I believe the "Long awaited" quote in the Super Kid Icarus blurb is just referencing the fact that it was a scarce Nintendo series with only two niche titles at the time, with fans looking forward to more. Looks like things haven't changed much decades later, hopefully Nintendo sees the success of Metroid Dread and brings back series like Kid Icarus, F-Zero and the like for more games.
As someone who collects Etone plushies, it is so incredibly hard to find specific things they've made. I searched for over 5 years to find one of their large sized white raccoon plushes from the 80s for sale and i haven't seen another one for grabs since. Same with their giant tan raccoon. I could only imagine how much harder it would be to find something like a Jumpman plush from them, considering he wasnt a widely recognized character at the time nor a cute critter that would appeal to kids.
The etone story brings to attention a very important fact. If you work for a company, collect an obscure or random product, let your family know about it, or it will likely be thrown away or put into a thrift store.
Just coming here to see what people are saying about the Metroid Dread entry. Absolutely INSANE how they actually pulled thru and made it into a real game. Makes me happy asf❤️
I'm Swedish and Bergsala is a very familiar name to those of us who grew up with Nintendo systems of that era. The 2006 contest was after I stopped following their stuff (busy with real life) but you can probably contact some of Bergsala's ex-staff from that time to see who the winner of the second DS is. Pretty sure they also still had a paper magazine that was handed out to fanclub members at the time so you can search for that also. Best of luck.
ya its 100% a mock up the materials on yoshi alone proves that as you can easily see similarities with donkey kong country promo renders and 100% would end up looking different in the game. Not to even bring up the fidelity of the background being way to clear and not stupidly compressed like any of the other "3d" games on the gba.I do wonder where it came from though 2000 rarely had real 3d fanart ontop its very well put together that shows a good grasp on the style Nintendo at the time with how the UI and materials are handled.

This is going to sound really weird but does anyone have any information about a Nintendo related shitpost? It was a prank video from the early 2010s announcing a new 3DS title. A interesting unreleased game is Werewolf the Apocalypse - The heart of Gaia. It was was supposed to come out around 1999 for PC but kept getting delayed after not being able to find a publisher after the original got shut down. After 23 years, only 34 seconds of gameplay has been released. Interestingly enough, out of the supposed 15 cinematics, 14 have been posted to RUclips, completely voiced and animated.
Much like Polybius for PlayStation VR, it's Yeah Yeah Beebiss II in name only - it's only someone's idea of what the game could've been like based on the title. I like it though, it's a fun idea.
Beebiss was placed on the list as a follower trap. They knew that other companies would swoop in and try to buy the fake game at a marginally lower price after the initial pricing announcement. Occam's Razor fully applies. Yeah Yeah Beebiss was a trap, but not a copyright trap. Some of LSSQs assumptions don't hold, like "if it was a trap, it'd be on the list longer." I'd disagree, as it'd only need to be on as long as it needed. "Somebody had to go and price them out." Only one group needed to price them out. It's very common in several flipping industries to lean on each other's pricing structure. Don't you look at ebay ads to see how much people are buying/selling collectibles? "They were in the same magazine." The magazine won't care. It's not their job to scan these ads and ensure one isn't lifting content from the other. They take the ad, make sure it's relevant and not obviously illegal, and get paid. Period.
28:00 Hahaha, yea. Loads of "news" was fake either to fill pages or simply stir up buzz. Part of the reason was that loads were simply fans writing about stuff and part of it was that there were loads of publications and a rather small install base. Even to this day, while being more professional, this is still a rather big issue with gaming journalism. And while today the whole "lets just make up shit about a company future products" is largely dead, they still have a heavy hand at creating "controversy" as controversy these days sells better than tales of new releases. Granted the latter also has enter in some normal publication for clicks reasons.
For the Toshiba game the gba was scaled back in power and cut telephone functions for price. So this could have been a game that worked on the gameboy before it was reworked into the system we see today
Simogo isn't just a small game studio. It's one of my personal fave teams! Sayonara Wild Hearts, Year Walk, Beat Sneak Bandit, and Device 6 are all great games from them.
when i checked the nintendo switch eshop coming soon section this morning i saw a yeah yeah beebiss game and i was kind of losing my mind over it potentially just fucking popping up randomly after all these years, but after looking at it it looks like it's a "sequel" game banking on the popularity of the mystery over it i just have to mention it because the whole mystery around yeah yeah beebiss is so fascinating and i'm stunned that i saw a game based on it today
Man I remember playing Heart Gold years ago and using that portable Poke Walker that came with the boxed game. You could upload Pokemon and bring them with you on adventures or to school and they would unlock some special content depending on events and other things. I recall getting a ride to a Gamestop an hour away just to try and get some special collection Pokemon uploaded to my game but they could only do it from the store itself. That specific event ended after only a few days I believe and nobody I know has the event pokemon or cosmetics.
