    PLEASE NOTE: If you should see a comment from me saying you have been selected for a prize, it is not me, but rather just some scammer trying to get your money. You have been warned! Note that the real Captain Drone has a check mark beside the logo when commenting.

    I made a homemade one using a remote drop system. And totally reusable and I can Control when the parachute is to be released . Spring loaded. I use Estes rocket nylon parachutes. Again Captain thank you very much a wonderful video I almost bought one of these I’m glad I didn’t the mere fact that you have to send it off to repack seems like a pain in the bottom.

      This got pasted to the wrong Post. This is now the correct plce.
      Hey Bro: Now If you had a device like this disguised as a Bomb or Rocket (Pilot Deployable) to be used as an emergency parachute system like the (Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) For Expensive R/C model aircraft weighing from 25 to 65 Lbs.
      At our R/C Field in AJ AZ this winter, I witnessed the destruction of over $50,000 worth of TOY model R/C Turbine & Gas powered that could have been saved from total destruction by such a Ballistic Recovery System (BRS) or CAPS. It wouldn't save landing accidents but would save many that can't make an emergency landing back on the runway from total destruction & save most of the expensive parts.

    I think it's a great idea, but I just don't like the idea of having to order another one, and not be able to insert the parachute back into the box?
    I'm sure they're a little expensive, so not being able to reassemble the parachute is not cool. Another thing now that we know all of that, will you be charged again for ordering the replacement? Because if you do? I don't know about that.
    Thanks again Steve for another great video. I think it was definitely one to watch? Thanks again. 👍👍👍

    • @scottiethegreat74
      @scottiethegreat74 2 года назад +3

      I disagree!! But not in an internet way, I'll try and provide reasonable arguments!! Firstly, I wouldn't mind buying a replacement once it has been used, especially if it has saved me having to spend a couple of thousand dollars for a new drone!! And secondly, I think allowing people to repackage it would lead to people repacking it incorrectly, and then trying to blame the company for their own failure!! Also, what other things need to be recalibrated?? Maybe there is a trugger mechanism that can't be re-triggered without the appropriate knowledge??
      But I do agree, a unit like this that can be used multiple times by the user would be nice, but I feel not nearly as safe!! I wish we had been told the price (or did I miss that??) to judge whether it is worth a one shot purchase compared to the replacement cost of a drone, or repairs to that drone!!

    • @MrRaymond1021
      @MrRaymond1021 2 года назад +2

      @@scottiethegreat74 definitely cheaper to get a new parachute for sure? But for the price of them? I think it's should be reusable. I do know that they cost over $120.00 dollars? I think it's just a little bit to much to use one time only.
      I do agree with you on better buying another parachute than another drone. Thanks for your input.

    • @kurtzFPV
      @kurtzFPV 2 года назад +1

      I think it is reasonable to charge for another trigger mechanism of some sort, like a self inflating life vest for instance, but not the whole thing. I can see it being useful for camera platform drones under limited circumstances. As for putting it on an fpv drone- it would just get me stuck higher up in a tree at best lol.

    • @MrPhilbautista
      @MrPhilbautista 2 года назад

      It would've been a great idea if it worked properly. Did any of you notice how fast it dropped even during the second flight? That was with the parachute fully deployed right from the start. I don't care how much it costs, if it's not working properly, it shouldn't be promoted.

  • @hubschenk1652

  • @HoundDogMech
    @HoundDogMech 2 года назад +1

    We need a system for fixed wing R/C Aircraft too. Now If you had a device like this disguised as a Bomb or Rocket (Pilot Deployable) to be used as an emergency parachute system like the (Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) For Expensive R/C model aircraft weighing from 25 to 65 Lbs.

  • @shsechas

    Thanks for the review cap. It's a great idea but needs more work to make it reusable. I wonder just how many drones fall from the sky with newer technology in the past few years. I know if my drone fell from the sky my concern would not be saving the drone with this product, but reducing danger to people or damaging some property. So if your drone does fall from the sky. You may not want to fly that drone again.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  2 года назад +1

      Drones only fall from the sky due to human error... in 99.9% of cases. I've only seen a prop explode in the FPV hobby and that was from the prop nuts being too tight and cracking the props.

