    CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Juniors cruise around on their last day of school while Mitch (Wiley Wiggins) hitches a ride with Wooderson (Matthew McConaughey) and Pink (Jason London) to the Emporium.
    FILM DESCRIPTION:
Like George Lucas' American Graffiti, Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused is an affectionate look at the youth culture of a bygone era. While Lucas took aim at the conservative 1950's, Linklater jumps ahead a generation to the bicentennial year of 1976 to celebrate the joys of beer blasts, pot smoking and Frampton Comes Alive. Set on the last day of the academic year, the film follows the random activities of a sprawling group of Texas high schoolers as they celebrate the arrival of summer, their paths variously intersecting at a freshmen hazing, a local pool parlor and finally at a keg party.

Matthew McCounaghey said, in an interview, that people approach him literally every day saying--- "Say man...you got a joint?" and he said he always starts to walk away and then turns his head back and says--- "It'd be a lot cooler if you diiid.."
He also stated that fans say that to him more than anything else.

I didn’t go to high school in the 70s but some of this culture spilled over to when I did. It truly was a great time to be young. Cruising, meeting up at the local arcade, going to the skate rink, begging my mon for money to go to the mall which I subsequently blew at the arcade there. My kids have zero idea about this. They don’t even understand it.

Small movie mistake: Takes place in 1976 but the biker at 0:36 has the skull design used by _The Misfits_ on his jacket - but _The Misfits_ didn't use it until 1979. The image did exist prior to that as the band came across it from a fairly obscure 1946 movie: _The Crimson Ghost_ but it's pretty unlikely anybody would have had it on a jacket until after it was popularized by _The Misfits._

*I say shotgun, you say wedding* that's not why. She was already living in the US by age 6. She was very fluent in English as a teenager. Before DAZED AND CONFUSED, she had been in CHAPLIN and RETURN TO THE BLUE LAGOON. She had extensive dialog in both, especially the latter in which she was the star. She spoke with a perfect American accent.

Now that I think about it, I remember Richard Linklater (the director) saying that 'Kevin Pickford' was originally going to be the main character (the keg party was supposed to be at his house, after all), but the actor was very difficult, so they whittled down his part to almost nothing. Unfortunately, that meant cutting most of Milla's scenes, since she played his girlfriend. They actually hooked up in real life. No joke, they eloped but their parents had the marriage annulled. It was crazy!

With that said I had to own a Trans Am, loved Clint's 73 SD-455, my cousin owned a 76 455 white with red black decals instead of blue, couldn't find a 73 around at that time, so I bought it and restored it and now I restored a 80 Trans Am and posted a video, due to this movie it changed my life with cars forever!!! One of the coolest movies of all time, complete legend!!!!

It may still exist, but the consequences for getting caught are much more severe and could ruin your life. Back in the day, when cops would bust kids for having weed or alcohol, they would just confiscate it and tell the kids to go home because they recognized it was just dumb kids being kids and part of growing up means testing boundaries and finding your identity.
Nowadays, getting busted means fines and jail time and having a criminal record that can follow you around and hinder your opportunities in life. Furthermore, this was before everybody had cameras on their phones and were able to record everything and upload it to the internet for everyone to see. Back then doing stuff like this wasn't permanently recorded for all time and now it is, it's a completely different situation today.
