- The airport can already be an unpleasant place, but what about when you have an unexpected, unwanted encounter? These are 4 allegedly true horror stories that all take place (for the most part) in airports.

That’s what I do when people fake themselves as my cousins asking me grandparents for money over the phone. “GRANDDAD I MISSED YOU” uhhh no around here we call him papa
Something similar happened to my dad once. He was in a hotel in Chicago & someone knocked at his door. When he asked who it was, they said it was hotel staff. He asked what they wanted. They told him his brother had an accident & he needed to come with them so they could take my dad to him. My Dad said, that's really surprising & they insisted he needed to hurry. At which point he said, it's surprising because he doesn't have a brother. They tried to turn the door knob but no use, Dad travelled for a living. He knew how to keep himself safe in hotel rooms! And he'd gotten straight on the phone to the front desk to tell them and they were great at helping him (moved rooms, etc). Never caught them of course, but Dad was told this wasn't unusual, so whenever this happened, be careful of opening your door! :-O

Red Bull Don't make assumptions. I'm American and when I was a kid, my Mom hammered stranger danger into my head almost every single day. It got to the point where I made almost no friends when I was a kid due to my paranoia.

Best case scenario, yes. But my thought - being a cynic 😬 - was that he was the 3rd guy, or otherwise involved somehow. Maybe he got cold feet or something but it sounds to me like he knew because he was part of the scheme, or somehow involved.

Its so sad that despite so many parents always stressing the stranger danger, kids still get kidnapped and these things still happen. As a kid, stranger danger was always stressed to me, but I never really fully got it through my head, which is pretty stupid. I feel like we should better train kids for these kinds of situations. Like if somebody you dont know says that they know your mom or dad or whoever you're with, ask them to tell you your parent's name, birthday or other information that only somebody who actually knew them would know. I feel like this would prevent many kidnappings in the future
Is this an American thing because I am Caribbean and it's called common sense. If you even look crazy at me you're going to get a whopping. Our parents didn't do this kind of stupidity and as a child and an adult I'm not trusting nobody coming up on me.

True. I worked at Logan airport in Boston in terminal B for over a year and these seem really unlikely. There were state police everywhere and we are trained before we get our badges that if you see ANYTHING that doesn't seem right at all to call the state police. Our badges have the police number on them. I've seen some creepy unnerving people at the airport though. Wack. Still gotta be careful.

Last year January I received the good news I was pregnant. To say the least my nausea was so bad, I quit my job and stayed home for the remainder of my pregnancy. Tv bores the heck out of me! Used to work different day/night shifts at Edinburgh airport. Let me tell you the difference in seeing the airport busy as hell during the day,to the transition of it being completely dead at night waiting on a 3-4am flight coming in was a strange experience, literally like an abandoned building,knowing its full durin the day to seeing it hauntingly quiet is just a eerie feeling I can't explain,but you can probably imagine. Can't put my finger on it.
