My thoughts are that this release has opened an entirely new RC category. Epic.
It actually is quite different than all the bikes out there. Every single one has a flywheel on the actual rear wheel including the Sky Rc. Exceed Rc was the first to do a powered flywheel on the rear wheel. LOSI put the flywheel in the center of the frame which is brushless with a governor to keep a constant speed. They also put a gyro for the steering and throttle control. All the others are manual control. I have the sky rc, exceed rc, thunder tiger, Kyosho, and a custom German-built Ducattil dual-sort RC motorcycle. I was a fanatic of RC motorcycles. The LOSI is 10 times better. IMO it is revolutionary and the best RC product to come out in years. It rekindled the RC dirtbike for me. I bought 2 other LOSI. One is going to be my Super Moto hoping to mod it to hit 100+ mph. It's going to be easy peasy as it tracks really straight on the Airport Runway. I hope they come out with a race quad that is actual scale. Not an rc car with an ATV body but a real quad frame design with a rider that shifts weight for turning. That would be sick
Takes me back to the 90s when TYCO released their dirtbike.
I always wanted that bike. At the time one was never availible at Toys R Us. They jaf about every other tho. That bike stayed sold out. They had a mortorcyle too.
I had the purple sport bike Tyco made. That thing was tons of fun!

Land speed record running : TWEEK wheel opposite direction wanting to turn ,wheels go out from under motorcycle causing opposite direction turning emidatly (WHEEL edge is what causes turning when leaning)

As far as the technology goes, they have done something new for RC motorcycles. While gyro's and flywheels have been around for years, none has been put to use specifically for RC motorcycles. It's years ahead of any other motorcycles. I have an old nitro Ducati motorcycle, that thing was a piece of junk 😂 I haven't ordered this one yet, I'll get one eventually though

Awesome! I appreciate the sub so much! Honestly we just started jumping it in wheelie mode and it was jumping so well that I didn’t even bother changing it lol. Maybe if I was on a dirt track I would want more control to nose into landings etc but the way I was hitting this jump I just stayed in the throttle and it did it’s thing lol

The steering is exactly how a 1:1 motorcycle turns.
Yep the only time you turn normal is at very slow speeds. Like 10mph or less

I never understood what people meant by this… I see the RC turning is opposite but when I ride a bike I don’t turn the opposite direction? See people riding dirt bikes at all speeds… turning just like you would would a bicycle? They turn the handle bars right, the forks turn right, the bike goes right… not the opposite direction like this? What kinda dirt bikes is everyone else riding wtf🤔
@@V8chump Go ride a 1:1 motorcycle at anything over 15 mph and you will find out what everyone is talking about. Its called counter steering. When you get a motorcycle up to speed you actually push your handle bars the way you want to go and it makes the bike dive into the corners. Its hard to explain to someone. Once your a semi-experienced rider you will understand counter steering on two wheels and how it works.
@@jhawk1985 100% i let my passenger steer from the back seat on my bike one time, she tried to muscle it and point the wheel the direction she wanted to go and was surprised every time the bike went exactly opposite of what she was trying to do. Lol

I actually started out jumping in wheelie mode and it jumped so well I left it there. I may play around jumping in other modes on my next video to see what happens.

Seems like a lot of fun! Everyone took a crack at it and was able to drive it. That says something doesn't it? After all those jumps nothing broke? We have a local 1/8 track I am hoping we can convince to make a losi bike night! There seems to be a few locals getting into them. I have to wait a couple of months before I can order mine.
No breakage yet! Hard on battery leads cramming them into it. Sorted that out a bit with a couple shorty packs I had. Can’t believe it hasn’t broke yet honestly lol
I just got mine in today, things awesome, havent hit any jumps yet but its really simple to drive as long as you understand how to turn a motorcycle

I wonder if you can back off the slipper clutch so it wouldn't pop the front end up . Nobody is making adjustments to the clutch.

I would say so. It definitely loops out quick if it’s not in wheelie mode and you punch it lol. I think the pavement mode is supposed to really help keep the front end down but I haven’t tried it out much yet.
It's always funny to me when non-motorbikers find out about counter steering, one mod anyone could do to make it turn easier and more consistently is to put more weight on the front wheel to exaggerate the gyroscopic counter steering effect.

Hello Matt nice video very entertaining have a question the spokes on the wheels have you had a problem with those bending or breaking RC driver had his and his were bent up and he wasn't doing half as what you were doing with jumps yours look fine?
Hey! Thanks for the comment. I do have a couple on the front wheel that look to have a slight bend but nothing that looks like it would hurt anything or even any real stress marks like they would crack or break. I’ve definitely been hard on mine but so far it’s taking the abuse. The main thing that isn’t going to last is the clothes lol. First run on blacktop (a few mins ago) and I ripped an elbow out lol. I’ll definitely be doing an update vid soon!

