way and letting them be the serious villains they are. And I'm all for it, those who have watched The Long Halloween or played the Arkham video game series that is literally what he's going for but made for adults in a Seven dark gothic way and portraying Gotham City on how it really should look. I trust his vision and I'm all in.
Hey man just wanted to say love the videos you’ve been putting out man, I like your knowledge with not only the movies but the comics I feel you add a fresh perspective, honestly you’re videos made me wanna check out the green lanterns comics and the authority comics.
Hey thanks man, you made my day! As for those comics, I'd recommend starting with Green Lantern Rebirth (2005, not 2016 although 2016 is good too) and for The Authority I'd recommend The Authority vol 1 (1999) by Warren Ellis.
I honestly would love it if they made Victor Zsasz more of a main villain because he’s the opposite of hope and what he does is pure evil. It’s exactly the kind of villain that would help him become a better hero and detective
They did say they want subpoena Oz & if they took route with him scarring Harvey, it'd make Penguin the biggest menace of this saga. The man who went against the Falcones & Maroni's, came on top as kingpin, got his hands in politics, & is responsible for Two-Face.
If they do Mr.Freeze I don’t think you can give him a Freeze gun or anything . I think he would have to be a villian in a movie where he has another villian who is the “muscle”. Side note, I’m an RRT at my local hospital and when going through school for that, the head of our department was literally named Dr.Freeze! Hahaha 😂
We're supposed to be getting an Arkham show in James Gunns DCU. I wish it was in this universe. We already have an established version of Arkham. We got to see it in The Batman and the Penguin show.
It was supposed to be in the Reevesverse switched to the DCU and now is apparently cancelled although Matt Reeves said it's more on the path of evolution than dead so there's a chance. But I hope it's restoried to this universe if it's back on.
@@NickHippo13 Matt Reeves did say it could be revisited later down the line as the shows are constantly evolving but I hope if they do, that it's back in this universe
I'd like to see exploration of some other characters we haven't already seen. Harvey and Scarecrow would feel like rehashing The Dark Knight. I wouldn't complain if they were made, but id like something new. - Huntress (Maybe Sofia inspired by Selina? or a grown up Gia) - Hugo Strange - Mr. Freeze - Pyg
apparently in the penguin show a scene in episode 4 shows a scarecrow mask and an injector glove, but the greater said it was open for interpretation so maybe crane is already in Arkham
Never seen Pyg in live action before, obvious choice would be to showcase his origin to casual fans. This is the 4th live action film version of Catwoman, and I just wanted to put the video up, idk why it matters
@@NickHippo13 wasn’t meant to be shady lol I just thought it was an interesting take because you could do so much with catwoman lol. Also Professor Pyg was in Gotham check it out if you’d like to see him in live action. He appears in season 4!
the batman part two is taking place in winter following the batman. it’ll probably take place right after the penguins finale which is probably a month after the first movie
There are loads of shows I’d like , but for future villains I would like to see Hugo Strange, but I’d like him to appear when the Batman is fully established - so I think he’d be a great villain for the third film. Maybe have a Hugo strange story paired with Hush. I’d also love to see Black Mask and Deathstroke. Maybe with a story similar to what Arkham Origins originally seemed to be (before the joker reveal).
The penguin is so good I want spinoffs for every character especially catwoman. They don’t have to do mind control if they want to keep it really grounded they can do Stockholm syndrome.
I think it would be cool to bring Joker in a show. Like a show with Riddler or even Scarecrow. Yes, he steals the show too much. But it would be better to have him as a character building up around the other characters. Hes a top dog but let others have a spotlight while also giving us that Joker dopamine, lol.
What I think will be relatively true of this universe, is that these characters WONT be the basic versions of themselves all that much. Recently Matt Reeves did work on Caped Crusader and that show not only has wildly unknown characters, but more known characters do seem to be a little different. Hence why I think characters like Eve Karlo from the Penguin could be his take on Clayface, or Julian Rush? Is his name, could become some Scarecrow esc character. All this being said though, I'd much rather see villians we've never seen before on live action join the cast. Another Joker, another Scarecrow, another Twoface, while great, have storylines that have been adapted time and time again, while villians that could fit into this universe greatly dont get much notice. I for one think Onomatopoeia could work here. Though he might edge closer to being a Riddler esc chap so he'd have to be a minor character or a side villian. Another thing is, give us the Court of Owls, ive seen photos where it looks like theyre hinting at it in the penguin visually, and also also, random note Julian Rush did have a scarecrow esc mask the end
Have Roman Sionis as the man antagonist of Harvey Dent's series, ultimately leading to Black Mask's Crew being culprit of his Scarring, ultimately forming an alliance between Two Face and The Penguin in the third Film, to end Roman.
