Just a little tip. I took both advertising/marketing and journalism programs in College. Journalism grad, one year off from advertising grad. Anyways, I learned twice that there's a bit of a trick in contacting people in some cases. You're actually supposed to avoid exclamation marks if you have any hope of getting a response. Neurologically, it makes the sender look more desperate, almost as if they're the type who would constantly nag at the person they get a response from. Little things like this seem unimportant, but there are many ways in which our brains connect to certain visual cues. That's just a little suggestion for ya. Take with a grain of salt or ignore it, just wanted to give some insight!
@LSuperSonicQ I think the next step to take in the search for the game is to check the manuals for every sega game released around/after 1996 for a name
The contest finished on March 18 1996 (source: the damn video), and it has a pic of a Genesis game as the "game you might make". Sega only published like 8 games after that for the Genesis so I'd look at the credits section in those, although from the ones I went through there wasn't anything special so you may have to dig through the QA and "special thanks" sections. Note that sometimes the winners of these things aren't always the friendliest- the winner of a contest where you got paid 25k if you had a "lucky" Vectorman cartridge was in jail for "CON AGGRAV BATTERY W/DEADLY WEAPN OR RESULT GBH/DEATH" among others
THE PEOPLES CHANNEL! WRESTLING I didn't even know you made that joke. I had no intention of stealing your joke, I came up with it on my own. own fact that we both came up with the same one is purely coincidental.
Ah man, when I see a video from you I drop everything and just watch it. Good stuff! I wish you decked out your Patreon, since I was supporting it but there wasn't an update since like last year.
I remember very clearly when this commercial was airing on television. Ironically it rarely came on during the actual fox kids shows, it much more commonly aired during the Ricky Lake afternoon talkshow, that followed Power Rangers and Animaniacs. I remember trying to capture it on VHS tape for days, and having to watch this boring "adult show" I really didn't care about everyday for over a week. You see, at the time I was drawing my own video game in my sketchpad and I thought this was my chance to make it into a reality. This really took me back. I must admit though, perusing this comment section it's kind of funny that something that is such a vivid memory to me, is so obscure and considered myth and Legend to a lot of you.
the Chicago Fox affiliate had similar issues as well back then with their kids broadcasting. never caught all the info for the genesis game contest because of it :\
Larry Bundy Jr I think the winner got a 3d sega genesis racing game, & had better graphics than Virtua Racing. It would've used a special engine with more capabilities than the SVP chip. It would've been called "G.P. Master Blitz", & would've been released at Christmas 1996.
I spent the day looking over the manuals of the Genesis games that would be the likely candidates, and I have found nothing in the "special thanks" sections: all the thanks are to Sega affiliated people. However, in the Vectorman 2 manual, in the thanks section there is listed a Theresa Woodberry. She is not connected to Sega in any way, so she may be who we are looking for. The only problem is that because she would have been a child when this contest was running, she may have a different last name now if she is married.
Look her up in the city directories online on some family history websites that might net a current name and location if the state she lives in has loose privacy laws. Then she could be contacted by mail 😂
I was actually in the right age range to watch Fox Kids in '96, although admittedly, I don't remember this contest. It does remind me of a similar contest from the early '00s, that was in conjunction with a soda (I'm fairly certain it was Dr Pepper); in which the winner would make a cameo appearance in a Gamecube game. I've always wondered who won that and what game they cameoed in, as it feels like it could be a spiritual successor to the Chris Houlihan room.
I am the person who won this contest. My name is John Bishop, from Andalusia, AL. They flew me and my dad to Sega headquarters in San Francisco where I got to play test Vectorman and BUG! for Sega Saturn on which I was credited for being a play tester. I also received a Saturn, Genesis and Game Gear with 30 games. We also had a party at McDonald's where we recorded a commercial that aired in the region. The game was never made. It was meant to be a 2d side scroller similar to streets of rage/double dragon but with extended combos and special moves similar to Mortal Kombat. We contacted the studio several times and they were very elusive about why the game was never made. Eventually we just let it go but this was very disappointing and still irks me to this day. If you have any more questions I'd be happy to answer. I was just reflecting on this and am amazed to see that people were curious about it. This is so wild to me that you made a video about this!! Haha I don't know why I never looked into this before. I never thought people would be so curious about it.
