Well it wasn't in the script for them to win that year it was New Orleans year because of the comeback from Katrina narrative being what the NFL saw as a better storyline and would ultimately make a better "NFL Films presents: 2009 New Orleans Saints" there's a reason why the SB winning team from each years season NFL films production is various clips of them playing real football in the regular season with the provided narration and Hollywood style production angles, but the Post season always has serious thought that goes into the Divisional, AFC/NFC Championships and which one of those teams would make the best possible and most entertaining, glued to your seat, exciting SB win and playoff run and once that's decided all the rounds that team plays in the post season will be for pure entertainment purposes only which is why year after year its no longer just regular season football but rather that incredible playoff game style, miracle moment, game winning TD or game losing interceptions, and then after that they make a basic outline for each game where during each quarter both teams have certain plays that are a part of a plan which Is why you'll see very smart and accurate QBs who know perfectly well how to make good reads yet if they're on the losing end of the script you'll see them making passes that happen usually towards the end of the first half or 2nd half, guys like Brady in 2015 AFC championship vs broncos before the snap the editing crew highlight von Miller to get the viewers attention on him and once the play begins he's in the secondary and Brady ignores a wide open Edelman and Hogan and looks directly at Von Miller and throws a bullet directly at him and without looking mad he just hangs his head and walks to the sideline, this is just one example of a scripted play and somehow no one ever notices these types of plays but every single year in the NFC or AFC Championship games and superbowls very accurate passers not only throw a pick but if one is actually paying attention to what's going on they see its not a honest mistake and a safety making a good play but rather the QB ignoring all reads, looking right at the defender and throwing it his way like they're on the same team. It's only the team captains, head coaches, and owners who know of the outcomes (also the referees obviously) while the rest of the players are kept in the dark and just told to run a defense that they are told is the best move when in reality the game plan that's been selected is designed to coordinate with the other team which is why in these games you'll also see the winning teams have guys on big plays wide open like the defense is playing a soft ass cover 3 zone when it makes no sense to do so. I know most people reading this will think I'm crazy and really I don't care since I used to work for NFL films and made a lot of money contributing as a narrative writer and editor and later worked as a consultant to the writers and mainly sat with an editing board who would compare the two best possible narrative outcomes to figure out which one would make the most entertaining TV storyline and usually whatever came in 2nd would be saved for the next year or two but usually would end up edited as various factors would change. I'm only writing this because I'm salty at the entire NFL as I realized that there are much darker elements to many of the owners and NFL royalty so if anyone reading this is ready to wake up and realize that after game 17 the real football ends and in comes the scripts and its only getting more obvious because the NFL thinks that the fans are that dumb, laughing while they pull off back to back years of perfectly scripted post seasons for all the games, with the eventual SB winner hosting and playing in their stadiums, with the games all being extremely obvious with down to the wire 3 point differences or OT drives, getting mahomes to play dummy in the AfC championship game 2nd half and then when he bitched too much it was time to expose him by trading away Hill, and also seeing if anyone noticed all the references in post game interviews, asking Stafford "so you couldn't have scripted it any better than this tell us what you think" and he tries hard to hide his smirk or the controversy behind the scenes (many thought it would be too obvious) to have a buccaneers WWE belt shown around after last year's SB and The Rock giving a perfect wrestlemania style intro to this year's SB. Lol I mean after one week of some suspicious fans everyone forgot the very blatant no call against the saints in the 2018 NFC championship game because hell the fans ALWAYS forget the year after year ridiculous officiating that is so obviously steered in one direction because the emotional attachment of many fans blinds them to the truth.. I mean I get how hurt the fans must have been but come on, Favre brought so many good times to the packers and they fucking boo him. Just classless by packers fans.
3:46 Is the epitome at Favre. He mightve played QB and been a legend at it, but he was always a straight up football player. Would always stay in a play and block if he had to. In this case, ran down the sideline, and was ready to throw down a block at 40 years old, and already battling a bad ankle.
Your Packers. That's hysterical! You must have been one of those idiots that boo-ed. Why did they boo him? Packers were plenty happy to see the backside of Favre. You knew you were going to get your ass kicked by the Packer QB you loved forever. Brett Favre made your Packers you idiot.
I was really dreading him winning it all with the Vikings. That would have been painful, after all the years of playoff disappointments after he won it. The Vikes got to go through the highs and lows of Favre that season, though. They wouldn't have gotten so close to the SB without him, but then a Favre mistake also did them in.
