So does the sodimm actually work in dual channel with the soldered RAM or does it simply add an additional bank on the same channel?

Yeah, you buy the cable separately.
Oddly enough, I've ordered mine with the cable directly from the website and they still sent me the wrong cable, so make sure you choose the right model.

Can I add two SSD's to this laptop a 512gb NVMe
and 512gb or 1tb 2.5inch Sata SSD and mine came with a Harddrive pre installed do I still need a ribbon cable if I want to swap the hod to 2.5inch sata ssd?
you can add whatever size hard drive into the computer as long as its 2.5 inch drive anything bigger or smaller will not fit in the computer,it should come with its own cable in the system but if not they are pretty cheep online almost anywhere. and the ssd will be the same ribbon cable as the hard drive. you can also have two ssds correct they work as two different storage options.
@@ybaw-alex8547 you’re wrong because Lenovo gave a limit for the storage sizes and if you go pass that the drives might not even appear or not work as well is supposed to. Hdd 1tb max and Nvme ssd 512gb max. But I don’t know if adding a 2.5inch ssd would mean you can make that 1tb instead of a 512gb.

it has 4gd soldered and a slot. You can´t upgrade it to 16 or 32. You can upgrade it to 12 or 20.

You can't, if you want a better battery buy the version with the ryzen 5500u, that includes a 3 cell battery

Yes, this is a modern cpu, it supports at least 32gb (16 per channel) and i bet it supports 64gb (in this case 4gb solded + 32gb socketed module)

You can as you can see @ 2:16.
If the slot comes with any RAM installed just remove it and install the desired value. 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB SODIMM should work just fine.
