Hello have you upgraded your ram to dual channel 4+4 2666 mhz since I own the same laptop like yours but when I tried to upgrade the ram with the same specification it glitched my screen making it unusable until I remove the ram it works again
If you have the intel model, there is this thing called flex memory that lets you run mismatch memory modules in something faster than single channel but not as fast as dual channel.

Its right above the hdd. Its not empty in the video, they have a short (2242) 128gb ssd in it, but there appears to be a screw hole for a typical 2280 length as well. Look @3:24 That said, I have seen listings where it says there are no m.2 slots... so not sure if that is incorrect or not for those models that come with a 1tb hdd, you'd think they would all have it even if it comes with only the hdd. Its why I came to this video but need to research further.

i put 16gb RAM with 4gb soldered RAM and it run 20gb RAM with no problem

@@lennydiaz you can, but the SSD would have to be a M.2 (better an M.2 Nvme) and the hdd a regular slim (i think 7mm thick) hdd

Does all ideapad 3 motherboard support sata hdd? Mine has a drive bay but does not a a cable connected to the motherboard.
You need to buy that cable if you wants to add hdd, ask computer store or lenovo service center for that cable.

unless you disassemble it to the point you remove the heat sink and or main board, it shouldn't void the warranty to open it up for upgrades

i know this is late but the laptop will support any size drive as long as it fits in the laptop drive bay (2.5")

the difference is on the processor only,over all they are the same
Everything is clear, SSD 2280 will not fit, only 2242 and 2260, and at the very least SATA 2.5

Come on mate, since about 2015 all laptops cpu / gpu have been soldered to the motherboard. Accept workstations (laptop) have upgradable video cards.