To my knowledge it wasn’t 100% solved, it’s just that someone that worked on the list said they DID use fakes, and that there was a good chance it was a fake, but they didn’t remember. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Fun fact, Bergsala started Nintendo Videospelsklubb in -86 which was a precursor to what later would become Club Nintendo. They are today the only Nintendo distributor not owned by Nintendo.
Actually, there's a log in Pikmin 1 that has Olimar's family in it! It's only a constellation and has no coloring, but they're there. However, I'm pretty sure that the designs of his family in 1 seem somewhat different than in 2, and the ones in the short seem to be from 2.
Loved the video, but had to interject one thing; The idea gaming mags were putting out fake news is not entirely accurate, at least in my humble opinion. I am one who fully enjoyed gaming and the media in the 80's and 90's, and actually still have most of those mags that were mentioned. To the best of my knowledge Qman was just authored by random rotating staff at EGM. It was a section for gossip and speculation as there was much of that around the industry. Most of it was information that never came into anything special, but it was entertaining. The Qman section was one of my favourite sections of the mag years ago. That and the psycho letter of the month. Long live Captain Calzone!
I would also add the cancelled/lost darkstalkers reboot that was teased in 2012. The only thing we ever knew about it was the shakeycam footage of a trailer at nycc but capcom never officially worked on it from that point or released the trailer themselves. If there was ever a build or concepts made from it they have never seen the light of day unfortunately
For the Animal Crossing DSs. I'm fairly certain I heard that Summer and Fall variants resurfaced since that original video. Fall being found just recently, as a matter of fact.
just want to point out that the original smash eater is lost media notice the *2* in that clip he showed the first one was taken off youtube only way you can watch it is a comparison video to the original opening
We could possibly find the Tokyo show sonic prototype by finding the place of where it happened and trying to ask the owners knowing or trying to remember last time he had put it or at least try to find the emulation of the idea of the prototype
When it comes to magazines posting fake news like you said, I wouldn't be shocked if they still sometimes do it. I had a subscription to gameinformer a few years back, and they gave little information for some games that they list that it was a wonder why they listed them at all.
We from the lost media community have been finding it very old on RUclips, gameplay (mod) minecraft playing is in the middle of the forest with light fog and there are also wolves when playing they hit the wolves eyes turn red I only remember at the end of the gameplay the lake turns red when sonic.exe appears at the end to kill the player, maybe by the time I'm 9 or 10 years old I've already researched a lot about nothing else, if anyone knows about this gameplay it's already very good for me
man i'm so tempted to see if you'd help me find a old episode of chowder i remember but there's literally no proof it existed besides my memory, my brother's, and a few others outside my family
I remember stumbling across that Pinkman Anime (Animation) on a website like New Grounds and not on RUclips. Hence why the original uploader never posted it here. For some strange reason few content creators post Thier New Grounds content on RUclips.
As italian, Let me translate correctly the Kid Icarus Screenshot from Game Power: In about a Year we gonna see re-edition of one of the most funny games appeared on NES (Not one of the best games, its translated wrong), Kid Icarus, The Game is gonna be 24 Megabits, And promise to be one of the biggest titles of the coming year or as Nintendo said. (I removed Mamma beacause it litterally means Mother), For now they got very few wrong games (Refeers from some games in the past that didn't sell well). Sorry if my english is kinda broke.
I swear I saw that Yoshi screenshot without the IGN watermark on a printed magazine in mexico back then just before the gba release, along with a Meowth pokemon game and Mario 128 among others. I don't even remember if it was that Club Nintendo magazine or an imported one from Spain. I didn't had internet until 2006
The purple Yoshi image is clearly a mockup. The GBA can't make anything like that and the image looks a lot like the sort of rubbish fake images they would come up with at the time. I believe the Pikmin short was fanmade for Newgrounds.
I genuinely wondered why starfox never had an arcade port, even if it's just starfox 64's levels on arcade graphics. But one while starfox assault released? Now that's cool
I’m shocked that as Nintendo motion controls got better they never tried Yoshi safari again…I owned a copy as a kid but I think it was missing something I think it was the sensor for the scope cause the scope didn’t fire
Can you really call internal prototype builds of games lost media? It's not like they were ever available to begin with, nor were they meant to be. And pretty much any piece of creative media ever made has pre-production versions of itself that isn't available to the public.