This reminds me of a contest Lunchables had where you could pitch your own game idea and according to the contest, a chosen winner will have their game become reality. It happened sometime in 2010, though I don't know if any game ever came out of it. There isn't much about it online, it seems like it's been completely forgotten it lost. Could anyone have info regarding this contest?
It's funny seeing this video, because it reminded me of a contest I entered for Donkey Kong Country. They were apparently holding a contest for character design on the newest Kong and I entered it, my Kong had a rocket launcher for an arm that they could use as an attack and as a double jump via the explosion. I remember being super pissed seeing Tiny Kong as the new character because of how lame they seemed. I just did a google search of the contest after watching this video and cannot find anything on it. So now I am wondering if I was just tripping balls the entire time?
I definitely remember entering this contest (I was in 4th grade at the time). It bugged me for a few months after the fact that I never really found out who won. I vaguely remember the pitch I had and I remember I sent drawings and a half assed outline in. Cool that you took the time to look into it. I think it’s just one of those things we’ll never know.
I won 3rd place in Kids WB's design a character for Cubix contest. 3rd place was a set of the entire full line of toys, so that was a nice surprise to come home to back in like 2002. I don't know if someone actually won the grand prize and designed a character for the show that actually made it into the show.
I like how im not the only one who digs thrue the internet for past relics. I tracked down every Happy Meal ever since 1995. One day ill do a sort of Encyclopedia
I actually remember this contest! I was 7 years old, but as a child, I called it the McDonalds contest. I remember the ad completely! Really cool digging! Hopefully the winner comes up eventually.
I also just wanted to say, at the time Vectorman came out (a game used in the advert) the Sega Genesis was past its prime. The commercial seems to indicate the credit will go in a Sega Genesis game, as shown via the box art. It DOES show Bug! for Sega Saturn, but... who knows. Anyways, check manuals from games post-Vectorman. There can't be THAT many to begin with.
The winner was a kid by the name of Brian O' Leary from Naples, Fl. I actually remember seeing the winner anouncement and being pissed off that I didn't won
Theory: The sweepstakes seems to be pushing Vectorman pretty hard, showing it throughout the commercial, and offering it as a prize. Is it possible that the game that the winner got to see created was Vectorman 2? If anyone has a copy of the manual or can pull up the credits for either game, it might give us a possible winner. Keep in mind the winner was sent to Sega of America headquarters, rather than Sega of Japan. That also narrows down the options of what game the winner got his name published in. Also the sweepstakes was held in 1996, and the Sega Saturn and Genesis were discontinued in 1998. Its unlikely the Sega of America team was working on anything Dreamcast related until around 1998. I think Vectorman 2 would be a good place to start. The game was released in November 1996, developed by an American studio associated with Sega of America, and is the direct sequel to Vectorman, which was heavily featured in the Sweepstakes. BUG! TOO would also be a good place to start, since it the original was featured in the commercial, was released December 1996, and was even developed in house at Sega.
I actually remember seeing ads for this contest in the 90s. Always wondered what came of it. Having worked in TV for more than a decade now, I’m sure promoters and advertisers wouldn’t know what became of the winners because their job is just to set these things up, not necessarily facilitate them. I guess we’ll just have to read every Sega manual in existence until we find some mention.
This reminds me of a simaler thing Nickelodeon did. I remember when I was younger watching episodes about kappa Mikey I saw a contest for veiwers to submit an idea to Nickelodeon in the hopes of getting their cartoon made. Come to think of it I don't remember hearing anything about the results. I think I saw the add 2-3 times though so maybe nothing came out of it
Jiggles the Clown According to an artice from an issue of Nick Magizine, C.J. Greenbalt said that he won the contest which led to the creation of Chowder.
I watched Fox Kids back in '96, but I don't remember this contest. Thank you for making this video. Even though you didn't find the winner of the contest, it was still cool to learn something new about two of my favorite things in the nineties, Sega and Fox Kids.
