Thanks for doing that adjustment on clutch. Your right nobody ever messed with adjusting. That's what I was hoping would happen. So we have a positive their.
Now to see it in a race to see the limit you can go without losing ground or race because of it slipping. Good video
Yeah I tightened it slightly after this and it has a pretty good sweet spot but it was on the concrete so it’ll be totally different on dirt. I wish I had a good track around!

When you first got it you said you don't think it would be something you would play with much and I figured that would change cause it's the most fun I have had with an RC since the first XMAXX came out. It's insanely fun and your always learning something new with it. lol
Yeah I kinda figured the new would wear off and it would sit but it runs much better In basically every terrain that I expected. I didn’t think it would be all that much fun around the house but it’s been a blast! I’m actually thinking about building a small track for it out back now 😆
@@2fmrc Sorry for the late reply. You should build a track! That would get so many views! I have been jumping mine onto my barn roof and back down to a landing ramp. You can buy mini BMX inflatable landing ramps for kids. It's perfect for landing the Promoto MX off of huge jumps. I paid 120 for my inflatable landing ramp at the BMX shop. It is worth every penny jumping off of the barn roof.

Awesome adjustment tutorial. I have a few RC bikes (Especially love my 1/4 scale dirt bike from Himoto) and absolutely love them. Can't wait for this to be released next month in Aus... Have one on preorder already. Think what Losi have done, especially with the gyro where it is, has helped the wacky handling that bikes with the rear wheel gyro have. I'll buy the supermoto wheels and tyres too. Cannot wait. These things are epic!

Just got my blue pro-mx. yeah the gyro is the most important and the clutch may take 1st place in the critical class
On dirt 12:00 is about best on the gyro and I'm going to do clutch trim tomorrow. Maybe 1.5 out?.. we'll see.

Yeah I seen most of those. Haven’t seen anything on the slipper or calibrating the esc for more brake. Working on that one now 🤘
@2fmrc its buried in the 50 minute video getting to know the promoto definitely more handy if you make a shorter video on it its a cool video because the engineer on the team is the one discussing how to do it

I made substantial adjustment counterclockwise to loosen up the slipper clutch but I don't see any significant changes during road mode. How do I find out if the slipper clutch became too loose?
So what setting did you end up using on concrete? Did you back it out all the way and do a quarter turn in or how much did you come back in from all the way out on the slipper?

@2fmrc cool ! I removed the cooling vent covers... I dont have a heat issue, but mine doesn't see dirt or grass, just a clean open pavement lot. I also took some vinyl screen, painted two pieces "red" and put a peice in side the vents, to keep debri out.
I was really thinking I would wait until the second batch came out before I pulled the trigger and bought one. After watching many reviews, I'm getting one Friday. These are just too cool of an RC not to have one. 900$ with tax in here in Canada. Extra batteries are 100$
I watched a review of a guy who printed a smaller sprocket for the rear wheel to increase top speed. Got it to 54 MPH, so extra 12 MPH. Really noticed it on the low end torque , though. He also found out that chain is actually a standard size. The one on the bike does not have a master link, BTW.
I didn't know the slipper clutch was adjustable. I wouldn't want to go too loose, may burn it up, with no replacements available.
One last note, if you don't call that jump you did full send, I don't know. You've already done some pretty hard stuff, and it's still holding up. It must be pretty good, and this is a product you recommend, so I'm going for it !!
Yeah so far mine has held up really well! I ordered several different pinions to play with on mine because there’s no way a printed part would hold on mine. It would be broke in seconds 😆. I do think this runs the same slipper as their 22 buggy lineup so that may be the one part we CAN get lol. I didn’t see a master in the chain so figured it would have to be broke. Wonder if I still have my old chain breaker tool from the bmx days?!!! Hmmm I may have to look around lol. Appreciate the comment and hope you love it as much as I do if you go for it!

Hey Matt, could you tell me how many threads are showing passed the end of the nut . I putt the carbon fiber frame plates on ... and I didn't think about counting the threads or taking a picture of it when I took it apart. But I just noticed I should have . So if you have a good idea where it was stock, that would be great. Thank you .

Yeah I leave mine in wheelie mode most of the time lol. But even in the on road mode it still lifts the front end a lot so I wanted to play around with the slipper to dial it down some. Gonna play with pinions next.
So i wonder if putting a lower KV 2 in 1 motor (hobbywing do a 1400kv i think) would allow you to run 3S without overspeeding the flywheel
You can run a voltage step down for the flywheel esc to run it on 2s and run the main motor on 3s. The problem is the Flywheel has a governor on the controller to keep a constant speed from the inertia put on it.
@@FarmerFpv Yes i think all of the 2 in 1 motors (which are basically crawler motors) effectively have governors on them. Hobbywing and spektrum both call it FOC (where torque is adjusted to maintain a given speed regardless of the terrain). Depending on how much current the flywheel needs (maybe a bit at startup?) it might need to be quite a large regulator to step down 11v to 8v.

Yeah you would definitely have to have a bunch of guys who can really drive to have some good racing. I’ve seen a few vids of them on the track and I’m thinking…. Man I wouldn’t wanna be racing next to those guys 😆
How's wheelie mode with slipper loosened up?
Depends how much you loosen it really. If it’s too loose it won’t wheelie at all.
Invest on a Solo Shot 3 or Pixem 2 camera tracker so you can concentrate on driving.
Will they keep up with the faster RCs? I’ve never owned anything with tracking that could keep up most of the time lol

Not sure about full throttle no wheellie because if it doesnt even attempt to lift the front that clutch is slipping a little too much.

They say it’s like “water resistant” it wouldn’t bother me a bit to run mine in the rain or through puddles etc but I definitely wouldn’t submerge it at all.

I ordered a spare gyro so once it arrives maybe I’ll test it out lol. That or I’ll seperate the power to the gyro from the esc/motor. If I can find enough room to stuff another battery pack in it!

No doubt!!! Probably my favorite in a decade!
i had a rc dirt bike years ago, it was uncontrollable as it didn't have a linear throttle response you touched the throttle and it just flipped over backwards. I discovered you could adjust the clutch, same thing as this clutch, loosened it off and it was more drivable but the clutch slipped so much it melted the clutch plate onto the gear drive, was a waste of time and money. It looks like this model will fail the same way, your clutch adjustment has put me off buying one......im sure the clutch will fry itself
Well I mean the clutch adjustment really isn’t needed on this one because the thing almost drives itself if you have any idea how to control the throttle. I just wanted to see how it affected the bike mostly. I run mine tight most of the time so it will wheelie easier since in wheelie mode it holds itself anyway lol
