Song for America again was written well over 40 yrs ago. How well did they describe how we fucked it up
Kerry Levgren wrote all these early songs and is a very underated pianist. Thank you god for bringing his music and talent to the world.
My favorite Kansas song! Perfection both musically and lyrically. I agree with Savio that the keyboard playing is the highlight. Steve Walsh is often talked about as the great lead singer, and deservedly so. But he is also one of the greatest keyboard players of the prog genre and of his generation!
@@michaelbaucom4019 You're absolutely right! I just wanted to give a shout out for Steve because his keyboard playing is so underrated. He also carried the torch on keys in a great way after Kerry left the band.
We saw Kansas (or what is left of them) play this song 11 days before your reaction at Summit Park in Cincinnati, OH. Those were better days. Kansas is a very honest band, and the lyrics to this song are no exception. You both appeared to nail the truth in the lyrics, and it appeared to resonate with your shared experience. Overall a positive take.

Enjoying your reactions! Wonderful job folks! This song is fantastic, but not necessarily a happy tune lyrically. It talks of a land that was beautiful, and nurtured by indigenous people, and got trampled and run over for its riches and space by Europeans, which creates what we have now, which is wishing for a beautiful unpaved place that is not ruined. Deep song, and musically flawless! Great reactions from your page. I enjoy seeing people hear the music for the first time I am familiar with. Keep up the great work! Namaste
I totally agree with some of the comments. Bass playing incredible. Phil ehart is one of the cleanest tightest drummers ever. Don't know if you have done it ,and I think I have mentioned it before .you should do journey from Maria bronn. Some really awesome drumming their. Because Kansas's songs are so long that's probably what kept them off the radio. But these reaction videos lets people get a chance to see how great they are.
