I see you're using a Transpro plus hat press. How do you like it? I'm in the market to buy one now and Don't really want to get the Stahls. I own a Transpro plus shirt press and love it.
At 1:11 you two LoneStar multi-colored patches or decals sitting on the leatherette. Is that something you made or did they send those to you? I'm just wondering if that's a laserable item they sell?
I've never done any leather work. Do this pass the washing machine test? Most folks I know actually wash their hats. Personally, I'm not a hat guy anymore. Washable and stay on?
Was that 2nd time you cut the sample square on the same 50/40?
Love your videos as always. What do you use to clean the leatherette?
Most of the time I use little to no air and don’t need to clean them. Otherwise a little LA Awesome
I live in an apartment with smoke detectors everwhere with sprinklers in every room. Would that smoke set off alarms if you're doing a bunch of those patches? Thoughts on an entry level laser?
How do you like the Vevor hat press? I’m just looking for something budget to make hats for myself.
I just got the Vevor yellow hat press with auto top platen. I built up the bottom platen with cut mouse pads to eliminate creasing on the Richardson hats and so far so good. $129 for the press.
hii there! have you tried out their brushed copper or stainless steel stuff? I just engraved some and they are AMAZING, buttt pressing was a whole notha' storyyyy lol
I have not yet but I have some of my own that I plan on applying the adhesive to and giving it a go.
@@BeardedBuildsCo trial and error right now with learning how to press it!!! Lol
Hows the pressing? I want to try some of that, but was wondering about it
Do you clean and seal you patches before pressing? Thanks
Clean yes if I can see residue. Seal, no need with leatherette.
Very good video bro! Can the lonestar leatherette be cut with a diode laser?
Yes it can! Thank you!
Awesome, thanks for the rapid reply! Just subscribed and hit the bell!

Stuck between lonestar and hydbond. Any difference? Thanks for the video
I’m a loyal person. Josh has always been an amazing business man and killer customer support. I will always be going with Lonestar.
Any chance you can say who the competitor was? I am trying to decide between a few different products.
JDS
Ive got lonestar premium leatherette on the way ill.never go back to jds
What do you seal your patches with?
This is leatherette and requires no sealant.
Do you know if your leatherette is PVC free?
It is formulated for laser engraving. PVC free
what watt laser are you using and does it have air assist on or off? I always get lots of charring and I find that masking tape helps with that but it looks like you are burning directly to the product and they come out looking very clean, even before your cleanup.
if you're getting charring then you power is too high.
What did you end up backing that power down to, bud?
23% but do your testing