As a Vikings fan I liked Favre even when he was at Green Bay for all them years. He is the Gunslinger forever. Great man that just purely loved the game.
Trae H How do you think us Vikings fans feel watching you guys take a run at a super bowl every year and just hoping that we can at least make the playoffs.
Wow! Favre did so much for that franchise and fan base in the time he was there. Won them a Super Bowl, not to mention all the magical moments. So what do the fans do, they boo him.
That it is. This is the best we have been since '09, and I dare say we have a better *Team* this time rather than an all star QB and a bunch of good guys.
still have no doubt in my mind if we beat New Orleans that year we beat the Colts in that super bowl, but I like the direction of the team now, with cautious optimism though
It was upsetting to see Favre in purple and gold and not green, but damn the guy is a legend. If the Packers didn't make it to the big one, I was still rooting for Favre. The guy had a friggin cannon of an arm.
Jared Backstrom I agree man. I don't think we will ever have a Vikings team that good again. It's a shame we didn't wi. the Super Bowl that year. 2009 was the ONLY year where Minnesota would have actually won the Super Bowl.
We've got a better kick returner in CP and a better receiver in Diggs, Harvin never had payed a full season after his rookie year because of migraines, and he was also trash after that year too
Devin Miller You mean the good old days when all 5 offensive lineman aren't out for the season after the 5th game? I normally don't find dumb Vikings fans, you need some work.
I love Viking fans… Just like Detroit Lions fan they have an excuse for every single loss that they’ve ever taken and never in the history of their entire franchise have ever lost a game because of their own shitty play.
Rodgers: You turned them against me. Brett: you have done that yourself. Rodgers: you will not take them from me! Brett: your terrible leadership and bad cheese have already done that. You’ve aloud this cheese crazed franchise to twist your mind until now, until now you’ve become the very thing you’ve sworn to destroy. Rodgers: don’t mess with me Brett. I’ve seen through the lies of the 90s packers. I do not fear the bears as you do. I’ve brought peace, freedom, justice, and security to my new job. Brett: your new job? Rodgers: don’t make me kill you. Brett: Aaron my alliance is with the fans TO THE OWNERS!!!!!! Rodgers: if you’re not with me.... then you’re my enemy. Brett: only a Cheesehead deals in absolutes.....I will do what I must. Rodgers: you will try.
Brett Favre is the greatest QB ever! His interceptions we're due to his receivers not being able to catch his bullets, breaking their fingers and bouncing off of their hands. He blocked like a lineman after handoffs and threw harder than MLB pitchers. He played with messed up ribs and fingers his last few years at GB. He took time to heal and damn near went undefeated with the Vikings. He is the Goat.
Watching back these highlight films from this magical season brings back awesome memories and reminds me of four things: 1.) Our defensive line was something to be feared. Unbelievable pass rush. 2.) The way Brett Favre threw those line-drive passes had some serious fire behind them. Receivers' hands had to be raw by the end of the games. 3.) Peterson was a stud. Too bad he was prone to putting the ball on the turf during clutch moments though. :( 4.) Percy Harvin was so dangerous (even after recently learning he was high during every game). How nuts!!
TBH, the Vikings should've made it to the Super Bowl in '09. They had a much more complete team than the Saints did that season. No disrespect to the Saints at all but it is true.
Exactly!! I am a packer fan but I was a Favre fan first and foremost, and I remember watching this game with my friends secretly wanting Favre to destroy the Packers that day lol... I was in high school and I still cared what people thought...
Erik Galicia then your not an actual packer fan, what the hell you can’t say you’re a packer fan if you want the f ing vikings to beat the crap out of them
@@ryansmith.8 actually u can be its called having admiration for a guy who made the packers what they were after so many years of nothing... its called respect... should learn it some time.
Roky Erickson rocks which was worse, Packers defenders trying to tackle Harvin in this game or Julio Jones in the NFC Championship vs Atlanta from the 2016 season?
Harvin was a bad man. Probably behind Moss in overall talent/ athleticism since I been watching in early 90s. There's no telling what he might've been without those migraines.
