I had dead spaces in my coffee shop restaurant design and figured plants would be a good filler instead of placing the diners there because due to the design layout it looked like the diners could easily become forgotten in the corner if foot traffic was heavy. As you would end up having people going in and out of restrooms, restaurant workers all over and people going in and out of a conference room.