Hoping Gunn reconsiders making the Arkham Asylum show in his universe instead of Reeves We really need a crime drama GCPD show with Gordon, Bullock, Dent, and other notable GCPD characters trying to figure out the corruption within the system and the entire department, even getting to explore Blackgate as well🔥
That's what it was supposed to; originally started out in Reeves' universe, became a DCU show and now seems to be cancelled but could come back. Although I hope it's in the Reevesverse.
Agreed I am Joker'd out. This series should focus on new Villains. But I do want something of 2-Face maybe A side character like how they used Falcon In the 1st Batman film. But this series Is showing how corrupt the Law/Justice side of Gotham Is they can bring In Pyg or Court Of Owls and having Harvey Dent as A sideline character would work. But they could do Calendarman,Mad Hatter or even A different take on Poison Ivy. Just anybody but The Joker. Last with the Mafia style vibes they can show The Ventriloquist and Scarface.
I like Hush as a Batman villain but I don’t really want him to be the villain of the next movie because unless they do something new with the character it will be obvious that Thomas Elliott is Hush
I agree with your Catwoman show idea but I think maybe in part 2 she’ll break out Sofia and we get a bludhaven show with her sofia and the flying graysons and maybe black mask
The next show should def by a gotham central show. Show us Jim gordon, bullock, Renae Montoya hunting down Victor zsasz. Show how corrupt the gcpd while hunting a serial killer
I think a professor pyg spin off moive would work really well I think it should be horror definitely but I think Batman shouldn’t appear I think it would be cool to see a cop I’m thinking renne Montoya or a young Jim Gordon (a old Jim would probably get Batman to help him) I think it’s good because if it was Batman it would make it less scary in a way because we know Batman will beat him but if it’s a regular cop he’s a lot less prepared and it can make the horror aspect because it really is just a regular guy going against pyg and they could also touch on the corruption in Gotham like maybe Jim Gordon is the only one to take the case
i know this batman is still young (year 2) but if there`s a larger time gap between part 2 and 3 i`d love to see dick grayson get introduced into this universe
Between a cat woman show with Zoe kravits would easily work . She could be in a next city helping out other women whom are stuck in the underground world . Something small but impactful
I could see that. My idea has been that it'd be a team up of her & Sofia set in Bludhaven as they try to escape their family's shadow & find their new purpose, maybe as you said they help other women in the underworld & one of them is this universe's Holly Robinson.
I really don't want another Penguin season. I think it was absolutely perfect and dosnt need to be expanded upon until "The Batman: Part 2" However... A show about Dr. Julian Rush becomeing the scarecrow would be awesome

So it carries a lot of load to have his trauma, training, & embracing of the Robin mantle by the end occur in a show between sequels, like Oz becoming kingpin.
i YEARN for the professor pyg show. i love pyg so much and he doesnt get nearly enough attention
I would love to see Azrael and Anarky show up in Matt Reaves The Batman Universe. For Azrael I think that it would be cool if he showed up as a result of Batman inspiring people to do good similar to what Nolan kinda did in the Dark Knight. For Anarky I think that it would be cool if he also showed up as a result of Batman inspiring people to do good but uses a radical and violent approach to do so which puts him at odds with Batman.
honestly i hope the matt reeve's universe becomes more then the batman movies and a few spinoff but a full-on Gotham cinematic universe with movies and shows about the city and its people
Nah, a batman cinematic universe will be better, the main story is of bruce wayne, and other things happening around him
That already seems like where it's headed imo. We get The Batman movies & different shows centered on villains & even (or at least originally & even still possibly) Gotham's institutions like GCPD & Arkham.
It'd be interesting though if we get non-Batman projects that are movies, I can see Catwoman being a movie or even Nightwing & Red Hood way down the line, if they're introduced.
a gotham-like show would be cool, like the GCPD vs batman villains, could be a good way to do rapid worldbuilding
They should make a show for every major villain that’s going to appear in the batman movies and make much more than just 3 batman movies
Nah i don't think so. Unless wb hire another director, matt reeves would only make a trilogy
As far as shows go, I think the Harvey Dent show you proposed is the best option. It would be really interesting seeing someone going mad, not directly because they were exposed to violence and cruelty, but because they were trying to prevent that violence. As far as other villains I'd like to see in the Batman universe, whether they would debut in a show or a movie, I would pick:
Zsasz - Pretty obvious choice in my opinion, he's dark and remains relatively grounded.
Why do you think Clayface is the probably the main villain of Part II? I'm genuinely curious.
The penguin did and the batman part 2 will take place around Christmas and new years
Pyg is the PERFECT opening scene villain for the Batman 2. Just like the gang in the first movie but showing how Gotham is even more dangerous now
Imagine a Harvey Dent show with pyg as villain. Pyg scars dent and two face puts him on trial.
