It wasnt under rated. Even before internet these guys succeded in being a global hit on their very first album and touring around the world, that is definitely not an under rated definition. It applies better to other bands that been playing for decades and still never hit a massive audience or were recognized by their own people, such as The Ramones. Silverchair came very fast and also disappeared pretty fast too.
In Australia they were like the Beatles, nirvana, etc. But they weren't that big in the U.S. mostly overlooked because they were labeled " nirvana wannabes "

their live performances of pure massacre are always so much better than the recorded version, so much more emotion/rawness. wish more live versions were on spotify :(