Hey there! I might post about it on the Lost Media forums, but I have an extremely obscure piece of "lost" media. Probably about 6-7 years ago, I was at my grandparents house and my parents had some random home diy type show on in the background of us getting ready in the morning. My sister was having my dad fix her hair in the room and then the people on the show start talking about how easy it was to make this weird rice pillow. Then, some person on the side says "It's so easy, it pumps it all the way up from DIY, to D-I-E! Everybody!" Everyone there just looked at her weird and then continued like it didn't happen. Since I wasn't in the room when that happened, I've always wanted to see it because I couldn't even write this without laughing at it. Please tell me if you can help. If you need any more information, I can give you as much help as I can. I love Lost Media so so so much. That's why I love this channel. Please let me know if you can help me see this video. I want it so bad.
That sounds intriguing. Why would someone spell out "die" on some diy show? What was going through their head? Were they supposed to say something else?
Felix Morrissey I really don't know why, but it was a live show so they couldn't edit it out. My dad's guess is that she was trying to emphasize that anyone could do it, and it didn't work and made no sense too.
I love lost media and find it very interesting I actually have a lost media story myself that I been looking for it's been forever and I just don't know what I should look up to try and find it everything I have tried doesn't work, basically when i was super young there was this movie my mom put on randomly from on demand I believe it was some kind of halloween special mainly because of the fact I remember there being a zombie in it with a black and white stripped shirt on and a knife through his head (another reminder yes i'm pretty sure it was a kids movie) and they sang i can't remember the song at all they may have not even singed in general I also believe there was an owl or some type of bird that was with this little girl which I think had brown hair i just really wanna find this so I can be at peace i think about it randomly in the middle of the night which leads me to go on long searches which i never get anything out of
Ok, i kinda have results its either the Halloween tree (where you said there is a girl owl thing) or beetlejuice (black and white stripes) or the little vampire (i have no idea)
Hey, it may be a shot in the dark but we can always check the manuals of first party sega games that were released around the time period, keep up the good work
I've tried going through the credits pages of game manuals from 1996 and 1997... waaaay too many names in the thanks sections. I gave up. Googling and cross-referencing the names made me find divorce documents from the court of two of the people credited in one of the games, that was kinda funny
Wait, hold up, when did they choose the winner of the contest exactly? The tour must have been held not long after that! So they should be credited in a game that was late in development at that point, as they wouldn't likely announce their still secret projects to some kid that walks in. Meaning the game would be released in '96 or early '97. Which games are this? Is this on the American Sega Genesis? This narrows the search for a game down quite a bit, right? Should be developed in-house and released in 1996/early 1997 in the states. Furthermore, there must have been some public relations-guy/gal from SEGA involved with this, maybe he/she has a LinkedIn too? Two more possible leads we really have to consider!
Hmm...how about talking about the mystery of the missing National Amusements Feature Presentation ident from the 2000's? Yes, I'm aware that a low-quality version has been found a year ago, but I'm curious to find out if anyone at all has a high-quality rip of the ident. Maybe getting in contact with the employees at Showcase HQ, or National Amusements?
One of the big problems is this was an American contest, so it is assumed Sega HQ was Sega of America, who didn't actually make their own games. The phrase "crank out a brand new Sega Video Game" leads me to believe it's not a arcade port. It would also be assumed that it was a game released in 1996, but after April (as the contest winner was Drawn March 18th). So that leaves up with 1 Genesis Game (Vector Man 2 [Released Nov 1996]) and 3 Sega Saturn Games (Three Dirty Dwarves [Released Sept. 27, 1996], Mr. Bones [Released Oct 18th, 1996], and NBA Action [Released June 1996]). All those dates are for the NA release. I am leaning more towards the Saturn games, as a Saturn was one of the prizes the Grand Prize winner would get (as the other winners would only get a Sega Genesis). Now just a matter of finding manuals and crossing referencing names to see if they appear in other Special Thanks, and then whittle the list down to those one off names.
Here’s a tip: McDonald’s ad agency in the ‘90s was Leo Burnett. I recommend searching for the same terms as you did previously but include “McDonald’s” and “Leo Burnett”. You are bound to find someone. They had a huge team staffed fo that account and they did all of their partnership placements as the lead agency of record. I feel like this would be more fruitful than waiting on good ol Lee to finally use his Instagram 😂 anyway, thanks for your amazing hunting and content! I love your channel!
I think its really awesome that ppl make all these awesome vids. I aint entitled to them, they dont have to make them, so its much appreciated that someone puts all that work into making them. Thanks! Much obliged!