0:57 now that’s a jawline
Very excited to see the growth of this channel🙏🙏
Hi, I just wanted to say that I love your content and I look forward to the upcoming videos you do next.
I kinda have this idea of Matt Reeves Batman Universe having Scarecrow as this religious cult leader using fear toxin to put the fear of God into others.
agreed, that dude did not fit the bill for Scarecrow to me at all tbh
Not rumours. There’s literally a scene where there’s a scarecrow glove and mask on his desk, and Sofia looks at those items (though we just see her perspective). It’s extremely likely that he will be the e scarecrow of this universe.
@@Gino565 I heard. But they also say that may not happen because James Gunn wanted to use him. We'll see, but as is, I didn't care for the performance by the actor.
@@Gino565 These could very well be just easter eggs alluding to character. Also I've seen it said that the burlap mask people are pointed is a statue of death with scythe.
3:33 tbh its kinda neat how they used Catwoman: When in Rome comic as one of intergrated part in her origin and her relation with Carmine Falcone
I think this Matt Reeves universe will focus on a more realistic characters without any super power or abilities that is beyond human..
the potential is endless in reeves’ universe, 2 projects in and it already feels more like batman than any of the predecessors imo.
I agree Dana. Please make Jon fight Aspinall 🤣
@ i’ve tried bro, he doesn’t want non of him🦆🦆
4:32 Correction, The Penguin started a week after The Batman, ending over a month later in mid-December, and The Batman Part 2 was confirmed to pick up where The Penguin left off, taking place around Christmastime.
Some thoughts on genre and film inspirations since the movie was a hyper-stylish imitation of classic conspiracy and detective movies:
Obviously Harvey Dent is primarily a legal drama, there are countless options for this like Suits. Joker already kind of had this going with its Taxi Driver plotline, but American Psycho would serve as the perfect inspiration for a nail-biting final episode in which Harvey prematurely discharges himself from the hospital, meticuloulsy stalks the defendant, and finally kills him after we've spent all season getting to know his compassion and moral compass, only to throw it all away
Catwoman interests me least since setting it outside Gotham disconnects the plot from all the interwoven political systems that shape Batman's future, but there's a comic called When in Rome that could work to adapt from. I'm open to suggestions here, I don't really watch those kinds of movies
Professor Pyg working in the medical industry provides a really cool opportunity to base it on medical dramas like House, but we have to change the plot and character to more closely resemble Dexter: Doctor by day, serial kidnapper by night.
With the catwoman show or even movie I think it would be good to go in the direction of a heist movie or show
way to go Kid. You are bang on topic and very comprehensive. I would like to see a GCPD show law and order style with bella real Dent and Harvey the detective as well as maybe a Dr at gotham central
A Joker show would still be 🔥
Matt Reeves needs to not rush his franchise and also not limit it by 3 mainline Batman movies.
I would like to see Jim gordon get his own show
Gotham Central would work in this world.
I think he’d be perfect.
love your channel!
idk how I feel about a professor pyg show just because he’s not a villain like the penguin, he’s a straight up comically evil serial killer and he would be hard to watch as a lead.
Professor pyg is perfect for the batman world reeves wants to create
I need these batman movies to be a saga. I need 9 movies and 13 tv shows
That would be perfect
Yea keep dreaming buddy 😂
I remember hearing a rumor almost a year ago that scarecrow, professor pyg and clay face were all supposed to get shows. I remember it being from a reliable source and everyone treated it as breaking news. I could be wrong but if your curious and I’m correct I’d suggest looking it yp
I do remember seeing that. It was from DanielRPK's patreon
Pyg would go crazy in the reeves universe
if matt reeves doesn't include prof pyg in his universe ill kms it would be so perfect
As for those comics, I'd recommend starting with Green Lantern Rebirth (2005, not 2016 although 2016 is good too) and for The Authority I'd recommend The Authority vol 1 (1999) by Warren Ellis.
off topic but love the throw back t-wolves jersey
@@mr.longjohn0014 I’m a huge wolves fan lol, had to rep it
Harvey Dent's transition into Two Face is so good in the Caped Crusader and I would really want to see that in The Batman universe.
I hope the Matt reeves universe doesn’t end with three movies… I want at least 6 lol
Completely agree, im tired of trilogies. Id take 4 tbh, but ideally id like 5
I'd even take 9, three trilogies centered on different phases of Batman's career & spanning the different Bat-Family.