Matt, good morning . Could I trouble you for two measurements of the losi promoto mx? I'm wanting to set it on a shelf that I already have up in my hobby room . And still no word from Horizon hobby about my pre-order. I need the length from center to center of the wheels . And the width from outside to outside of the lean bars . And I'll divide by 2 and will see if I can keep the shelf, or have to by a large one . Whenever it's convenient for you . Thank you . Have a great day .
Hey! No prob at all. The length from wheel nut to wheel nut is about 14 1/4” and the width from outside to outside is 10”. Hope this helps and hopefully you’ll hear something soon on the shipment! I think they’ve been bombarded with orders on these things lol
@2fmrc Thank you, Matt . I think I'm buying a new shelf, lol . As far as getting one soon, I think that's just wishful thinking . I contacted Horizon Hobby by their stupid live online texting crap yesterday. And some guy named Chris c. He told me that there is no way to tell how long it's going to take . That it depends on when I ordered mine vs. When the other ones were ordered. But would not tell me when the date of the first ones were ordered and how many have been sent out or what date they are up to now. When i asked if for an estimate, if it would be a week , month , year , or decad , he ✂️ off our conversation. So I called my local hobby shop here in Vegas. Friendly hobby. They told me that they have only received 10% of all the pre-orders they have . And that they can not get any information from their suppliers on when the next batch will come . Do you know the date you placed your order, Matt? It reminds me of the Playstation 5 pre-ordered fiasco. It took a year for my son in law to get one . No one could give any information in that situation either. Do you know who is doing the manufacturing of this losi promoto mx ? ... is it being manufactured in China. Or is it in the US? does the bike straighten out when you put the steering wheel back to neutral? or like an airplane, do you have to straighten out the bike by maneuvering the steering wheel??? like the SR5 super rider i have. thks
It basically straightens itself out. You kinda find yourself going back and forth a bit at slower speeds for sure but it pretty much centers back up. It absolutely feels & looks like you’re riding a real bike imo. I just got my first run on blacktop with it and watching it dive turns and kick the front wheel out is just amazing.

Lmao 🤣 you sent it so hard !!! NO you can NOT run it on 3s .... the motor can handle it but they say the gyro will not . I have mine on pre-order . And I have a question for you . Did they notify you by email when it was being shipped? Because mine still says on backorder. And I can't get an answer out of horizon hobby. I suggest you watch all the great videos they have from losi on how to do all the upgrades. So well done and informative. I ordered the blue one too . Any buddy nice to see you again . Counter steering (turn left to go right, right to go left) is how all motorcycles work, so this thing is functioning like a real bike.
Yeah it’s amazing they made it work so well. It’s part of why it looks so realistic when cornering though!

Only 2s. Neither the main esc or the flywheel esc are rated for 3s. It rips on 2s though!
What's the average run times you're getting? Curious cause it's running two motors..
In the thick grass I’m probably getting 20 mins. I feel like it would easily get 25-30 on packed dirt or blacktop. It’s pretty amazing how long it runs with all of the stuff it’s powering. I’m sure it depends how much you’re on the throttle etc. I’ve been running some 8000mah packs but they got some age to them so they aren’t getting full run time I’m sure. I think most are getting 20-25 mins or so on the spektrum g2 battery. I ordered one to test out and see how it runs on those vs the cheaper packs I’m using. Hope this helped!

You said parts and things are available for it the are NOT yet ! A whole lot of people are getting pretty pissed off at losi and horizon cuz we can't even get order !! It was ordered it on July 22nd , no communication from Osceola rising just playing back ordered in fact their site says available June of 2023 what ?? it's July !!
Yeah when I made this video all the mess hadn’t completely unfolded yet lol. The parts were up for preorder which was to be expected for the first wk or so after launch but then it all went south lol

Yeah luckily I was in on the first shipment. I ordered mine the minute they were up for preorder and paid for 2 day shipping lol. I have the green ordered as well through amain and no word on it yet.

Yeah they definitely made the technology much much better but it’s not really a brand new idea. I didn’t mean to play down what they did but I had a few people who were just amazed of a self righting Rc motorcycle and I was like well…… 😆

Top speed run?
Yeah I gotta take it out somewhere I can open it up. The huge launch off that jump was at full speed but it’s hard to stay consistent in the gravel.

Already got 3-4 chargers so I’m set on that. I would recommend most people buy the battery they recommend. I found my zeee 6000mah shorty packs fit really well. I just have like 20 2s batteries from my track days that need to be used anyway so I decided to hold off on the batts lol. I did grab one to run in it and compare.

The bloke on the bike is to big it doesn't look quite right .
I think it looks slightly better than most of the other bikes available but he does seem a little large at certain angles to me.

So the only people getting these have a channel..I preordered on June 22. So they shut everything down and select few get them. I’m done here. I am canceling as soon as the site comes back on. The thing is looking like a money pit and it drives like shit. Not worth the 1000 that will be spent right out of the gate with all the crap that should have installed on it in the first place. Plus proline. It does not preform well enough for that kind of money
I ordered mine from horizon. Only reason I have it is the blue shipped first and I PAID for 2 day shipping. If you have an email I can send you receipts? They had no idea I have a channel. Horizon won’t recognize my channel because I don’t put out infomercials like all the others. I will say this thing is the most fun I’ve had with any Rc in awhile. I already placed an order for a green one as well 🤘