90's and early 2000's sweepstakes always seemed so much better than what you have today. They always gave the winner a shit ton of cash and a lot of expensive goodies on the side.
I remember this contest! I was so excited by the idea of making a game that I bugged all my friends in the school yard trying to come up with a pitch but never entered. For some reason I always had it in my head that comic zone was the winning idea made by a kid... guess I was wrong
Holy hell, something I've posted on Lost Media Wiki inspired a pretty cool video. I've been a fan of your videos for a while so thank you for checking it out, I really appreciate it. ^v^
I recall trying to contact someone and then similarly realizing they had a "special" name in the URL. It turns out it was the guys email after all. The tough part I assume is figuring what email service it's done through like Google or AOL. I know the feeling though man
This video is awesome. I use to work at a donation site & loved reading old magazines from the 90’s that were donated, I’m 25 so I remember the second half of the era vaguely. I was at work one day & there was a stack of them. I came across an ad for the movie space jam and the contest was that one lucky winner would be selected to meet Michael Jordan & all that good stuff. I looked for the winner one night but couldn’t find anything significant. Anyone remember that? I think it was Energizer the battery company that did it. Have a good one everybody!
I still remember this commercial airing and some of the details surrounding it. I want to say that there was probably an entry about this in an old Fox Kids Club magazine they published around this year, but I do not have the issue.
Something that might also be worth looking into is any games released around the time of the end of the contest up until 2-ish years afterwards. Worst case scenario is that the game itself got the plug pulled on it, and thus something that never came to fruition.
My initial thought was that Sega already had a game made before this commercial, and that they would fake a contest winner, then release the game as the "winner". Though i dont see any benefits to that idea.
Great video, liking and subscribing. I remember there was also a snes kool-aid contest. Said that you would start in the video game and you'd make your own story, anyone else remembers that one?
I basically just watched fox kids for Digimon and didn't really get big into it till like 2000-2001. Watched quite a bit of WB kids for Pokemon but my childhood was definitely ruled by Nickelodeon back when it was on fire! Pretty cool contest idea though, could be so easily done nowadays with how streamlined indies are!
This reminds me of another "Create Your Own Game" Sweepstakes that I remember, however I can't remember if it was from Lunchables or Caprisun (or maybe even neither).
I always wondered what happened with this! I remember telling my mom my elaborate game design ideas and thankfully she was trying to tell me "don't count your chickens before they hatch, you're probably not going to win." In retrospect, of COURSE it would just be a studio tour and getting your name in the credits. The idea of developing a full-fledged retail game on the whims of some random 10-year-old is ludicrous. On the other hand, I'm now good enough at game programming that I could actually create my original game idea...
Nintendo ran a similar contest via Kool-Aid back in the 90’s if I recall correctly. I believe I also remember reading in Zillions (the kids’ version of Consumer Reports they used to have) that no winner ever came forward for that one.
Seems like it would be easy to search through every manual of every first party game Sega released from, say, 1996~2000 for any mentions. It'd be tedious but that's probably the best bet.
I remember this promotion! I don't remember it being promoted on Fox Kids, but I do remember seeing it being promoted at a McDonalds when I was a kid. Probably because of its connection with McWorld. I wanted to enter the contest, but never did.
ok, so to find the manual that refernces this we have some clues: -games that were made from march 1996 and beyond -made by sega, sonic team or sega technical institute at least is something
Even if it is Saturn, I think this isn't too bad of an idea. It would almost definitely be a game released in North America, and it looks like that's only about 30 Sega developed games for Saturn + the few Genesis titles so late in the system's life. I guess it could potentially be Dreamcast too, but I kind of doubt that. Now of course if we also include games published by Sega, this increases the numbers a bit.
I actually remember that contest in the day (I actually had the SEGA Channel at the time for the Genesis). My first thought was, "Yeah, we'll never hear about this again, nor who won, and it's all probably a sham."
I vaguely remember this contest and the one for X-Men 2: Clone Wars. With that one, I seem to recall runners up would win a copy of the X-Men 2: Clone Wars cartridge, while the grand prize was an arcade cabinet port of the game. I recall trying to call in to win at least a copy of the game, but could never get through.
Hey I got an idea how about you find sega games manuals of the games that were released after the giveaway and you might find a name that credited as a winner of the giveaway or something similar
I remember when Crayola did a contest where you could win a Sega Genesis and some peripherals, games etc. I always wonder if people win those contests...