It was like watching the 3 stooges. Packers defense was a bunch of clowns in that game. Only reason they got turnovers was because the Vikings couldnt hold on to the ball. Not because the packers defense forced it.
even as a die hard packer supporter, this was a great game and great highlights to watch. hate that harvin's career got cut short by migraines. this is when Rodgers started to come out of it. slow starts but once he got going in a game there wasn't really much stopping him. was dying to see a rematch in the playoffs that year.
I went to the first game on Monday night and bought a vip tent package. I set about about ten feet from Davey real close to the end zone, what a great game , that was
Courtney Duncan the thing is we were 30 seconds away from beating them. if we had just run the clock down instead of trying to pass, we could easily have hit 50 yard field goal indoors. But, then again it is the vikings so i wouldn't have been surprised if they missed that field goal
Jack Griffin big reason we didn't run ball there was prob cause ap fumbled like 4 times in that game but honestly reason we lost that game was because of Childress who sent 12 men onto the field out of a time out to take us out a field goal range but we were robbed because of all the late hits on favre and other Viks that weren't called
Donald J Trump i completely agree with you there i grew up hating Favre but he was a tough son of a bitch and did remarkable thing for Green Bay and i dont understand why everybody in Green Bay was hatin' on him they did want him anymore so they traded him then he becomes a FA and took employment where it best suited him
@@starscream9683 And completely teased the fuck out of the fan base. Besides, the vikings' offer wasn't even the best deal for him anyway. Favre had several other better contracts he could've accepted.
Still amazes me how this specific team didn’t win the Super Bowl. Probably the best chance in my lifetime up until this point 🤦🏻♂️ Also, the Boo-urns bit from the Simpsons was a nice touch 😂
Sure and Brett was better choking constantly and throwing more picks than TD's in some years. If memory serves me correctly his last year with the Viqueens he threw 11 TD's to 19 INT'S. I have this sneaking suspicion you know nothing about Football.
Connor aqi These days you might as well pay attention to the radio instead of the TV. Especially Paul Allen the play by play guy on the radio for the Vikings.
Edwards sacking Rogers was, "OK, yeah...THAT is NFL speed!" No way he thought Edwards would "get there"... 2009 Viks were a Superbowl winning talent. Petterson was at his best and crazy good, Favre was on fire, Harvin (that pass @5:30 is Favre), Allen was a beast
Back when Rodgers got sacked for holding the ball instead of throwing it away when he was rolling out. As much as I enjoyed watching Brett Favre, I honestly think Aaron Rodgers changed the game and is the better quarterback by far. He's a runner, and I trust him way more than I did Favre.
Y'all just saying that cause yall Vikings fans and know that Rodgers the best qb right now. If Rodgers was on the Vikings, they'll probably get 3-4 rings with that D and say Rodgers is better then Favre. Smh..
sorry to ask this but since i am an amateur nfl fan. was green bay OL really that crappy that year, because I remember the other game where jarred allen had 4.5 sacks. or is it just allen
AP in his prime, Harvin/rice duo, Brett Favre, and Jared Allen causing trouble all game. That was a great year
Turner Jensen they were all on point this game, especially Percy! Wow
yeah no championship to show for it tho
that's cause AP kept dropping the ball. Dropped the ball running to the enddzone
Imagine if we still had Moss
We had moss that year mid season he sucked!
Brett Favre had a cannon at 40
Matt dub pain pills work wonders
Probably still has a better cannon than half the starting QB’s in the nfl
Philip Tucker Yeah, it's a well known fact that pain pills give a man the ability to throw a football 50 yards on a rope.
Andrew Clover lol not denying his talent, but when you're in the NFL that long it takes its toll on your body.
Many athletes get addicted to narcos because it gives them the ability to go out and preform over and over again despite their body telling them to slow down. Watch his interview about when he went cold turkey
Brett was running in front of AP at 40 years old 😂 I miss him. I don’t think anyone had more fun than him playing football.
That 2009 offense with the Vikings current defense....Holy hell that would be incredible.
Add Jared Allen as a pass-rush
We still lose knowing our luck.
How about the 98 offense? Not sure who to pick for Kicker though since they all have let us down at one time or another.
You can thank Percy Harvin for a lot of those points tho
I'm not a vikings fan but 2009 Vikings defense was better then 2017 Vikings defense.
So nobody's gonna mention the perfectly placed 'boo-urns' bit?
Brian Fitzsimmons best part of the video for me LOL
FR!!! 😂
I still feel like this Viking’s team should have won the SB that year.

