Hey Matt, it's Tim . I just wanted to let you and your subscribers know I did just receive my promoto mx . I pre-ordered on the 26th of June. And was sure that it would be Christmas until I would see it . There was no email notifying me that it had shipped. My wife found it on the doorstep . 30 minutes later, I got a text saying it was delivered . Anyway, I just wanted to give a little hope to those who are still waiting. That they are shipping them . BTW if you use a heat gun with the CA de-bonder it works much better. i use low temp on my heat gun. You still need to wear gloves but it won't melt your rim. The glue comes right off. Thanks for all your tips, this channel is a National Treasure when I'm stuck on a project. Also sorry about the two comments I hate editing the old one, lol.

Horizon still has their Duratrax tires on closeout, so there are some pretty cheap options right now for those not wanting to cut up a Proline tire.
Hey Matt, no substitute for brains, lol. Still have not heard a word from Horizon hobby on the one I pre-ordered. I enjoyed that video, I would not have thought that tire would have ever fit that rim . It did look good . Stay cool 😎
What an absolute faf! I can't believe Losi underestimated this so badly and then pulled all spares to try and meet unit demand... I am kinda glad I couldn't get one for the channel now as I would have ended up promoting an unavailable product 😐
Yeah it’s been a mess. I’m definitely glad I got one lol. Having too much fun with it. It’s honestly probably a bad thing for my channel though because I don’t even care about crawlers atm 😆

Great info I wonder if you could use foam weather stripping like you mentioned or backer rod “tube foam for pre filling big gaps for caulking” of proper width. Then stick the self adhesive side to the tire itself. That way centrifugal force won’t spin out the foam from staying true to shape 🤷🏻♂️ stiff waiting for my bikes 🤯

I know those tires u put on look super cool👍is there a way to cut the foam to fit how u want it then wrap and glue it around the rim then put ur tire on and glue it? Kind of like u have to do with Tamiya foams and tires
Probably could. The main issue I had with the other foams I tried is they are just way too soft. So when you stretch the tire it fits really tight and almost compressed those foams to nothing. I think some sticky back weatherstripping would work pretty well but haven’t tried any yet.
If you've remove the side covers, did you notice the air intakes on both covers ? One up high that cools the drive motor, and one down low to cool the gyro housing. There is a screw that let's the vent be open. Great in smooth clean areas.
Yeah I seen that. I was gonna pull mine but haven’t had any heat issues yet so I just left them to keep the junk out lol. It’s crazy all the grass and stuff that builds up inside the thing already.
@2fmrc I'm going to take mine out, I don't have a heat problem either... but mine will never see anything but nice smooth clean tarmac. I love this thing. Thank you !

Should be able to. I was going to do a set but all I had were some very aggressive 2.2s that I didn’t really want and an old set of rovers I wasn’t cutting lol

Yeah i’ve used those in crawlers before. Still actually running them on my ryft lol. A bit too soft for these when stretching the tire so tight. I bet they may work over top of the stock foam to sort of film the tire a bit more though. May have to try it.

Pretty much. I even used a 2.2/3.0 short course tire and just cut to fit.

Use that de-bonder with a heat gun. Works way better

We did similar with monster truck tires when we were modding Radio Shack Ricky Bikes...
will the duct tape trick work ? Line the tire with the duct tape stiffens the tire from the inside,