I remember Fox Kids holding a contest for Los Luchadores where you could win a Lobo Furetre costume and a chance to meet the cast. The show isn't particularly well remembered and ended after a season. Really have no clue if anybody actually won
Hey man just want to let you know that I love your videos. I follow you on twitter and whenever I see you hinting to a new one I get excited and look forward to watching it. Keep it up man!
I have a mystery for you. Back around 1995 or so Cartoon Network ran a contest for a special edition Space Ghost Hot Wheels car. I wanted it badly, but I don't remember them announcing the winner. They were suppose to announce the winner, but maybe it got cancelled.
Well shit, I vaguely remember this. Once you played the commercial I definitely remember seeing it now. Of course, I was about 5 years past the age where I was interested in anything on FoxKids so I wasn't exposed to it often enough, but I was definitely into video games so if I was flipping through the channels and saw it I definitely stopped and watched.
What?! That’s the most absurd contest prize ever. They’re just going to make a game out of the blue? That would take at LEAST a year and cost tons of money
I think nekomarulupin might be onto something. There was a "contest winner" screen in Vectorman 2, released around that time, displaying a drawing of a fanmade Vectorman form.
Also worth noting that vectorman 2 saw release late 96 and had a contest were someone desighned a transformation for vectorman that was used in game this was a random fan. They show footage of the first vectorman in that promo vid.
It's entirely likely though that the contest went nowhere. I was the chair of a branch committee for a health project, and we held a contest once. Under consultation from another organization, we were told that we could null the contest because not of the entries were suitable (a course of action that didn't seem to be out of the ordinary). Sega could have pulled out of the deal or Fox could have deemed no winner, in which case the contest would have gone nowhere.

I'm not sending an official response to a company, I'm writing a RUclips comment.

Framerater and LSuperSonicQ? This is really cool.
@LSuperSonicQ I think the next step to take in the search for the game is to check the manuals for every sega game released around/after 1996 for a name
that's going to take quite a bit of time, though. a date for when that ad aired or when the contest began would make that a lot easier
CarlWheezer the problem is that we don’t know who the winner is
Porkermurns
We can look at the names on manuals and use process of elimination, since credits usually aren't in manuals there won't be many names.
Wouldn't it be a Sega-developed game? That would narrow down the options.
The contest finished on March 18 1996 (source: the damn video), and it has a pic of a Genesis game as the "game you might make". Theory: Kekcroc was the winning game.
i was thinking the same lmao
Jaxson Movies I was thinking this also
I was Kekcroc
How would we know when Kekcroc was released if it's still lost?
The question is, where did Know Your Meme get their data from?
I don't say this often, but this channel and lost media in general deserves more attention.
There used to be another guy who made videos like this (not pan pizza) but he completely gave up on it and eventually deleted his own videos.
agreed
Yeah, this has to be one of the most underrated channels on this platform.
I know which manual the winner was put in.
Kekcrok.
The case is Close thx

MarxForever FUN FACT: I think the winning game was G.P. Masters.
the Chicago Fox affiliate had similar issues as well back then with their kids broadcasting. never caught all the info for the genesis game contest because of it :\
Speaking of Chris Houlihan, have you ever tried tracking him down? See what he's up to now?
I did have a stab myself a few years ago, but no joy :(
Hmmm, probably living a normal life.
After all, Chad Warden is now a father.
Larry Bundy Jr I think the winner got a 3d sega genesis racing game, & had better graphics than Virtua Racing. It would've used a special engine with more capabilities than the SVP chip. It would've been called "G.P. Master Blitz", & would've been released at Christmas 1996.

And they even did a weird re design for it too
SrRyteAway Lets find the game.

Rand Warren yup
If he's the current CEO of Toon Goggles, my first instinct would be to contact Toon Goggles. They have a contact form...
They may have contact details though, or even just a lead.
SatoPika i thought he said he was the CCO not the CEO
SatoPika It says CCO, which he is.
The latest stuff I found was from 2017. It might be recent enough to contact the company
Funny that when I get the scoop and have done and have a interview I'm ignored funny how things work
It's funny seeing this video, because it reminded me of a contest I entered for Donkey Kong Country.