Watching back these highlight films from this magical season brings back awesome memories and reminds me of four things:
1.) Our defensive line was something to be feared.
4.) Percy Harvin was so dangerous (even after recently learning he was high during every game). How nuts!!
TBH, the Vikings should've made it to the Super Bowl in '09. They had a much more complete team than the Saints did that season. No disrespect to the Saints at all but it is true.
New Orleans deserved it more with what happened that year in Louisiana...
If Zimmer was out DC definitely would have. Shit if we had Schumer this year we'd be leading our division.
*@William burd* then that means all teams in their home states who have natural or man-made diasters should deserve to win the super bowl
Natearl13 hold it right thier bitch it's not true
Natearl13 we been the championship game in 2006 got smash by Chicago and beat yall
Well done on the editing....looked like a Madden video game
I wasn't a Packer fan, I wasn't a Viking fan... IM A BRETT FAVRE FAN
Exactly!! I am a packer fan but I was a Favre fan first and foremost, and I remember watching this game with my friends secretly wanting Favre to destroy the Packers that day lol... I was in high school and I still cared what people thought...
Erik Galicia then your not an actual packer fan, what the hell you can’t say you’re a packer fan if you want the f ing vikings to beat the crap out of them
@@ryansmith.8hahaha...
@@ryansmith.8 actually u can be its called having admiration for a guy who made the packers what they were after so many years of nothing... its called respect... should learn it some time.
I remember this game like it was yesterday. Favre gave a wink & I knew he would get the win. Percy was outstanding.
Randy Moss it was one of the saddest things to watch... Favre got pounded weekly yet he always got back up & gave it his all.
5:17 Harvin made 3 packers run in to each other 😂😂😂😂
It was a joke watching GB defenders try to tackle PH.
That’s why he was called “Mercy Percy” in Florida.
It was like watching the 3 stooges. Packers defense was a bunch of clowns in that game. Only reason they got turnovers was because the Vikings couldnt hold on to the ball. Not because the packers defense forced it.
I remember this game it was the year I really started to get into football
even as a die hard packer supporter, this was a great game and great highlights to watch. hate that harvin's career got cut short by migraines. this is when Rodgers started to come out of it. slow starts but once he got going in a game there wasn't really much stopping him. was dying to see a rematch in the playoffs that year.
Wisconsinites praise Rodgers as being the "best QB in the NFL", yet he can't even beat his predecessor....
This was 10 years ago you dumbfuck. Rodgers was a rookie that just got done training under Favre
But Aaron Rodgers beat him twice the next year
I think they pissed him off with the boos I’ve never seen him throw the ball that hard 😂😂😂
Can’t wait for Aaron Rodgers returns to Lambeau in a few years!
I went to the first game on Monday night and bought a vip tent package. I set about about ten feet from Davey real close to the end zone, what a great game , that was
Rodgers went to JARED!!!
Skol TV more like JARED went to Rodgers lol
😂
He went to Jared in 2011 and got that 💍
the 09 vikings were one of the greatest teams ever
just behind the '98 team
Brett Favre demolishing his old team beautiful
Such a great team, hopefully we can continue our mojo into next year. It’s just magical to watch our Vikings play with a swagger to them.
That was an awesome Vikings season!!...regular season.
5:14 is one of my favorite plays ever. I just love how Percy goes up and then the 3 packers players just fall like dominos
Hahah I was going to post the same thing
That 09 Vikings team was championship caliber, too bad N.O bullied them
Courtney Duncan the thing is we were 30 seconds away from beating them. if we had just run the clock down instead of trying to pass, we could easily have hit 50 yard field goal indoors. But, then again it is the vikings so i wouldn't have been surprised if they missed that field goal
Jack Griffin big reason we didn't run ball there was prob cause ap fumbled like 4 times in that game but honestly reason we lost that game was because of Childress who sent 12 men onto the field out of a time out to take us out a field goal range but we were robbed because of all the late hits on favre and other Viks that weren't called
bountygate.
Can't beat the refs too
Vikings fans always so salty. Maybe y'all can finally win a super bowl this year so y'all can stop bein so salty 🙄
Been a fan since 1980 and still waiting for a superbowl win.