So I'm not super good at this detective stuff to find out if this is a real lead or not but at the off chance it is I thought I'd let you know and you can decide if it's worth looking into or can be debunked right away... The first thing I thought of when you said a video game titled "Yeah Yeah Beebiss I" was Beavis from the mtv show Beavis and Butt-Head. Beavis obviously sounds like Beebiss and the second B makes it seem like it could be a type of SKU mashup of their names. Also, Beavis says "Yeah Yeah" so dang much it's almost his catch phrase. Specifically twice in a sequence. THEN... I remembered a video game of them advertised as "MTV's Beavis and Butt-Head: The Game". I never played it but I looked it up. There's not a lot of info I could easily find about it and it says it was released in 1994. But, in the limited description of the game it says that "Beavis and Butt-Head: The Game" are 3 tie in games. But I can't find anything about what 3 games made up the one entire game. It's just the one game released in 1994. The 3 parts could theoretically explain why "Yeah Yeah Beebiss I" has the roman numeral 1 in the title. So What if, now hear me out... The first segment of Beavis and Butt-Head was released under a different title at an earlier time. Possibly a little premature or for a kind of soft launch/ teaser test sort of thing. It is a rather obscure kind of game. And then they had to pull it from the listing because the developer was going to put it and 2 other parts together into one singular game instead of 3 separate ones... Idk maybe this can be instantly discounted but hey, maybe it's a start to a direction no one would have thought of otherwise that leads to something more.
The problem with that theory is that the listing of “Yeah Yeah Beebiss I” dates from June 1989, whilst _Beavis and Butt-Head_ first aired in March 1993 :)
The Metroid Dread he talks about in the video is not the same as the one that was released on the Switch. He’s talking about the original DS builds of the game.
Feel free to roast me, but I swear that many, many years ago, I saw the Winter AC DS on eBay. I didn't win it, but I do remember it going for way less than I'd have ever imagined. Don't quote me on any of that though, as I can't prove even a smidgen of that faint memory...
I researched the Yoshi thing, and there is absolutely 0 info about it other than what is already known. My theory is it was a scrapped sequel to Yoshi's Safari. I mainly looked on IGN, and couldn't even find the original screenshots of it.
Haven’t watched this whole thing but I hope you posted how they advertised the halo 1 demo with an assault rifle with a ammo ticker.. game came out and nothing

I had no idea yeah yeah beebiss was lost cause it just got a sequel release recently on the switch and dreamcast
Period.
I do remember seeing the gold ds but I honestly do not remember where, but we had pictures of them everywhere in magazines here
28:00 Hahaha, yea.
Sayonara Wild Hearts, Year Walk, Beat Sneak Bandit, and Device 6 are all great games from them.
when i checked the nintendo switch eshop coming soon section this morning i saw a yeah yeah beebiss game and i was kind of losing my mind over it potentially just fucking popping up randomly after all these years, but after looking at it it looks like it's a "sequel" game banking on the popularity of the mystery over it
i just have to mention it because the whole mystery around yeah yeah beebiss is so fascinating and i'm stunned that i saw a game based on it today
Yeah yeah beebiss has been solved by the creator of the list.
Its not real.
List filler game. Fake. To see who is copying their lists
Yeah, I thought Whang! covered this.
To my knowledge it wasn’t 100% solved, it’s just that someone that worked on the list said they DID use fakes, and that there was a good chance it was a fake, but they didn’t remember. Correct me if I’m wrong.
I keep forgetting to subscribe to you. Your videos are amazing and great to have on while I draw
Fun fact, Bergsala started Nintendo Videospelsklubb in -86 which was a precursor to what later would become Club Nintendo. They are today the only Nintendo distributor not owned by Nintendo.
Yeah Yeah Beebiss sounds like a dope band name
Great video!
Actually, there's a log in Pikmin 1 that has Olimar's family in it! It's only a constellation and has no coloring, but they're there. However, I'm pretty sure that the designs of his family in 1 seem somewhat different than in 2, and the ones in the short seem to be from 2.
I Love your videos!
23:21 i might suspect it confused probaly to act raiser 2 since it had the same premise of the icarus game.
Long live Captain Calzone!
oh man
oh man
time for some young lssq bois
Tom nokia at 35:03 was the best part.
5:20 whats the weird little chiptune theme playing here?
Whats the song playing at 22:30?