From what I could find, in the magazine "Totally Fox Kids Magazine #25 (Winter 1996)" Page 33, they say the winner is "John Bishop".
I won 3rd place in Kids WB's design a character for Cubix contest. 3rd place was a set of the entire full line of toys, so that was a nice surprise to come home to back in like 2002.
If you pay for linkedin premium you could message him there.
You uploaded this at night specifically so I wouldn't be able to sleep knowing we still don't know who won that contest, didn't you? DIDN'T YOU?! ;)
I would love to see a Part 2 if it gets a lead, reply, or winner
god i love this channel
first name greatest last name ever same
I have never seen fox kids it before
What's it all about?
I also just wanted to say, at the time Vectorman came out (a game used in the advert) the Sega Genesis was past its prime. The commercial seems to indicate the credit will go in a Sega Genesis game, as shown via the box art. It DOES show Bug! for Sega Saturn, but... who knows. Anyways, check manuals from games post-Vectorman. There can't be THAT many to begin with.
This guy is still pretty obscure in the RUclips space, but I swear him and his content is gold. Definitely deserves more attention
This was an interesting video. This is truly one of my favorite channels on RUclips.
Huh, now huge giveaways are lost media
What next??!
Ghostgirl 708 presidential elections
Movies
Lost text messages from your ex
Super Koala Jones im just watching this after my country had their second presidential debate
A slice of toast with the face of The Statue of Liberty burned on the side of it
This is why I love the lost media genre, you always make ways to make these topics more interesting.
The winner was a kid by the name of Brian O' Leary from Naples, Fl. I actually remember seeing the winner anouncement and being pissed off that I didn't won
Interesting info.
interressing indeed
How come u didnt get ahold of the company he works at currently? Surely that would be a good start?
Because they likely wouldn't give him Lee's personal information to contact him.
Kinda remember that
Nick R But that was on Cartoon Network, so maybe Nickelodeon rejected it afterwards?
Extremewrecker2000 The willer. Im assumeing thats the case.
Nick R It pretty much shows you that Nick really sucked at trying to find a good cartoon as they also rejected Adventure Time.
Babydaisylover Aren't you the same person who commented on The IHE Minions comment comeback video?
Dylan daniel antonio Galaz Oyarzun I completely forgot about that comment. I had no idea it got so popular. But anyways, yes. It is me
Try posting it on Reddit, on /r/tipofmytongue
Felix Morrissey I really don't know why, but it was a live show so they couldn't edit it out. My dad's guess is that she was trying to emphasize that anyone could do it, and it didn't work and made no sense too.
I love lost media and find it very interesting I actually have a lost media story myself that I been looking for it's been forever and I just don't know what I should look up to try and find it everything I have tried doesn't work, basically when i was super young there was this movie my mom put on randomly from on demand I believe it was some kind of halloween special mainly because of the fact I remember there being a zombie in it with a black and white stripped shirt on and a knife through his head (another reminder yes i'm pretty sure it was a kids movie) and they sang i can't remember the song at all they may have not even singed in general I also believe there was an owl or some type of bird that was with this little girl which I think had brown hair
i just really wanna find this so I can be at peace i think about it randomly in the middle of the night which leads me to go on long searches which i never get anything out of
Is it animated or not?
Ok, i kinda have results its either the Halloween tree (where you said there is a girl owl thing) or beetlejuice (black and white stripes) or the little vampire (i have no idea)
Hey, it may be a shot in the dark but we can always check the manuals of first party sega games that were released around the time period, keep up the good work
Won't be too hard to find the credit, how many first party games did Sega release in 1996?
I've tried going through the credits pages of game manuals from 1996 and 1997... waaaay too many names in the thanks sections. I gave up. Googling and cross-referencing the names made me find divorce documents from the court of two of the people credited in one of the games, that was kinda funny
how is it that literal years later you have commented twice and he has not replied to either of your comments lmao
March 1996 is when they chose the winner.
Just finished the video, what a trip. Another interesting video!
Just recently stumbled apon your channel and I binged watched all your videos so to see new uploads is amazing, keep it up bro
Let’s hope the mystery gets a satisfying ending
Great video as usual! Hope we can find out more in the future, this is very interesting!
your intro fits so good or atleast the music for some reason it has like a small and fresh mystery vibe and that really fits into the videos
Thanks for making this! It’s pretty cool to learn about this mystery.