As a packer I'm a little disappointed on the fans on booing farve as he comes onto the field they should've them respect for what he done to them
Donald J Trump i completely agree with you there i grew up hating Favre but he was a tough son of a bitch and did remarkable thing for Green Bay and i dont understand why everybody in Green Bay was hatin' on him they did want him anymore so they traded him then he becomes a FA and took employment where it best suited him
@@starscream9683 And completely teased the fuck out of the fan base. Besides, the vikings' offer wasn't even the best deal for him anyway. Favre had several other better contracts he could've accepted.
I guess for all Packers fans from this game, thanks for the memories Brett Favre
great game even though Packers only got close once. Truly one of the best Vikings teams ever assembled.
Still amazes me how this specific team didn’t win the Super Bowl. Probably the best chance in my lifetime up until this point 🤦🏻♂️
Also, the Boo-urns bit from the Simpsons was a nice touch 😂
'98 will still be the best team to have never won. the scariest offense to have ever been fielded up to that point, but '09 was a HELL OF A SEASON BRO
It was so weird rooting for the Vikings in this game
I was in Lambeau when Farves number was placed in the Ring Of Honor . The Fans still love Brett Farve
Oh man this feels so good to watch. Hopefully we can give the Pack a run next year.
Muscle Hamster y’all injured they quarter back 😂😂😂😂
glassesthatsaybitch please, ARod isn't even the Goat of his franchise.
Sure and Brett was better choking constantly and throwing more picks than TD's in some years. If memory serves me correctly his last year with the Viqueens he threw 11 TD's to 19 INT'S. I have this sneaking suspicion you know nothing about Football.
glassesthatsaybitch Good enough to win the Packers 2x that year.
Randy Moss in 1998 and Brett Favre coming to the Vikes, pure Magic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had forgotten how great this game was. There was a ton of talent on that field.
Both GB games were off the hook!
The packers didn’t deserve Brett Favre
Yeah they deserved Rodgers. So misfortunate, except that they won the super bowl. Suck your Viking horn. Discount double check.
One of the Greatest 💯
Sad harvin had to deal with concussion issues and migraines. Couldve been one of the great ones.
He faked it to get away from soft coaches.
@@DerrickRG lol he had them his whole career. But at least he got his ring.
I was looking for the full game and couldn't find it.
every time Green Bay looked like it is coming close Vikings denied it
I was kinda expecting Farve to attempt a Lambeau leap lol.
These commentators are so boring when the teams score
Connor aqi I'm sure there won't be another Howard Cosell or Pat Summerall
Noah kdkdkd I prefer Favre over Rodgers because he’s not a baby when it comes to getting hit.
Yeah I definitely agree. Rodgers seems to be a coward/pansy to be honest, on and off the field.
CJ P thank you! I cant get behind a dirt bag
Y'all just saying that cause yall Vikings fans and know that Rodgers the best qb right now. If Rodgers was on the Vikings, they'll probably get 3-4 rings with that D and say Rodgers is better then Favre. Smh..
Noah kdkdkd ur the only one that thinks that
Man i remember this game!
Who is here after Jordan love just got drafted
It’s been so long since the Vikings have had a good defense that can generate pressure on the QB I had to watch this.
upload 2016 Week 16 :)))))
How about Week 6, 2017? Lol
sorry to ask this but since i am an amateur nfl fan. was green bay OL really that crappy that year, because I remember the other game where jarred allen had 4.5 sacks.
or is it just allen
What's up with the announcers in this game? They so obviously are rooting for the packers... worshipping and making excuses for Rodgers
LostIn TheGarden It’s Troy Aikman and Joe Buck. Aikman hates the vikings from his playing career and he has hated us since.
that's the viking life for ya
Should have had it all that year. Damn you Gregg Williams
1998 too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When the Vikings owned the Packers. Good Times
lol its coming back Week 12 2018 Vikings 24 Packers 17
4 superbowls to 4 superbowl losses
The Boo-ing commentary by Smithers and Mr. Burns, was that added by FOX within the broadcast, or by the uploader?
Packers do that stupid Lambeau Leap even when they're getting their asses kicked.
I miss this😢
I really cant even stand Rogers at all.
Total derp
We have to admire Sullivan’s catch and reaction after the ball popped out at the goal line. No lineman hands there.
back when rodgers wasnt a BAAAAAAD MAN!!! LOL
5:37 Like watching a bowler hitting the seven, ten split.
crushed em!!! #BlowPackBlow
2Time #fuckyourowndick