For the Animal Crossing DSs. I'm fairly certain I heard that Summer and Fall variants resurfaced since that original video. Fall being found just recently, as a matter of fact.
just want to point out that the original smash eater is lost media
notice the *2* in that clip he showed
the first one was taken off youtube only way you can watch it is a comparison video to the original opening
We from the lost media community have been finding it very old on RUclips, gameplay (mod) minecraft playing is in the middle of the forest with light fog and there are also wolves when playing they hit the wolves eyes turn red I only remember at the end of the gameplay the lake turns red when sonic.exe appears at the end to kill the player, maybe by the time I'm 9 or 10 years old I've already researched a lot about nothing else, if anyone knows about this gameplay it's already very good for me
I thought we DID find the Sonic 1 prototype? Was that just a super old video?
What we found was a build from the middle of development while people are intrigued in finding the Tokyo Toy Show build which is much earlier.
man i'm so tempted to see if you'd help me find a old episode of chowder i remember but there's literally no proof it existed besides my memory, my brother's, and a few others outside my family
It's so strange seeing these boards talking about the GBA when it was new. GBA SP was my first handheld and it saddens me that it no longer works.
I remember stumbling across that Pinkman Anime (Animation) on a website like New Grounds and not on RUclips. Hence why the original uploader never posted it here. For some strange reason few content creators post Thier New Grounds content on RUclips.
As italian, Let me translate correctly the Kid Icarus Screenshot from Game Power:
In about a Year we gonna see re-edition of one of the most funny games appeared on NES (Not one of the best games, its translated wrong), Kid Icarus, The Game is gonna be 24 Megabits, And promise to be one of the biggest titles of the coming year or as Nintendo said. (I removed Mamma beacause it litterally means Mother), For now they got very few wrong games (Refeers from some games in the past that didn't sell well). Sorry if my english is kinda broke.
50:13 that pikmin art style kinda looks similar to the animal crossing dobutsu no mori aka Animal crossing the movie sub/dub just saying
16:29 It sounds really dumb, but I wonder if it was two people talking over the phone:
"Add Dweebers to the list".
"Beebis?"
"Yeah, Yeah Beebis".
I believe that's the same Simon Flesser that went on to make Sayonara Wild Hearts, that's pretty crazy
So is Unreleased content considered lost?
Yes
The purple Yoshi image is clearly a mockup. The GBA can't make anything like that and the image looks a lot like the sort of rubbish fake images they would come up with at the time.
I believe the Pikmin short was fanmade for Newgrounds.
I genuinely wondered why starfox never had an arcade port, even if it's just starfox 64's levels on arcade graphics. But one while starfox assault released? Now that's cool
I love how Metroid dread got release but for the switch
I’m shocked that as Nintendo motion controls got better they never tried Yoshi safari again…I owned a copy as a kid but I think it was missing something I think it was the sensor for the scope cause the scope didn’t fire
it was also on the master system a few months before the genesis game. it also played entirely different than the genesis game.
57:11 sorry pal, never gonna happen
Are you aware some company is putting out Yeah Yeah Bevis 2 out on switch, calling it "the sequel to a supposed lost media game"
Can you really call internal prototype builds of games lost media? It's not like they were ever available to begin with, nor were they meant to be. And pretty much any piece of creative media ever made has pre-production versions of itself that isn't available to the public.
This feels like a calmer nick Robinson video
There is one lost game that you guys never talk about. Spy vs Spy Island Caper on commodore 64.
Anyone know the names of the background musics?
Lost media wiki challenge find my will to continue
The Metroid Dread he talks about in the video is not the same as the one that was released on the Switch. He’s talking about the original DS builds of the game.
I know its probably not worth your time to make a video on it but a prototype for Sonic 1 was found, although its not the TGS one.
Didn't starfox 64 have a very hard to get tank segment
57:15
😈
I have the original HQ version of the Pikmin short if you want me to upload it.
Oh my god yes PLEASE upload it
A Mallow plush toy sold on eBay back in November for $37,745
I played this open world type caveman game when I was a child however since I haven't been able to find it
Feel free to roast me, but I swear that many, many years ago, I saw the Winter AC DS on eBay.
I mainly looked on IGN, and couldn't even find the original screenshots of it.
there's also a possibility it was a hoax.
If there’s absolutely nothing about it, it was probably a hoax.
Haven’t watched this whole thing but I hope you posted how they advertised the halo 1 demo with an assault rifle with a ammo ticker.. game came out and nothing
Hey Hey Bebiss is almost certainly Rai Rai Kyonshis: Baby Kyonshi no Amida Daiboken for the Power Pad.
It is its just a miss translation plus the power pad thing is a unconfirmed rumor
