Dr. G. Richard Smith: 2024 Dr. Tom Bruce Arkansas Health Impact Award Honoree

The ACHI Health Policy Board honored G. Richard Smith, MD, as a recipient of the 2024 Dr. Tom Bruce Arkansas Health Impact Award. Dr. Smith has been a leader in psychiatry in Arkansas for decades. He served as director of the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute and chair of the Department of Psychiatry until his retirement. Dr. Smith twice served as dean of the College of Medicine and was executive vice chancellor at UAMS. He also served as ACHI’s inaugural director.
