Well, they definetively have a museum. I know that for sure. But I'm more acquainted with the demo/exhibition hallroom where the set up, say, the stalls for Nintendo Switch games (1-2 Switch, ARMS, Splatoon 2, MK 8 Deluxe and BotW). That "Switch" event was very pleasant, I have to say. (www.nintendo.se/nyheter/294-nintendo-switch-pre-launch-event - You'll find vlogs from the event if you google 'Nintendo Switch Pre-launch event') That time the place was filled with Nintendo enthusiasts lining up to see and try out the console, the employees I met were all passionate about working there and showing off the games and sharing Nintendo trivia. I'll clarify that I visit just very occasionally, so my memory starts to blur a bit about details on layout and such. In addition to them (I think) renovating the lounge in between my latest two visits. - But I'd wholeheartedly recommend giving it a visit when given the chance. This is one of the coolest endings to a video he’s made. The winner of the contest didn’t fall out of his hobbies! In fact, he made his own game studio! It’s really cool he still has a 12 year old DS still. That research was also really well done. Good all around, guys!

What's weird is that most people would brag about their prizes or even turn them around for a huge profit, but because people are surprisingly humble and quiet about these types of prizes, we never really know much. Which reminds me of a recent Nintendo Switch prize before the official release of the console. It was with a clothing company called Uniqlo. They and Nintendo held a T Shirt design contest where the 1st/2nd place winner would receive an NX (Nintendo Switch) signed by Shig Miyamoto... there was a twist though... ...this console is a *prototype* ... It could be something we have not seen before or at least somewhat different than the official console. The contest ended all the way back in August 31st 2016! And the release of the clothes was way back in May 2017.... Nearly a year before the release of Switch! The Grand Prize Winners were in Japan, Takashi Kawazoe and Shino Yamazaki. How I wish to see this Switch and the autograph engraved...
Oh wow, these designs make the original bulky DS look really cute! lol By the way, a obscure design that many people never knew about and had little info on it with just one picture of it, but not only did you find the origins, but also the owner who took new pictures of unseen parts of it. That's just one of the many things that make me really like this channel, the amount of dedication in this researches, it's really amazing.

Bergsala isn't owned by Nintendo. In various regions of the world, Nintendo partners with local distributors to sell their stuff in countries they don't have a branch in. Bergsala is just Nintendo's Scandinavia distributor. Though I'm pretty sure that Bergsala has done a number of cool promotions

That's really nice how Simon kept the DS after all these years, and especially since from what I gather from his site, he's still doing art for games. Winning that thing must've been a huge confidence boost back then, so it's actually no wonder that he kept it as a reminder. As an artist myself, winning an award or being recognized for artwork is something that makes all the time and effort worth it. ^^

I know this awesome promotional stuff Bergsala does for the Scandinavian market. Bergsala was established before Nintendo of Europe. We had NES long before most european countries. However, technically Scandinavia more or less goes under NoE today. Bergsala still does la ot of cool stuff, distribute and provide technical support to us up here in Scandinavia. Very convinient.
Man this video forcefully made me remember that those DS:es exists. I remember that I saw a picture of the DS:es when I was little and I remember wanting them. I used to hang out a lot on the Swedish Nintendo forums back then(RIP that place), I can't say for sure but they were probably mentioned there and that's how I probably got to know about them. I'm not 100% sure though but it's most likely place where I would have seen it, that or some game magazine... Honestly kinda wild seeing Bergsala and such mentioned in a video and explained what they do.
I'll have to dig it outta one of my boxes in storage. I remember it came in a plain white box with Japanese instructions. It was part of a contest at the local mall. Also won a copy of the game and some screen cleaners based on nintendogs. Also have a dragon quest 8 I think table. I got a shirt and 2 slime screen cleaners orange and blue. Those are hanging in my car.

Have you heard about the n64 Kirby air ride prototype shown off along with Mario 64? It was shown off in spaceworld but no one talks about it and everyone usually talks about the beta version of Mario 64

I wish I had something cool like this. The coolest video game related thing I've done is play that one Battle Star Online game. I don't know the exact name, but it's one of the rarest games on GameCube. I don't own it, someone I know does and we played it together.

Considering that most of these cases seem to be obscure rumors, or intentionally misleading photoshops, it's great that not only did this turn out to be real, but the guy who actually won the DS sent new pictures of it. Great find.
I think this was a more common thing in these days. I remember dutch magazine power unlimited doing a contest where you had to photoshop your own design and one lucky winner would win. I actually participated. The winner had made cartoon drawings of the magazine staff. I have googled this and cant find any trace of it any more though. But I think at some point digital airbrushing was a nintendo of europe thing they did for promotional purposes. And the way they rolled it out was through magazines and journalism.
I don't know why but I really love rare, obscure relics of games history, even more than popular rare items like Track and Field or Nintendo World Championships.

I'll have to dig it outta one of my boxes in storage. I remember it came in a plain white box with Japanese instructions. It was part of a contest at the local mall. Also won a copy of the game and some screen cleaners based on nintendogs. Also have a dragon quest 8 I think table. I got a shirt and 2 slime screen cleaners orange and blue. Those are hanging in my car.

I wish I had something cool like this. The coolest video game related thing I've done is play that one Battle Star Online game. I don't know the exact name, but it's one of the rarest games on GameCube. I don't own it, someone I know does and we played it together.

Considering that most of these cases seem to be obscure rumors, or intentionally misleading photoshops, it's great that not only did this turn out to be real, but the guy who actually won the DS sent new pictures of it. Great find.

I think this was a more common thing in these days. I remember dutch magazine power unlimited doing a contest where you had to photoshop your own design and one lucky winner would win.
I actually participated. The winner had made cartoon drawings of the magazine staff.
I have googled this and cant find any trace of it any more though. But I think at some point digital airbrushing was a nintendo of europe thing they did for promotional purposes. And the way they rolled it out was through magazines and journalism.