    • @shsechas
      @shsechas 2 года назад +2

      @@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thank you Cap for taking the time to respond to my comment. I do agree on the human error factor for drones falling from the sky. I still have anxiety when flying and it's not about losing my drone, but hurting someone or property damage.

    • @hubschenk1652
      @hubschenk1652 2 года назад

      @@CAPTAINDRONE798 In my case, a drone had a sudden total failure with no pilot error. But she was barely 10m above the ground and even a parachute would have been of no use.

  • @richiebricker
    @richiebricker 2 года назад +2

    The DJI forums are full of people saying their Mavic or their Mini just dropped out of the sky. My drones drop into trees often and had a flyaway but none just dropped. So how how high does Manti want you to fly up before ya fall out of the sky? If I knew I had to be at a certain height I would fly down and not up, lol. I guess ya lose a radio channel and might be afraid to deploy it till its too late cause ya have to pay them to repak it. And what if you accidentally bump the switch, Its gonna shoot some nylon rope into your props which will definitely then fall from the sky. I dont believe anybody should put this on an expensive drone cause accidents happen and Manti's insurance cant cover that and i dont see how they will stay in business

    as much as I like the idea of a parachute system for a drone, they are so poorly designed, that seeing the impact of that second test with parachute deployed, would almost certainly still break my mavic 3 to pieces, the arms are very fragile and the gimbal is very flimsy, i understand that safety is the primary benefit to this, but i would rather pay more for a better quality product that also offers protection of not smashing my $2500 drone causing minimum $1000 worth of extra damage

    I had the feeling that this parachute was going to be reviewed!
    Manti III is a good accessory for drones.
    3:55 You scared me without even getting started💀...
    SG906 is still a good beginner budget drone that does the work for newbies.
    If I see that low cost drone crash, then also it is going to hurt me!
    SplashDrone 4 carrying the 666 grams SG906 and Manti III tells that how powerful is it!💀
    Maybe the first time, it wasn't able to comppete its mission because of its mass...💀💀💀
    Lol
    Then also SG906 survived easily which tells how good is it!
    Overall, Manti III is a nice parachute for drone if one is flying at very high altitudes, but not for Indian natives as 15 metres is the maximum height limit ☠...
    Did you really threw the 200 dollars drone in the air Steve?!
    You broke it purposely??!!
    How can you do such thing or be so rude, even though it is a low cost drone...
    Lol, but I am right though...

    Shame on them for a 1 and done parachute. I hope people do not buy until it is self serviceable

    I would never use this. I bought one for my Air2S. You have to mount in all the way back to avoid the battery power button. Then the strap pushes against the two battery release buttons on each side - VERY STUPID! Great parachute, dumb mounting method (at least for the Air2S).

    Are there any accessories to rainproof drone?

    I would just have to say don't fly over people instead. Interesting rigging though to do the demo.....👀

    If you were just going to drop it, why use a drone? Why not just attach it to a light brick? If you had to use the drone, why not fly it and cut power when you were high enough? That would save you the need to have 2 drones and be a more typical scenario anyway. FWIW that was one tough drone you tested there. Not even cracked landing gear.

      If you have a RUclips channel, you must capture stuff on video in a reliable manner so you don't miss the shot since you only get ONE SHOT at it. Hence, you can't trust a drone to hover at one point, carrying a camera on top and a parachute unit and motors to perfectly shut off.

      @@MrPhilbautista NOPE... the second time you saw it was when I stuck the chute, already open, to the bottom of the SPLASHPRO 4 and dropped it. Are you sure you watched the vid, cause that was all explained.

    • @MrPhilbautista

      @@CAPTAINDRONE798 Yes, I did. Hence the LOL. It didn't deploy properly the first time due to the cold weather, but the drone survived the crash. And since the chute can't be reinserted by the owner but must be returned to the company, you had to do it the way you did. BTW how much to have it reinstalled and what's the max weight it can handle? The drone you attached it to seemed to be too heavy. It dropped pretty fast even with the parachute open.

    Is this a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist? Or is this a genuine issue with modern drones… ???

    Well I wouldnt call it a goof up - it was a test and frankly, it failed. Cold temps indeed - Nah, it failed. A higher starting point would have of course worked by the looks of it, but their claim is 25 metres so that has to be the test
