- Steel Panther are joined onstage by Joey Belladonna (Anthrax) and Jason Hook (ex-Five Finger Death Punch) for their cover of Judas Priest's "You've Got Another Thing Coming'" on Shiprocked, aboard the Carnival Breeze on January 25, 2022.
You can't have two guests and expect the tune not to go off into different directions. Regardless, it's fun and Joey's voice is really powerful.

I don't think anyone really enjoyed that very much, including Joey, the band, the crowd. Tough to just jump up and do that unless you know it inside and out. Lot o pressure for sure.

The derailments that happened in this song were 100% Jason Hook's fault - he clearly did not know the song structure well enough and was getting way too caught up in turning every other measure into an impromptu shredfest. The part at 2:11 could've maybe fit like two licks before the second verse was supposed to start, but Jason was trying to turn it into a full-length solo, which is why Joey and Satchel looked over in confusion, and then just had to throw in a repeat of the chorus line to try to make it seem intentional. That's also why Michael calls out to everyone to skip ahead to the bridge - cause he could tell everyone was losing their place in the song, and that jumping to that point would at least get everyone on the same page, even if it meant skipping a verse.
Unfortunately, Jason just keeps on adding in more random shred bits after that with no adherence to any kind of song structure or congruency, so everyone keeps losing their place again, and Michael doing his best to get things back on track and make it seem like it's on purpose, until eventually he has to give up and actually stop the entire song to tell everyone where to come in - something you NEVER want to have to do midway through a song as a professional musician.
I can only imagine how stressed and embarrassed everyone must have been up there during this performance as the song was falling apart in front of a crowd that big, but for how demoralizing it must've felt they did a great job of still playing it off in good spirits, which is the true mark of professionalism right there. Despite his massive fuckups, they still thanked Jason at the end of it, and tried to keep the crowd hyped by commenting on how amazing it was that he and Joey had managed to pull that off without having ever met before (though it definitely was not amazing at all...in fact it was very believable that they had never met or played together, lol)
Wow. I dind't notice what Jason did there. Thank you for pointing that out. Steel Panther are really professional, so is Joey.

WTF is this?!?!?! the 40 year reunion of Impaler?!?!?!.....See what happens when you let the biggest chic magnet in your band go?!?!?! I miss Lexxie, he was literally the Iconic image of the 80 metal deity, great musician, the guy we all wanted to be.....ya know, to get more chix, and make it, ha ha Panther is still great, just wrekin me without Lexxie.

Butchered this to the max. Worst I have heard. Please teach the guitar player the chords and song structure and stop all the leads. It’s not always about how fast or often you can shred dude!

Played with FFDP for maybe ten years? And Alice Cooper....He's an incredible, brilliant player, very innovative. However, I agree with you, this was not a good rendition, at all.

My God, this was awful!
Joeys voice just dosent have the range for any song. He has tremendous top end, but very lacking in the bottom end, plus the dude has to be 1000 years old by now. He sounds great on the new Anthrax albums, but that is stuff written specifically with him in mind. Listen to him sing Only, he cannot sing the Bush era stuff, and certainly cannot sing this one. But that does not make him a bad singer at all, I love the guy, but he needs to stick to the right songs. This was kind of embarrassing.
Joey actually sings this song with his cover band Chief Big Way frequently and sounds fine on it. He could've sounded a bit better on this performance of it sure, but he was most definitely not the biggest problem with how it turned out - that was 100% Jason Hook and his derailments of the song with nonstop soloing.
Please never again Joey ! Stick with Journey.