90's and early 2000's sweepstakes always seemed so much better than what you have today. They always gave the winner a shit ton of cash and a lot of expensive goodies on the side.
I still can't believe I won first place in that 4Kids Bratz sweepstakes! I won a red remote controlled car that you could put your Bratz dolls in
@Julio Carlos ????
I see Chaotic clips. Oh, the nostalgia. Wish I knew others that were into it, but I haven’t found anyone since the online game closed down
I remember this contest!
Hello there
I found a English dub video about Motu Patlu, I know that meme is so Dead now but i wanna see you talking about.
Where can I find the English dub of the Dead Meme Show?
I still remember this commercial airing and some of the details surrounding it. I want to say that there was probably an entry about this in an old Fox Kids Club magazine they published around this year, but I do not have the issue.
1:01 and 9:12 Yakko, you just had to sneak in to an LSuperSonicQ video lol. Twice, too!
Something that might also be worth looking into is any games released around the time of the end of the contest up until 2-ish years afterwards. Worst case scenario is that the game itself got the plug pulled on it, and thus something that never came to fruition.
Watching the FoxBox on Saturday mornings are some of my best childhood memories.
My initial thought was that Sega already had a game made before this commercial, and that they would fake a contest winner, then release the game as the "winner". Though i dont see any benefits to that idea.
You are underestimating how interested I am in this beetleborgs Halloween bash
Great video, liking and subscribing. I remember there was also a snes kool-aid contest. Said that you would start in the video game and you'd make your own story, anyone else remembers that one?
Man fox kids that brings back some memories
I basically just watched fox kids for Digimon and didn't really get big into it till like 2000-2001. Watched quite a bit of WB kids for Pokemon but my childhood was definitely ruled by Nickelodeon back when it was on fire! Pretty cool contest idea though, could be so easily done nowadays with how streamlined indies are!
This was my first video of yours I ever saw i vividly remember the commercials for this on fox kids
Very awesome video keep up the amazing work!
wow, nice video! I enjoyed any videogame episode you make.
ok, so to find the manual that refernces this we have some clues:
-games that were made from march 1996 and beyond
-made by sega, sonic team or sega technical institute
at least is something
looks like there arent a lot of sega games that released in the genesis in 96, the problem is that maybe that game is a saturn game
Now of course if we also include games published by Sega, this increases the numbers a bit.
also, the manual scans of this games are pretty hard to find, well some of this games
I actually remember that contest in the day (I actually had the SEGA Channel at the time for the Genesis). My first thought was, "Yeah, we'll never hear about this again, nor who won, and it's all probably a sham."
Notification squad!
Also, remember the fox kids King of the Hill ad?
zzcolby27 Notification squad comments are still a thing?
Dylan daniel antonio Galaz Oyarzun eh, couldn't think of anything else
you mean the one with the silver surfer?
Frederica Bernkastel And they say Infinity war was Ambitious
Dylan daniel antonio Galaz Oyarzun
"Bobby, i don't feel so good"
The Saturn was already out but the box image they used was for a Genesis game? Weird.
1:15 my favorite video game is “SLIGHTLY ANNOYED FACE: THE GAME”
I vaguely remember this contest and the one for X-Men 2: Clone Wars. With that one, I seem to recall runners up would win a copy of the X-Men 2: Clone Wars cartridge, while the grand prize was an arcade cabinet port of the game. I recall trying to call in to win at least a copy of the game, but could never get through.
Why am I not getting notifications? You're easily the most interesting youtuber!
Remember the time when I was saying you deserve 1 million subs you still deserve it
OMG I signed up for this when I was a kid!!
They had paper surveys at McDonald's about your ideal Sega game!
Damn them SEGA commercials still work... I just hooked up my SEGA and pulled out VECTORMAN and Home Alone
I remember the 4kids contests, I actually won a gameboy advance from one.
Dang, oh well. Hopefully you'll see a random message in your inbox one day and this mystery will be solved! Great quality video as always!
I think nekomarulupin might be onto something. There was a "contest winner" screen in Vectorman 2, released around that time, displaying a drawing of a fanmade Vectorman form.
I don’t remember Vectorman having such high quality music.
Love these kinds of videos :3
I was waiting for this weeks video!
