I used to be homeless and those playground tubes were an ideal spot to sleep. So it’s almost amusing to hear how others are getting spooked just by seeing someone in there. Makes me wonder how many people I’ve unintentionally scared
People these days are so spoiled by freedom that they shit their pants about everything
Reminds me of a time my job sent me out of town. Hotel wasnt covered, and I got nailed with an overdraft that morning, so when I was too tired to make the long drive home, I slept in a playground tube since the nighttime weather was great and my car at the time was too small to really sleep in (which is a shame, since I could camp in my previous one). Well, I got woken up when I started hearing a few kids playing in the playground, and it wasnt more than about 10 seconds til a kid came through and startled me. We both ended up screaming and getting out of there. I ran right to my car and booked it out of there before parents could call the cops on me or anything like that

These places did not mean for people to sleep at and even that there are innocent homeless people the possibility of a messed up psychos being there just to prey on people is still valid.
Note to self: Do not install playground in yard.

In 2001 most people did not have cell phones. Some did but in reality most people did not. I remember getting a cell in 2001 and I was one of a couple of kids in school who did. No one texted lol. I would say it was around mid 2000s when most people got cells.

Listening to these stories reminds of a scary situation of my own. I was approximately 11yrs old, walking home from the shop back to my Nanna's home, I noticed a light blue station wagon following me, scared the hell out of me so I quickly knocked on someone's front door, thank God she answered the door, I told her what was happening, she even saw the car herself slowly driving past her home, needless to say she walked me back to my Nan's house, which was only a few minutes away! It's rather scary when ur little. Let alone when ur an adult, all ur childhood memories and nightmares drift back.

So I was playing tag with my friends and one of my friends crawled under one of those crawlspaces. I ran over to the other side to see if I could tag him. On the other side was a hand, I screamed and told my mom that there was a hand on the playground. She didn't believe me but I convinced her to come over. And the hand was gone. I build up the bravery to go under. My friend was laying there. I looked left and there was a eye. I found out my friend fainted from fear. The man ran away and I couldn't find him. My friend was fine but we are never going to that playground again.