I ain't waiting 2 years for the batman 2 I'll literally go and make my own version😂
I honestly would love it if they made Victor Zsasz more of a main villain because he’s the opposite of hope and what he does is pure evil. It’s exactly the kind of villain that would help him become a better hero and detective
Here me out penguin season 2 the main antagonist is Harvey dent and it ends with oz creating two face
Hahaha 😂
Court of Owls, Hush and a Clayface who uses prosthetics would be cool
We're supposed to be getting an Arkham show in James Gunns DCU. I wish it was in this universe. We already have an established version of Arkham. We got to see it in The Batman and the Penguin show.
I think it’s cancelled now officially
We are getting it, its set in matt reeves verse
- Huntress (Maybe Sofia inspired by Selina? or a grown up Gia)
- Hugo Strange
- Mr. Freeze
- Pyg
Professor Pyg is a really good idea
apparently in the penguin show a scene in episode 4 shows a scarecrow mask and an injector glove, but the greater said it was open for interpretation so maybe crane is already in Arkham
Couple videos in.
I know this channel will help me survive till 2027, so new sub!!!!!!!
Pig being the butcher that takes out people for penguin would be cool
Having a concept for Professor Pyg show but not catwoman is definitely a interesting take 😭
Never seen Pyg in live action before, obvious choice would be to showcase his origin to casual fans.
@ nah yeah i got you, she’s definitely a more interesting character
the batman part two is taking place in winter following the batman. it’ll probably take place right after the penguins finale which is probably a month after the first movie
I like ur content bro keep it upp
thank you!
Man, a professor pyg show would be so good.
Could you imagine a Harvey Dent interacting with this version of the Penguin
Nice retro Timberwolves jersey.
Fellow DC fan.
Wolves back! Been a fan since 2013 haha I endure
Professor Pyg would work so well in this universe
Timberwolves jersey, subbed
Wolves back!!!
i would love to see realistic two-face injury with a good accurate DID representation
I think a killer croc origin story would be really cool
My fan cast would be Dave Bautista as professor Hugo Strage ,Anya taylor-joy as harley quinn.
Adam Sandler as Harvey Dent
Naw.....
I really want new characters instead of the already done ones. Harvey has been done already and so has joker.
Yeah I agree with you we have enough joker..
That professor pig show would be 🔥🔥🔥🔥
What I think will be relatively true of this universe, is that these characters WONT be the basic versions of themselves all that much.
Another thing is, give us the Court of Owls, ive seen photos where it looks like theyre hinting at it in the penguin visually, and also also, random note Julian Rush did have a scarecrow esc mask
the end
Have Roman Sionis as the man antagonist of Harvey Dent's series, ultimately leading to Black Mask's Crew being culprit of his Scarring, ultimately forming an alliance between Two Face and The Penguin in the third Film, to end Roman.
Hoping Gunn reconsiders making the Arkham Asylum show in his universe instead of Reeves
We really need a crime drama GCPD show with Gordon, Bullock, Dent, and other notable GCPD characters trying to figure out the corruption within the system and the entire department, even getting to explore Blackgate as well🔥
That's what it was supposed to; originally started out in Reeves' universe, became a DCU show and now seems to be cancelled but could come back.
Let this man cook
I wanted that Arkham show
We are starving for arkham asylum show
I like Hush as a Batman villain but I don’t really want him to be the villain of the next movie because unless they do something new with the character it will be obvious that Thomas Elliott is Hush
i would watch tf out of a catwoman show
I agree with your Catwoman show idea but I think maybe in part 2 she’ll break out Sofia and we get a bludhaven show with her sofia and the flying graysons and maybe black mask
The next show should def by a gotham central show. Show us Jim gordon, bullock, Renae Montoya hunting down Victor zsasz. Show how corrupt the gcpd while hunting a serial killer
@@Walka_Vodka_ hate myself for not putting this in the video

With pyg maybe he just tortures and abuses people to force them to obey him instead of mind controlling the dollotrons
I don’t think another show would work without Batman. I’d rather wait until The Batman Part 2 even though that’s a long way ahead of us.
The expectation is that the next show would be after The Batman Part II anyway.
i know this batman is still young (year 2) but if there`s a larger time gap between part 2 and 3 i`d love to see dick grayson get introduced into this universe
pyg was in the gotham tv show
3:13 have it be like better call Saul but in gotham
We need a Christian Bales Two-Face
Let's see Pual Allen's court case
Between a cat woman show with Zoe kravits would easily work . She could be in a next city helping out other women whom are stuck in the underground world . Something small but impactful
I could see that. My idea has been that it'd be a team up of her & Sofia set in Bludhaven as they try to escape their family's shadow & find their new purpose, maybe as you said they help other women in the underworld & one of them is this universe's Holly Robinson.
@ that sounds great for a short series IMO but WB prolly won’t do it
I really don't want another Penguin season. I think it was absolutely perfect and dosnt need to be expanded upon until "The Batman: Part 2" However... A show about Dr. Julian Rush becomeing the scarecrow would be awesome
