    Using 1920 ft by 1080 ft (the same resolution as 1080p) cant be a coincidence, right? 😉

    Nice. I have been looking at ideas for our future home for awhile and I keep coming back to do this our selves. Question though, if you have to frame the inside why buy a metal building kit? Would it be cheaper to just side the outside with OSB and tin and skip the steel studs? Thank you.

    • @DudeWeCanBuildIt
      @DudeWeCanBuildIt  5 месяцев назад +1

      There are a lot of variables, however, the metal building kit was quite cheap and provided the entire dried-in structure.
      By the time you price in exterior sheathing, roof trusses and supporting structures, along with your roofing deck and materials, the metal building makes a lot of sense.

    Why not wet-set the anchor bolts

    • @DudeWeCanBuildIt
      @DudeWeCanBuildIt  8 месяцев назад +2

      I would have preferred to wet set the anchor bolts, however, the manufacturer did not want me to do that. They supply and install their own anchor bolts.

    Great job, say can you tell me where to buy the framing hardware? How much was the plans and permit fees. Thank you for you input. Have a great day.

    • @DudeWeCanBuildIt
      @DudeWeCanBuildIt  8 дней назад

      I purchased the building from safeguard metal buildings.
      They provided the materials and labor to assemble the metal building. They also provided the engineered plans for the permit office.
      The building was $15,500
      Permits were around $400

    I do have a legit question(no hate). When they raise the walls using the block to make sure it is at the correct height, then place two screws in, those two screw are literally holding the weight of the roof and walls? Or did they go back and put bolts or something in?

    • @DudeWeCanBuildIt
      @DudeWeCanBuildIt  8 месяцев назад +1

      They came back and added two more screws to each leg. So, a total of 4 screws for each leg. It seems like they would put bolts through each leg, however, it's an engineer stamped building and that's how they want it.

    • @COVolcom
      @COVolcom 5 месяцев назад +1

      I've got the same exact metal building and I never once though about that. But you're right, if they have to raise that stud to get it to the correct height, all the weight of that section is on those screws.

    Pregunta: Why are you installing the siding sheets top first? The lap where the underneath sheet sits on top of the upper piece will be susceptible to obvious water coming in as the rain roles down the building wall. Are you able to slip the underneath piece behind the top piece?

    • @DudeWeCanBuildIt
      @DudeWeCanBuildIt  Год назад +3

      Yes, we are able to slip the sheet underneath and then install the remaining screws

      Safeguard metal buildings out of Texas.

    • @DudeWeCanBuildIt
      @DudeWeCanBuildIt  Год назад +3

      You can order a square tube building as a kit to put together yourself or with install included.
      Versatube is the name brand manufacturer, they are expensive.
      There are many other manufacturers, I used Safeguard Metal Buildings

    5:45 a couple small self tapping screws are carrying the weight of your building??? That can't MEET CODE ??? Put one or two 3/8" or 1/2" bolts through there to carry the load.

    • @DudeWeCanBuildIt
      @DudeWeCanBuildIt  5 месяцев назад

      It is an engineer stamped building, however, bolts would definitely be sturdier!

      What point of the video makes you think that? These guys were amazing. Worked quick and precise. Made off the cuff changes when asked. We don’t have a bad word to say about them. If you’re talking about the cuts I can see where it would look that way but when stuff is getting covered with trim you don’t need straight edge machine looking cuts. And we are not affiliated with these people at all. So whatever we say about them is our genuine opinion

      @@DudeWeCanBuildIt mostly the way none of the fasteners were put in square. Also the Sanuks 😂. But I don't mean to be critical. It sounds like the build turned out nice. And as long as you're happy with it.

    • @DudeWeCanBuildIt
      @DudeWeCanBuildIt  11 дней назад +1

      Is that an opinion or a fact that it’s weak? It’s wind rated for 150mph. Our other videos show building the frame work for the inside and building the rest of the building. It’s pretty sturdy you should consider looking into it a little more.

      @@DudeWeCanBuildIt Just my opinion from what I've seen so far. I can't believe that the posts are only held in by 4 tack screws. they don't have a very good sheer factor I would think. I'd get it all checked by an engineer.

    • @DudeWeCanBuildIt
      @DudeWeCanBuildIt  8 дней назад

      The building is an engineered and stamped building. The structure is not load bearing, that is why we framed out the inside which adds strength

    Ouch the first anchor was NOT LONG ENOUGH, or he had to back out the nut more but your not supposed to hammer down the nut until it puts pressure on bar?????? TERRIBLE

    • @DudeWeCanBuildIt
      @DudeWeCanBuildIt  3 месяца назад +2

      I don't think you are understanding the anchor type they are using. The drill bit is longer than the anchor so that it won't bottom out in the hole. When the nut is tightened, the nodule on the end expands the sleeve to make compression.
